I was exhausted and my ass hurt from sitting for almost 9 hours straight. Thankfully, it was only that long, but damn, I was antsy to get off this jet. As the jet started to descend, my stomach started to turn. I hated flying. This just sucked. I tried putting my head in my hands and leaned forward that but made it worse. Just closing my eyes made everything spin. The only thing that helped was taking deep breaths and turning on the cool air to full blast on my face.

“You look green, Ms. Ivory.” I heard from the side. Looking over, Estella was smiling at me.

“Since we are not on your territory any longer, you must ad hear to our rules and that means what we consider disrespectful. You will address me by Goddess Luna or Goddess Ivory since you are not a wolf.” I said as I glared at her.

“I will not!” She looked taken aback.

“You can either do it because I told you to or I will command you to do it because you are flat out being disrespectful.”

“Estella, manners. She is right. We

I had another wave of motion sickness as the helicopter started to basically fall from the sky. This time, I had to cover my mouth with my hand to keep everything down. I had hoped by not eating breakfast that I would handle this better, but I was wrong. “You going to make it?” Justina laughed at me as I bolted out of the helicopter after it landed. My hands were on my knees as I tried to keep what little food I had in me down. “Doubtful.” I responded. We were in a new location than last time. Jet had told me this morning that he had some guys flying over and found a group of them in another cave. I guess they had killed some bears and were hanging around. “I’m not sure how you guys hunt or anything, but as soon as they figure out we are here, they will attack. You might be more adapted to killing them since they are more vampire than a wolf in that aspect.” I said. “I’m looking forward to this!” Cassius rubbed his hands together as he took off, leading us towards the vamolves.

As I stared into Jet’s eyes, the world drifted away. My heart dropped in my stomach as the realization of what Adron meant crashing into me. “This is all your fault.” I was to blame for this. How many creatures did he take with him? How many people are dying right now because of my actions? Are my parent’s alive? Jet stood up and started yelling commands, but I couldn’t hear what he said. It was all a blur. Flash backs of my birthdays and getting dressed up for dances danced in my watery vision. “Ivory! Snap out of it!” Jet grabbed my shoulders and shook me. “W-what?” I asked, looking into his eyes. “We are going to take our plane. I will get the warriors ready. Go get yourself ready to go and get my stuff laid out for me.” I stared at him, trying to comprehend what he was asking. “GO!” Shit. “Okay.” Turning, as fast as my legs could carry me, I ran up to our room and stripped as I did it. “All sections two and three warriors report for emergency attack. You have ten minutes

“Ivory…” Jet said in a sickening sweet, soft voice. My heart dropped as my eyes instantly filled with tears. “NO!” I yelled. “WHERE ARE THEY?” turning in circles, I looking around for someone to yell, ‘joking!’. “Follow me.” I turned back around to see Colt jog down the street. I couldn’t even feel the pavement under me as I jogged beside him. Each block we went, I was frantically searching for any signs of my parents. Just something, anything really. Maybe a shoe or maybe they had on a jacket. It wasn’t until Colt stopped jogging that I saw a group of three men standing and looking down. My eyes traveled to that ground to see two people laying there… not moving. “MOM! DAD!” I yelled as I started sprinting again. “IVORY!” Jet called behind me. I didn’t stop, I couldn’t stop. My legs somehow made it within six feet before I collapsed. Whoever the three people were, moved out of my way as I crawled to my parents. Cradling my mom’s head in my lap, the tears poured down my face.

“Ivory.” Sabrina said softly to me. “How could you let this happen?” My anger was rising, but it was out of my own pain. I didn’t really blame them, but I redirecting my anger. “I’m so sorry.” Althea came over and put her arm around me. It was comforting and something about her touch soothed me. I didn’t have any tears left to shed. “I can’t imagine the pain you are going through.” Sabrina said as she kneeled in front of me. I had collapsed in Althea’s arms. “The burial you gave them was beautiful.” It didn’t require an answer, but I accepted the compliment. “I got Orpheus on our side.” I wanted to change the subject. I felt them share a look, but thankfully, they didn’t push. “You did wonderfully. Now you just need to get to the witches.” Althea helped me stand up. “How do I do that?” I asked. “I can’t exactly tell you that, but I do have a few books that I think you will find enlightening and informative. They will be on your bed when you get home.” Sabrina said with a sl

The next morning came too quickly. After the night Jet gave me, I felt a little more ready to tackle the day. There is something to be said about using sex with our mate as a way to get all your emotions out. Reaching across the bed, only cold sheets met my hand. Lifting my head up slightly, from what I could see through my eyelashes, Jet wasn’t in bed. There wasn’t a note on his pillow, either. “Love?” I asked, through the mind-link as my head fell back against the pillow. I felt his humor. “How are you?” He asked with a slightly flirty tone. “Not sore enough.” I was being ornery. “Hmm, is that so?” I could physically see his eyebrow lift as his mouth twitched. “Might need you to come back and do that again.” I responded as I rolled myself up like a burrito, not ready to start my day. “As much as I would love to, it is almost noon and I am trying to get ready so we can leave tomorrow.” My heart crashed as reality came back to hit me. We still had a job to do, and that did

