“Belle, open your eyes,” Ethan's voice guards me off.

I flinch and open my eyes quickly, my head still laying on Ethan's shoulder. I look here and there. We're still in the car.

“Did I sleep?” I ask, turning my face slightly to Ethan.

He flashes a warm smile and nods. “Yes, you did,” he retorts.

“I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I felt so safe and comfortable. That's why.”

“It's my pleasure, Belle. That you felt safe and comfortable with me,” he says, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. Whenever he does it, my heart flutters badly.

As soon as we reach the venue, the driver pulls the car to the side and stops it. Stepping out of the car, he opens the car's door for Ethan. Ethan walks around to my side, and opens the car's door for me, giving me his hand.

I sigh and hold his hand tightly, stepping out of the car. Ethan helps me adjust my dress and hair. How cute he is!

I grasp his arm gently, and we both walk further in. The venue is elegantly decorated with twinkling f

“By the way, happy birthday darling,” I say playfully. Emily, fuming with rage, walks away from me without saying anything. I roll my eyes and turn to look for Ethan. He's nowhere to be seen. As someone grasps my wrist and pulls me, I turn my head slightly. I see Ethan appearing out of nowhere, saving my head with his hand from Emily’s wrath, who attacks with a bottle. The bottle shatters on his forearm, the sound echoing in the whole place. We both flinch, but miraculously he's not injured. Small shards of glass scatter, but no blood is drawn. But now, my blood boils in anger. I glare into Emily's eyes, my chest heaving up and down due to my outrage. How dare she! Ethan could be injured. She was wanting to hurt me, but Ethan came to protect me. What if his hand could start bleeding? Tangling my hand in Emily's hair, I grasp her hair and yank her towards me. “Belle, what the heck are you doing?” she cries out, her breathing coming in gasps as her hands fly to her head. Still

Hearing his words, I burst into tears and cling to him, embracing him in a tight hug by wrapping my arms around his neck, and crying my heart out. He hugs me back and lets me cry as much as I want. Aiden knows I don't know how to swim. Still he pushed me. Did he ever love me at all? How can a guy be like him? Cheater! Playboy! Liar! After a few minutes, I feel better, still lost in his arms, my eyes are closed. I don't know if it's his masculine cologne, his masculine touch, or my growing feelings for him that makes me feel safe and comfortable around him, I just feel at ease under his touch. Something is truly different with him. Everything seems peaceful. I recall every memory of our last night. How handsome he looked above me—even when he was sweating. How hot he looked when he bit his lower lip while he was thrusting inside me. How he said he loves me at the rooftop of the building. It was unexpected. And how he protected me from Aiden. He was his best friend. It touched my h

We continue walking further on the roads. People might be perceiving us as mad, but who cares? I'm loving it. I wish we can stay forever like this—hands in hands, walking on the road, and talking to each other. It's peaceful. “Why did you stop? Spill the beans, Mr. Wilson. Cough it up.” “I thought you were getting bored,” Ethan says. “No. Not at all. I want to know more about you.” “Now, I'm carrying on their legacy. Their companies, their vision…it's all in my hands now. I'm determined to make them proud. Everything's officially mine. Uncle and aunt managed everything on behalf of me until I turned eighteen.” This guy can literally do anything. He does everything all alone at a young age. I love his maturity. “Why did you learn hacking?” I ask curiously. “Just like that. I enjoy learning new skills,” he retorts. “And you used that skill on me out of everyone.” I glare into his eyes. We both giggle then at the same time. “I just wanted to make sure Aiden doesn't hurt you

As soon as we reach his penthouse, he helps me stand up. My body is badly shivering from the cold. Ethan grasps my wrist and takes me inside the room, throwing my bag and heels gently on the sofa. “Take a hot shower. You'll feel better. I will cook something. We didn't eat anything there,” he says, caressing my cheek with his thumb. “Presume it as your own room. Okay.” I nod. He pecks my forehead softly. Pulling away from me, he starts to unbutton his shirt and throws it away. He removes his hair tie and reaches out for a towel. I'm gawking at his chiseled abs as he begins to brush his hair with the towel. I turn hurriedly and run inside the bathroom, otherwise I'll end up getting horny for him. After removing my clothes, I tap the hot shower on, but it doesn't help. My body is aching and still feeling the same cold seeping inside my bones. I'm sure as hell I'm going to catch a fever. Wrapping a towel around my body, I step outside; and stepping towards the closet, I open the

I step outside the room. Walking further in, as I see Ethan cleaning our leftovers, I take hurried steps towards him, wanting to embrace him in a tight hug. I recall the memories of our past meetings. I always spilled bitter words for him. I hated him, even when he didn't do anything bad with me. I feel so guilty for behaving that way. Without any warning, I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him tightly from behind. Tears escape down from my eyes, as I put my head on his back. He said he'll turn my hatred into love, and he did it. He has won one more time, and this time I'm not feeling a bit sad about losing to him. “You've won again, Ethan,” I murmur, choking with emotions. “What happened?” he asks calmly. “I’m sorry. Accept my apology. Please,” I sob, feeling guilty for the way I've treated him till date. “There's nothing to be sorry about,” he says, pulling himself away and turning slightly to face me. “And first tell me, for what reason should I accept your apology?”

