I knew that voice and my eyes started to tear up as I turned to look at him in the face. He was staring at me like I was the most beautiful human in the whole world, but he was waiting for my reaction.
“Mate” I whispered. My hand came up and touched the side of his face. What felt like forever. He finally lowered his face and pressed his lips against mine. The kiss was the most magical thing I have ever experienced. His arms were wrapped around me, keeping my body pressed against his.
He finally ended the kiss, but kept his forehead to mine. “I have searched for you for so long. After our first meeting, I just knew that you were mine, mine to keep forever.” His voice was like music to my ears.
“*Cough, Cough*” came from beside us. I turned to see my dad looking at us.
“Dad, you know Alpha Jet, he is my mate!” I said as Alpha Jet moved me beside him as he kept his hand around my waist but was much more proper and respectful.
“Good Evening again, Alpha Nathaniel. It is true that I am your daughter’s mate. Please know that I will take care of her and treat her with nothing but respect.” Alpha Jet stated as he held out his hand. I watched nervously to see if my dad was going to take it or not. My mom was looking between dad and Jet too.
After a second, dad stepped forward and took Alpha Jet’s hand. “I appreciate the respect. I must insist on a meeting with both of you. At 7 am. I am not sure when you are leaving Alpha Jet, but I would appreciate giving Ivvy enough time to say goodbye and pack. Plus, having that meeting with myself.”
“Is this the kind of meeting my beta needs to attend?” Alpha Jet asked, slightly on the defense.
“Oh, he probably should be there. Nothing bad on my part!” dad held up his hands to show he really meant nothing bad. “Just something that needs to be discussed and since you are her mate, you will need to be informed of what the future holds for her.”
“What do you mean, dad?” I was slightly angry about that statement.
“Nothing that needs to be discussed here and now.” my mother chimed in. “Go enough your mate!”
“No, you are not going to bypass what you just said. You made a comment earlier today and now this. I want to know now what is going on!”
“I do apologize, but I must insist we discuss this now.” Alpha Jet stated.
That rubbed me the wrong way. “I guess you should know who you are mated to, to decide if you will still want me!” I was pissed and hurt.
“That is not what I meant. I will accept you regardless of what your dad tells us, but I don’t enjoy waiting on important information.” Alpha Jet said more sweetly to me as he rubbed my bad.
“Fine, let’s go to my office now.” Dad grumbled, and we followed him. I felt another presence beside me. Looking over, I saw the man that whispered in Jet’s ear earlier.
“The name is Wade. I am Alpha Jet’s beta.” He had more of a southern accent but was just as tall as Jet with a light brown hair.
“Ivory, but everyone calls me Ivvy.” I smiled at him as we walked into the office.
Dad sat in his chair, and mom sat in his lap. Jet sat in the chair directly in front of dad and pulled me down on his lap. I was slightly uncomfortable, but this is what mates do. His hand rested on my thigh but not in a sexual way and the other was under his chin, waiting.
“It is known that Ivory is not our biological daughter.” Dad started. Mom started fidgeting with her hands. Something she only does when nervous. “We found her in the forest, wrapped in a white silk blanket with a dove sewn into it. She had that necklace around her neck and it said Ivory, so we assume that was her name. Obviously, we picked her up and brought her home with the intention of finding her biological family. That night, Sabrina and Althea visited us in our dreams. The Moon Goddess and Mother Nature herself. They didn’t tell us why, but they told us that Ivory was their daughter and they placed her on this planet for its protection. They instructed us to raise her as our own. Once you turn 18, they said they would visit you and give you the rest of the information, but they instructed us to keep this knowledge to ourselves. So we did. We do not know why you were placed here.” Dad finished his story, and the room was silent.
“So, she is the daughter of the Moon Goddess and Mother Nature?” Alpha Jet asked to clarify it.
“Yeah, I don’t know the situation, but she was a product of a spell that they cast on themselves, so part of each of them was used to create Ivory.”
The room was silent as we absorbed the information. “If I was placed here for a reason by them personally, that means the world would be in danger and I am supposed to stop it?” I said it more to myself, but it was out loud for everyone to hear.
Alpha Jet squeezed my thigh, and his eyes became slits. I felt his feelings go through me with fierce protectiveness.
“So I did meet my real uncle then tonight…” I said, staring at my parents.