Ivory POV The second book I picked up was called, ‘Dynamics of a Coven’ Chapter 1 Understanding what a coven is will help you understand how they operate. Each coven has a mascot. Animals like a black bat, cat or even a crow. No two covens have the same animal that represents them. These animals are believed to be the souls of their ancestors. Coming back to help guide them in their future needs. The roles of each member of a coven are fairly unique to that coven. However, there is still a monarchy that is in place. A king and/or queen are at the top of the coven. However, the privilege of being king or queen is not passed down by being the firstborn, and in some cases, not even in the same genetic bloodline. They believe the spirit animal is in charge of picking who will be responsible for taking over the throne when ready. When a child is born, they will have the animals’ mark on them as well as have powers the rest do not. If that child is born to another family, that child i

Two little lines stared back up at me. It took away my breath to just see the reality of it. Without even thinking, my hand covered my abdomen. “P-positive?” I asked, but I knew I just needed to hear it. “That’s right. I am getting a little pup.” The pride and excitement that filled me from Jet was contagious. I seemed to be a little more nervous than he was, but his feelings gave me strength to feed off of. Jet gently guided me towards the couch and sat me on his lap. “How are you feeling?” “Shocked? Overwhelmed? Nervous? Excited? I’m not really sure. This wasn’t something that was on my radar.” “Me either, but I am thrilled to be pregnant. You will be the most beautiful pregnant woman. I didn’t think you could get any sexier, but just the thought of you carrying my child…” His tongue grazed my ear. “I don’t think I am in the mood. Can you just hold me tonight?” “Of course. Anything you want.” Jet picked me up bridal style and carried me to the bed. “Let’s turn in and call it

“I have no idea. That will be something you need to discuss with your moms.” Jet shook his head like he hadn’t thought of that. “Maybe it won’t or maybe it will help?” He way trying to help ease my concern. “No reason to get worked up over it, I guess. The only thing that might affect it is I tend to lose control if I get too emotional. With these added hormones, hopefully I can keep them in check. You will have to help me.” “Seriously? Help you keep your hormones in check? In the history of woman, when has telling them to chill out actually worked?” Jet looked at me like I was stupid. “I can see it now. I will tell you that you are over reaction and you will turn and hit me with a fireball.” Well, he wasn’t wrong. “Surely, you can handle a burn?” I teased. “I rather not. Maybe a code word?” “Maybe. That way if I hear it, I will know that you think maybe I am being too emotional.” “Yes. Let’s try that.” “But ground rules. You cannot tell me the code word if I am freaking out o

“We are here to serve you.” Their voice was like ice water running down my veins. “Why can’t Jet see you?” “We could allow him to if you wish?” “Yes.” “Holy moth-” Jet took a step back and wrapped his arm around me. “He is very much your boss as I am.” I said, wanting them to listen to him too. “Understood.” It was weird talking to them. “What is your role? What do you do?” I asked, trying to understand. “We are your servants. When someone needs to pass through, you signal us and we take them there. We are also your protectors. If danger is near, we will tell you.” “That is how Adron was able to always be a step head of us.” I said to Jet in the mind-link. “One of many ways.” Jet replied. “Can you take me to the underworld?” “Sure, if you wish.” One of them said. “However, you may not get to come back.” Another one said. “Why?” Jet asked. You could almost feel them shift their eyes to him. “You are still human. Portal is a one way unless you are a god. Since you are

There appeared to be a clear understanding from Spencer and Jameson. Calvin needed to go. His attitude was not that of a gamma, but of a cocky little shit. One second they were all looking at each other and the next, Calvin realised what was happening. “Whoa! Guys! Come on!” Calvin tried to plead his case as both men jumped him. Jameson took high as Spencer took low. Calvin surprised me with how much of a fight he put up. He managed to knee Spencer in the ribs and land a single punch to Jameson before he was officially knocked out. Once he was removed, it was just Spencer and Jameson. I was on the edge of my eat, trying to see who was winning. Jet was feeling rather anxious himself, which didn’t help mine. These men had trained together. Jameson had trained Spencer, so it was coach verse student. Spencer tried a submission move that Jameson counteracted. Jameson would go to deliver a combination, and Spencer would avoid it expertly. For five whole minutes, not a single blow was l

“Come on, it wasn’t that bad!” Jet was on the other side of my locked bathroom door. Humiliation and embarrassment filled me as I stripped naked and turned the shower on. I had fallen asleep before Jet was back. So, I was trying to make it up to him this morning, but the sexy lingerie I was trying to put on was not baby bell proof. It stuck out like a busted can of biscuits and even ripped the material. The worst part, Jet had walked into the closet to see where I had went and found me in front of the mirror. I was about to pull the one piece down but my stomach ripped a hole, my ass was eating the underwear and there wasn’t enough fabric to cover my nipple. It looked absolutely horrifying. To top it off, I was out of breath from trying to get into it. Jet’s eyes widened as he tried to hide a smile. So, naturally, I am hiding in the bathroom. It was easy to rip it off as my stomach had already started it. Dying of embarrassment was a true statement that never hit me so hard before.