Taking rapid breaths, I pull away and brush my fingers on his abs; and then, as I trail my fingers down, I kneel down, grab his pants, and pull it down shamelessly. My heart races, seeing his arousal hard in front of my eyes. I smile mischievously. Locking my eyes with his, I let my fingers wander lower, teasingly skimming over his skin, feeling his muscles tense under my touch. He lets out a groan, his breath quickening. “Take it into your mouth, sweetheart,” he demands. “What?” I ask, continuing teasing him. “You know what I'm talking about,” he murmurs. My fingers continue teasing him, his body responding with his growing arousal. I lean in closer, replacing my fingers with the tip of my tongue. My own desires are growing more for him. I lick a slow, deliberate line, watching his reaction. “Belle, stop it now. Take it into your mouth,” he moans and closes his eyes, tangling his fingers in my hair. I stop and stand up on my feet. “Why do you love me Belle?” Ethan whispers, his breath brushing against my skin. I turn my head slightly, lock my eyes with his, and take his hand in mine, tangling my fingers between his. “You make me feel things…I never knew were possible,” I murmur and kiss the back of his hand. He leans to me, pulling me for a kiss. His closeness fills me with a sense of contentment and joy. His warmth against my back sends tingles through my body. My muscles relax feeling secure and safe under his strong yet gentle touch. I don't want this moment to end—forever. I want to stay like this forever. I wish I could. He pulls away and locks his eyes with mine, hugging me tighter. “Belle, I am not that guy they show in romantic movies,” he begins to say, caressing the back of my hands. “I make mistakes, I have flaws, and you already know…the decisions I make are questionable. Sometimes you won't be able to understand the reason behind my decisions, you'll start hating me then…again.” “Do you k

Then, why did you ask me…for a date suddenly? And why did you ask Anna to talk to me?” “I heard rumors that you are dating someone secretly. I thought I never even saw you talking to any boy in a romantic manner,” he pauses then and lets out a gasp. “I felt horrible. I thought the whole day and night, what if it could be true! • Only Regrets   Epilogue 2

The next day, overwhelmed by the realization that the boy from Corsica is actually Ethan, I decide to leave Sofia. I head to Corsica, hoping to relive the feelings and memories from my childhood, to see if they can help me understand the emotions that have been haunting me.The waves gently lap at the shore as I sit alone on the familiar sand of Ajaccio Beach, the place where our story began. The sun is setting, casting the sky in a warm, orange glow, but all I can feel is the cold emptiness in my heart, all I feel is the heavy weight of unanswered questions pressing down on me.I close my eyes, and in my mind, I can see Ethan sitting beside me, just like we used to. I lean my head on his shoulder, feeling the familiar comfort of his presence, even if it’s only in my imagination.“Why, Ethan?” I whisper, my voice trembling with the ache in my heart. “Why did you leave me waiting all these years? Why didn’t you come back for me?”Tears spill over, sliding down my cheeks as I continue,

  • Only Regrets   Epilogue 1

I fold the letter and slip it into an envelope, carefully writing ‘A Letter I'll Never Give to Ethan’ on the front. I place the envelope in the book Beauty and the Beast, alongside the first rose Ethan gave me, the one I have pressed between the pages. With a deep sigh, I shut the book, trying to push away the lingering sadness.Just then, my phone rings. I answer, and my heart skips a beat when I hear it's a modeling contract offer.“Hello, Belle?” a voice on the other end says. “We’re thrilled to inform you that your first major modeling contract has been finalized. You’ll be featured on a billboard in Paris.”My eyes widen in disbelief. Paris—the city where fashion dreams come true—is where my face will be showcased. The excitement and pride swell inside me as I thank the caller and hang up, my mind racing with the reality of this incredible milestone. As soon as I hang up, tears well up in my eyes. This is my first major contract, a clear sign that my hard work is paying off. Over