“I don’t know, Ivvy. I really don’t.” Mom said, shaking her head. She had tears coming down her face. “That changes nothing. We will always love you and accept you as our daughter. Hopefully, Alpha Jet can accept you as your mate.”
“Was that the man you look scared of tonight?” Alpha Jet asked me, surprisingly gentle.
“Yes, it was.” I looked at him as I answered. He nodded and leaned back in the chair.
“Will you still accept our daughter as your mate?” dad asked, squinting his eyes at Alpha Jet.
“Again, I was never not going to accept her. I too had a dream when I was a little boy. The Moon Goddess told me to never stop looking for my mate and told me under no circumstances am I to reject her. That I was meant to help guide her and help her fulfill her destiny.”
I was so shocked by this that I didn’t know how to feel. An hour ago, I was a normal teenager and now I am the daughter of Sabrina and Althea and I have this huge destiny that I need to fulfill. I barely registered the words that were being said around me.
“Thank you for accepting her. She has meant the world to us, and I know of your reputation. You will protect her at all costs. Obviously, you will have our full support and this needs to stay between us. No one else can know. Especially until you are fully mated so she can’t be stolen away. That was the whole reason of the party was to find her mate so she will be safe.”
I felt like they slapped me across the face. “What?”
“Everything we have done is to keep you safe, alive, and healthy. They sent you to us to protect you and raise you to be the best version of yourself, so when the time came to embark on this journey, you were ready.” My mother tried to reason with me.
I stood up and started pacing. I felt all their eyes on me, but mine were too full of tears to fully see them. I was just told my whole life is a lie. Everyone was told to love me by the gods and for what? “My whole life…” I trailed off, not finding the words to express how I feel.
I felt hands on my shoulders. The sparks told me who they belonged to. Turning me around, he pulled me into a deep hug. Burying my head into his chest, I let it all out. I am so pissed and hurt, but scared and confused about who I was. This can’t be real. The room was quiet as they just listened to me cry.
Finally, I shed all the tears I could and relaxed into Jet. I realized he had picked me up and was holding me on the couch. Sitting up, I pulled away from him, but not off of him. His hands allowed me to move, but I felt the resistance in them.
“I’m sorry. That was a lot of information to take in.” I said lamely.
“Ivvy, honey. We have taught you to be strong and fearless. To show no emotions, but that wasn’t meant for your mate or for your parents. That is for your enemy. You are allowed to feel. You are allowed to feel angry about this and confused but what you need to focus on is that we will always love you and will see you through this, till the end.” my mom pleaded from my dad’s lap, making no motion to get up. I realized I was now supposed to turn to Alpha Jet for comfort, not my parents. It was time to leave the nest and fly. I was raised that when I find my mate, I will leave and start a new life. How true that statement was.
“I understand. I…” the room started spinning and everything went black.
I hope you enjoy this story! It has been bouncing around in my head for awhile now!
The blackness turned to white and then to green. Grass erupted from nothingness like what you would see in the movie. An extremely large fountain materialized. It was a small pool with a dove standing in the middle, with water spraying into the air. The sky was light blue with small white clouds sprinkled through it. A warm, gentle breeze grabbed the base of my dress and exposed my legs. Walking to the fountain and sitting down on the edge, I just stared at the water. It wasn’t until I realized what I was seeing that made me gasp and jump up. Holy crap! Getting on my knees on the grass, I leaned over the edge and got as close to the water as I possibly could. I saw people walking down the street, cars driving and animals playing. It was like I was watching a movie through water. No way was this possible! Taking my hand, I went to dip it into the water. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” A soft voice startled me. Spinning around, I was greeted by the most beautiful women I have ev
I instantly felt defensive. “I dunno, just the first thing that I found. Feel free to change the channel. I rarely watch as much T.V. as it is.” “Oh? Why’s that?” Jet asked, he seemed seriously interested. “I’m usually outside or working.” I shrugged. I let myself relax into him. It felt natural and I fit perfectly into him. My pale skin glowed in the moonlight that was shining in from the open windows. It wasn’t a sexual tension but a comfortable atmosphere. A safe place. “You don’t get sunburned with your porcelain skin?” “Never. I guess it makes sense now why that is…” I trailed off, not sure what to say. I felt his concern go through me. “What are you concerned about?” I asked, without looking at him. “If you are okay.” He said quickly. I didn’t get any hint of a lie from him. Usually I can tell when someone is lying easily, and he wasn’t lying. “I will be. I… I just…” “Talk to me.” Jet said. He pushed the mute button and turned me so I was on my back. Adjusting the p
The next morning, I woke up to an empty bed. My eyes focused on the cold black silk sheet that was proof that he indeed was not beside me, but the dull ache between my legs and on my neck told me last night wasn’t a dream. That didn’t stop me from being pissed he wasn’t there. Throwing the covers off me, started stomping towards the door to go back to my room. It was only when my hand grasped the cold black metal door knob that I realized I was butt-ass naked. Shit! Looking around, I found his suitcase and the white button-up shirt he had worn last night. Thankfully, he is taller than me because the shirt came down to the top of my knees. Buttoning it up, I walked out of his room and went straight to mine. Never in my 18 years of life did I ever think I would do the walk of shame in my own fucking house at who the fuck knows what time it is. There wasn’t a single soul who met me, so it must still be early. The sun was peaking out over the trees and the birds had started chirruping.