“That was an exhausting day.” My ass was sore from riding Colt all day. It normally wouldn’t be but with this extra weight on my stomach, my posture was off. “Watching the obstacle course twelve times isss… rough. I got my twelve miles in today.” Wade sat down in the chair. Jet was wearing only was wearing his shorts. With his bare chest, it was hard to focus. These pregnancy hormones are no joke. Plus, it has been forever since we had sex. “Focus, afterwards we can do whatever you want.” Jet teased me in my mind. “ANYWAY.” I said, a little too loud. Jet smirked, and Wade looked slightly confused before choosing to ignore us. “Let’s just start at the top. Carol.” “She made quite a few mistakes.” Wade frowned as Jet pulled up the video of her running. “What is the scoring? Like five points per task?” I asked. “That would make 20 points total so that is good.” Jet said. “To start, she immediately stepped on a mine and got herself killed. She didn’t even look around to make s

Jet and I were angry as we exited our room. Not at each other, but the situation we were put in. I thought everything was behind us. We thought we could have a normal quiet life now with our pack and our child. Nope. Now we have to deal with this. What kind of toll is this going to take on me? On our child? “Whoa, that is some major aggression you both have today.” Susan said as we turned the corner into the foyer. Brent, Susan and Wade were waiting for us. I was a little surprised to see Susan. Ever since Megan was killed, she hasn’t come around much if it wasn’t about the baby. “Let’s get this over with.” Jet said as he kept walking past his family and towards the golf carts. Everyone had a surprised looks on their face as they watched him go and then turned and gave me a questioning look. “Later.” I said and followed him out, too. I couldn’t walk as fast, but I was happy to see Jet was waiting by the side of the cart to help me in. No one spoke as we made our awkward golf cart r

“Alright, we have our rankings!” Jet said as he held up his paper. “What are they?” I asked. Jet had kept the names to himself and just wrote the score down by the person. “There are a few ties, but here it is.” He laid it out in front of us. My eyes instantly went to find Jameson. He scored a 25 out of 30. A huge relief washing through me as I kept looking down the line. 19… 22…13… 26 wait? What? It was Carol. She scored one higher than Jameson on the critical thinking test. On the bottom of the paper, there was a list of each name from top ranking to bottom. Carol- 26Jameson-25Spencer-22Leroy- 22Peter- 21Calvin- 21Mark- 19Ethan-19Tyler- 19Anthony- 17Beau-15Dalton-13 “Interesting.” Wade said as he studied it. “Oh, this isn’t good for me.” Sitting down, the panic feeling started creeping back up. “Don’t worry. Jameson excels at obstacle courses. Actually, Leroy might give him a run for his money tomorrow. Even give Carol a heart attack.” Jet said as he grabbed a th

“Are we ready to go?” I was pacing in our office as Jet was finishing up each item on the critical thinking test. It had been a full week and I haven’t done anything but sit around and wait. Wait to go into labor, wait for Jameson to heal and even just wait for this tournament. There were a total of a dozen names on the paper. One female and the rest were males. “I’m finishing it now.” Jet said, slightly annoyed, but his patience was endless with me recently. I knew I was being a handful, but it was hard to relax. Susan had managed to get all the laundry done and put away, but there hadn’t been any progress in making a nursery. So I am worried about the nursery and worried about this tournament. I might have a heart attack before this is over. “You need to breathe.” Wade was sitting on the couch, watching me with a smile on his face. The fact that he found this funny was frustrating. “I’ll… I’ll… I’ll set you on fire!” I finally spit out at him. “We could put that in the obstacl

My feet were never so thankful to be wearing something so comfortable. I couldn’t imagine wearing heels or flats even. Not that I was full on waddling like Justina, but I could tell I was starting to get a sway. Jet gave me his arm to use as we made our way to the field. Brent and Wade had not shown up yet but I knew they weren’t that far behind. All the seats were filled. As we made our way to the front, I noticed everyone had mixed emotions about today. The thing is, I couldn’t tell if it was anger at me or anger at Jameson. There were some people crying, and some even looked happy. Happy his spot was open or happy because they didn’t like him? I couldn’t tell. “So many different emotions.” I commented in the mind-link. We had found our seats and sat down. Jameson and Samantha were standing ten feet from each other, with a baggy t-shirt. Samantha looked both scared and pissed off. Jameson just looked ashamed. “They hadn’t heard the full story, but rumors get spread. From what I
