Chapter 27

It was a very cold and sad morning when Kian felt everything around him was crumbling, he couldn't begin the search for Vivian because grandfather was in a bad state. As he sat by his grandfather's bedside, holding his frail hand and trying to offer what little comfort he could, Kian's mind raced with thoughts of Vivian's disappearance and the eerie feeling that she was in grave danger.

The old man's eyes fluttered open, and he gazed at Kian with a mix of sadness and urgency. "Find...Vivian," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Kian nodded, feeling a lump form in his throat. "I will, Grandfather. I promise."

Just then, the door creaked open, and Martha entered the room, her eyes red from crying. She approached the bed, and Grandfather Edward's gaze shifted to her. He looked at her with a deep sadness and regret.

"Martha, I made a mistake accepting you for my son," he said slowly, his voice weak but filled with emotion. "Even though I knew what you were capable of, I still accepted