“What’s wrong?” Jet asked. He was sitting across from me. His head was resting in his hand with his ankle back over his leg. He liked to sit like that I noticed. “Everything is so… impersonal here. No conversations, no one dared to speak, basically.” I said bluntly. “That is how I run things. I am fair, but no emotions. You can’t run a pack with your heart, you have to use your brain.” My jaw dropped at this. “Excuse me? You expect me, the daughter of the Moon Goddess and Mother Nature, to assist you in running our pack and NOT use my heart?” His heart did a flip when I said our pack. “Coming to terms with it, I see.” “You can’t expect me to sit quietly behind you and just look the part. I will not change who I am because you don’t like to use your heart.” “Rule number one, NEVER disagree with me in public. You can express your concerns in private. If you have ideas on things, you may bring them up to me in private and we can discuss things. I am not saying I will change ho
The plane landed on what looked like a private runway. No other planes were around, and the surrounding landscape was farming. Countless people were moving back and forth as they worked on their land or on the tractors. “We grow our own food and also distribute it. It is a large source of income for the pack. I, personally, have invested and own a few companies, but as a pack, we thrive off of those fields.” We walked to some golf carts looking things and got in. Jet was driving us as everyone else followed us. A winding road took us through some trees and up a narrow path. The forest was absolutely beautiful here. Life was everywhere I looked. The thick green forest floor with the blooming brush barely made the rabbits and squirrels visible. A deer started running beside us. It was a doe with two small fawns with spots still. They followed us for a good mile before they stopped at a stream for a drink. A large metal gate appeared before us. It looked like something out of the mo
“Oh, really?” I laughed as I pushed him off me and kept walking. Walking alongside of me, Jet still has lingering sexual feelings running through his veins. This will take getting used to. It’s not that I don’t mind him touching me every chance he gets, but I’ve had no one do that… well, I let no one do that. “Here was are, OUR room.” Jet made a deal about saying the word “our” like I was going to argue about sharing a room with him. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was the huge floor to ceiling windows. They were massive, as it overlooked the forest below. His room complimented that with warm neutral colors of green and browns. A fluffy olive green quilt sat on his bed with cream sheets. A wooden headboard framed the wall with lights above each end table. A T.V hung down on a system that looked like it went up into the ceiling if not used. A small kitchen sat on the right with a large livingroom area with a couch and a love seat. The vanity was off to the side and two doors on
“What’s that?” I asked as I walked over and grabbed my bags. “Jet is a huge romantic and softey. He just doesn’t like to show it. But he likes a bad girl too. The take charge and flaunt you authority kind.” Justina unzipped my bags and started putting things into piles. “We need to take you shopping!” “What’s wrong with my clothes?” I asked defensively, but I didn’t want to offend my new friend. “Very… conservative. You need something more sexy. Make Jet fall on his knees for you. “I don’t know… what if he gets mad my skin is showing?” “If you don’t show too much, he won’t care at all. There is a fine line and I am going to show you that. You are so beautiful on your own that you don’t need much but you will be my barbie!” Justina clapped her hands together as she started smiling. “Whatever you want.” I rolled my eyes as I walked my shirts to the closet. “Let’s hang them here.” Justina pulled out his shirts and stuck them on the other side of the walk-in closet. “You have th