Ethan looks more grown-up now. If I'm twenty, he might be twenty one, I guess. He looks more like a man than the teenage boy I remember. He still has that same cold, intense look in his dark brown eyes and his jaw remains tight, just like before. But now, these expressions are framed by a more mature face. Seeing Ethan taking slow, deliberate steps toward me, my heart begins to pound so hard that I can hear it echoing in my ears. Everything around us fades away, leaving just the two of us, lost in each other’s gaze. I can’t move, can’t think—only feel the magnetic pull between us growing stronger with each step he takes. “Are you really here?” I whisper, as he finally reaches me, my voice trembling with disbelief.“Yes, I’m here,” he replies softly, his eyes shimmering with tears.Tears brim in my eyes as I lock my eyes with his. “I don't believe it,” I mumble. Seeing him here now feels like a dream I don’t want to wake up from. “I'm imagining you.”It has been two years since we sa

  • Only Regrets   Chapter 101

It has been two years since I left New York City and Ethan behind. Now, at twenty, my life has changed dramatically. I’m thriving as a model, spending long days and nights on my modeling career. Photoshoots, fashion shows, and casting calls fill my calendar, leaving little room for anything else. When I'm not modeling, I'm handling my father's hotels and resorts businesses, trying to prove myself in a world that demands so much. It feels amazing, earning money by myself at this young age. In the whirlwind of responsibilities and ambitions, I've almost forgotten about love. Due to my busy schedule, I've completely let go of the idea of relationships and dating now. Two years have passed, and my shoulder-length hair—that had once been trimmed by Aiden—now falls comfortably to my mid-back. While it’s not as long as it was before, it has grown out beautifully, mirroring the changes and growth in my own life.I had been taking my medications and therapy sessions for schizophrenia as well,

The journey back to Sofia feels like a blur. I sit in the private jet with my father, staring out the window but seeing nothing. My mind is consumed with thoughts of Ethan, the pain of our separation pricking my heart. Once we land, I retreat into the familiarity of our mansion, but it offers no comfort. Days turn into weeks, and weeks into months, yet the ache remains. I isolate myself, shutting out the world and everyone in it. My parents are frustrated with my demeanor, especially my mother, who doesn’t understand why I’ve stopped caring about everything I once loved. In the solitude of my room, time seems to stretch endlessly. I spend hours staring out the window, feeling no shift in my own heart. The walls of my room, once comforting, now feel like a cage. Every object, every corner, reminds me of Ethan, of what we had, and what I’ve lost. And Ethan's hallucinations make it even harder to forget about him. “Belle, you need to get out of this house,” my mother snaps one day from

  • Only Regrets   Chapter 99

As graduation day approaches, the excitement that usually accompanies the end of high school is overshadowed by a deep sense of melancholy. I’ve spent the past few days packing up my belongings, preparing to leave the dorm that has been my home for these formative years. Every item I pack feels like a piece of my past being sealed away, and the act of boxing up my life brings an unexpected weight to my chest. The day arrives with its usual pomp and ceremony. The campus is filled with graduates in their caps and gowns, the air buzzing with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. The graduation ceremony itself is a blur of speeches and applause. I’m called up to receive my diploma, a moment that should have been filled with pride and joy. Instead, it’s tinged with sadness, as I feel the weight of everything that has happened. The graduation ceremony is also the final chance to see everyone before we all go our separate ways. Friends and acquaintances gather for one last hurrah. The atmosphe

I push open the heavy wooden doors of the church, the familiar creak echoing softly through the quiet space. I walk down the aisle, my footsteps muted by the worn carpet, and make my way to my usual spot—a solitary pew in the corner. The church is dimly lit, shimmering with a soft glow from the candles flickering by the altar. I sit down, feeling the weight of my heart pressing heavily on my chest. I bow my head, folding my hands in my lap, and let out a shuddering breath."God, it’s me again," I whisper, my voice trembling with emotion. "I’m not sure how to start this conversation. I don’t even know where to begin."I close my eyes, trying to steady my racing thoughts. Ethan’s face flashes in my mind, and my tears begin to fall, tracing hot lines down my cheeks."I don’t understand why things had to end this way. I wanted so much more. I thought we had a chance, a real chance to be happy together."I take a deep breath, trying to calm the storm inside me."He said he loved me, but I

Ethan comes running behind me, asking me to stop for a second. As I keep on walking on the road, my vision blurs by the car headlights. Ethan yells, his voice filled with panic and anger.I can hardly breathe, my heart pounding from the close call. I look up at him, and his eyes are filled with a mixture of relief and fury. My mind feels like it’s spinning, and I can’t tell what’s real or just a trick of my mind. Everything around me seems to blur, and I feel disconnected from my own thoughts. It’s like I’m trapped in a fog, struggling to understand what’s happening.I'm just done with my life. The schizophrenia makes it hard to define for me what's real or what's hallucination. I've literally gone mad. It would be better if I would have bumped into that car. Why did he pull me back?“Why the hell are you he