My eyes left Jet as I made contact with Adron. His creatures were on all fours as they studied their prey. Every fiber of my being was telling me to not go to him, but I didn’t want Jet to get hurt! “Baby, come to me. We can defeat them. Don’t go to him. Come to me… please!” Jet mind-linked me. The vulnerability in his voice made my knees weak. “I don’t want you guys to get hurt because of me!” I replied. I was so scared that I doubt my feet would move. “Clock is ticking. You have one more minute to decide before I attack!” Adron promised. “Just come to me. If anything happens to you, I won’t forgive myself. Now, please!” Jet kept begging. Slowly, my foot raised up as I moved it back half a step before putting it down. That little movement wasn’t unnoticed by Adron. “The choice is yours. Now everything that is about to happen is all your fault, Ivory.” Adron said. Waving his arms, three more vamolves showed up and he disappeared. They put some distance between them as they look
Thank you all for reading Opal Eyed Luna! This has been a story that has sat in my mind for a year that I just needed to get out. However, as I wrote it, the story took a turn that I had not expected and it ended up being much longer than anticipated. Since I have read and recieved so much feedback about legnths of books, I have decided to make this part one with a possible part 2 if you readers enjoyed it! I am working on two others right now but I don't feel like I am ready to not see where Ivory and Jet go with her new job title! If you would like to see a book two, please let me know! I love hearing all your thoughts! As always, I do read each and every one of them. As much as I try to like or reply to them all, I have a toddler that I am trying to potty train so it is a little crazy in my house hold! My new book out is called Diamond Eyed Luna. That might be the last in this series, depending if I write a book 2 on this one. It is currently available and I will be posting regu
“We are here to serve you.” Their voice was like ice water running down my veins. “Why can’t Jet see you?” “We could allow him to if you wish?” “Yes.” “Holy moth-” Jet took a step back and wrapped his arm around me. “He is very much your boss as I am.” I said, wanting them to listen to him too. “Understood.” It was weird talking to them. “What is your role? What do you do?” I asked, trying to understand. “We are your servants. When someone needs to pass through, you signal us and we take them there. We are also your protectors. If danger is near, we will tell you.” “That is how Adron was able to always be a step head of us.” I said to Jet in the mind-link. “One of many ways.” Jet replied. “Can you take me to the underworld?” “Sure, if you wish.” One of them said. “However, you may not get to come back.” Another one said. “Why?” Jet asked. You could almost feel them shift their eyes to him. “You are still human. Portal is a one way unless you are a god. Since you are
There appeared to be a clear understanding from Spencer and Jameson. Calvin needed to go. His attitude was not that of a gamma, but of a cocky little shit. One second they were all looking at each other and the next, Calvin realised what was happening. “Whoa! Guys! Come on!” Calvin tried to plead his case as both men jumped him. Jameson took high as Spencer took low. Calvin surprised me with how much of a fight he put up. He managed to knee Spencer in the ribs and land a single punch to Jameson before he was officially knocked out. Once he was removed, it was just Spencer and Jameson. I was on the edge of my eat, trying to see who was winning. Jet was feeling rather anxious himself, which didn’t help mine. These men had trained together. Jameson had trained Spencer, so it was coach verse student. Spencer tried a submission move that Jameson counteracted. Jameson would go to deliver a combination, and Spencer would avoid it expertly. For five whole minutes, not a single blow was l
“Come on, it wasn’t that bad!” Jet was on the other side of my locked bathroom door. Humiliation and embarrassment filled me as I stripped naked and turned the shower on. I had fallen asleep before Jet was back. So, I was trying to make it up to him this morning, but the sexy lingerie I was trying to put on was not baby bell proof. It stuck out like a busted can of biscuits and even ripped the material. The worst part, Jet had walked into the closet to see where I had went and found me in front of the mirror. I was about to pull the one piece down but my stomach ripped a hole, my ass was eating the underwear and there wasn’t enough fabric to cover my nipple. It looked absolutely horrifying. To top it off, I was out of breath from trying to get into it. Jet’s eyes widened as he tried to hide a smile. So, naturally, I am hiding in the bathroom. It was easy to rip it off as my stomach had already started it. Dying of embarrassment was a true statement that never hit me so hard before.
“That was an exhausting day.” My ass was sore from riding Colt all day. It normally wouldn’t be but with this extra weight on my stomach, my posture was off. “Watching the obstacle course twelve times isss… rough. I got my twelve miles in today.” Wade sat down in the chair. Jet was wearing only was wearing his shorts. With his bare chest, it was hard to focus. These pregnancy hormones are no joke. Plus, it has been forever since we had sex. “Focus, afterwards we can do whatever you want.” Jet teased me in my mind. “ANYWAY.” I said, a little too loud. Jet smirked, and Wade looked slightly confused before choosing to ignore us. “Let’s just start at the top. Carol.” “She made quite a few mistakes.” Wade frowned as Jet pulled up the video of her running. “What is the scoring? Like five points per task?” I asked. “That would make 20 points total so that is good.” Jet said. “To start, she immediately stepped on a mine and got herself killed. She didn’t even look around to make s
Jet and I were angry as we exited our room. Not at each other, but the situation we were put in. I thought everything was behind us. We thought we could have a normal quiet life now with our pack and our child. Nope. Now we have to deal with this. What kind of toll is this going to take on me? On our child? “Whoa, that is some major aggression you both have today.” Susan said as we turned the corner into the foyer. Brent, Susan and Wade were waiting for us. I was a little surprised to see Susan. Ever since Megan was killed, she hasn’t come around much if it wasn’t about the baby. “Let’s get this over with.” Jet said as he kept walking past his family and towards the golf carts. Everyone had a surprised looks on their face as they watched him go and then turned and gave me a questioning look. “Later.” I said and followed him out, too. I couldn’t walk as fast, but I was happy to see Jet was waiting by the side of the cart to help me in. No one spoke as we made our awkward golf cart r
“Alright, we have our rankings!” Jet said as he held up his paper. “What are they?” I asked. Jet had kept the names to himself and just wrote the score down by the person. “There are a few ties, but here it is.” He laid it out in front of us. My eyes instantly went to find Jameson. He scored a 25 out of 30. A huge relief washing through me as I kept looking down the line. 19… 22…13… 26 wait? What? It was Carol. She scored one higher than Jameson on the critical thinking test. On the bottom of the paper, there was a list of each name from top ranking to bottom. Carol- 26Jameson-25Spencer-22Leroy- 22Peter- 21Calvin- 21Mark- 19Ethan-19Tyler- 19Anthony- 17Beau-15Dalton-13 “Interesting.” Wade said as he studied it. “Oh, this isn’t good for me.” Sitting down, the panic feeling started creeping back up. “Don’t worry. Jameson excels at obstacle courses. Actually, Leroy might give him a run for his money tomorrow. Even give Carol a heart attack.” Jet said as he grabbed a th
“Are we ready to go?” I was pacing in our office as Jet was finishing up each item on the critical thinking test. It had been a full week and I haven’t done anything but sit around and wait. Wait to go into labor, wait for Jameson to heal and even just wait for this tournament. There were a total of a dozen names on the paper. One female and the rest were males. “I’m finishing it now.” Jet said, slightly annoyed, but his patience was endless with me recently. I knew I was being a handful, but it was hard to relax. Susan had managed to get all the laundry done and put away, but there hadn’t been any progress in making a nursery. So I am worried about the nursery and worried about this tournament. I might have a heart attack before this is over. “You need to breathe.” Wade was sitting on the couch, watching me with a smile on his face. The fact that he found this funny was frustrating. “I’ll… I’ll… I’ll set you on fire!” I finally spit out at him. “We could put that in the obstacl
My feet were never so thankful to be wearing something so comfortable. I couldn’t imagine wearing heels or flats even. Not that I was full on waddling like Justina, but I could tell I was starting to get a sway. Jet gave me his arm to use as we made our way to the field. Brent and Wade had not shown up yet but I knew they weren’t that far behind. All the seats were filled. As we made our way to the front, I noticed everyone had mixed emotions about today. The thing is, I couldn’t tell if it was anger at me or anger at Jameson. There were some people crying, and some even looked happy. Happy his spot was open or happy because they didn’t like him? I couldn’t tell. “So many different emotions.” I commented in the mind-link. We had found our seats and sat down. Jameson and Samantha were standing ten feet from each other, with a baggy t-shirt. Samantha looked both scared and pissed off. Jameson just looked ashamed. “They hadn’t heard the full story, but rumors get spread. From what I
