Chapter three đź’•

" You think I am going to have to find him, so he can speak to the nightmares?" Rolape asked him rather.

"Find him, yes, speak to the nightmares, well indirectly. If we get some information, it means we have something to do to make the nightmare stop."

"I think, the person is irrelevant."

"Why?" Temi asked.

"I don't know. I just strongly believe."

"What do we do now?" He dropped the notebook

"I think we have to intensify on project plastics, make results and see things clearly, " Rolape said covering up her body with her blanket.

"And we need to be fast and thoroughly intensify indeed" Temi said eagerly.

"I'm not sure how much of a life I have Temi... With the air all choked up when I wake up." Rolape gazed with the look of a puppy eager to meet an owner.

"Is that all part of it?" Temi asked

"Yes. Very much part of it"

Temi sat on her bed beside her.  "Listen to me, you've got to stay... We have got to be aggressive about the plastics so you can get liberation on time, I  am begging you." Temi begged.

Rolape looked at him, wondering how much she can try hard, for that's all she has left- to only try.

She sighed.

"Stay with me" Temi said, it sounded more like he needed her confirmation.

Temi stood up from her bed to walk towards the window above her bed, he could see the street from there

"unless we just_ you know- assent to you seeing the -" Temi started and he was cut short by Rolape's inquisitive remark.

"the doctor?"

"Uhn? Uhm- no. I meant the psychiatrist." Temi answered.

"What?!" Rolape said really shocked.

"Rolape, we can scale through it if you take this well and you see that it's all for your healing"

" I can't believe you are also saying this to me, I'm not crazy!"

"But you have something to heal from?" Temi went back to sit on his chair.

Rolape covered her face and sobbed, finding it despicable that those around her want her to go to where mentally ill people go to for healing. "Leave my room! I can realize how useless I am without you or anybody here to rub it in! Leave!"

Temi finds it unbearable what his sister is going through and right now he doesn't seem to know how to make any of it better. He didn't leave the room, reasonably, he removed her hands covering her face revealing a sober tear smeared eyes and cheeks to him, "You are not useless!" He declared. "But I want you to know that I want you to heal! And I will do everything to make sure I don't lose out on any chance that could be possible healing for you"

Rolape didn't remove her hand from her face.

"Okay?" Temi sort for affirmation.

"I don't want to go to the psychiatric hospital. I love the planet. You would see. Just wait for me... I will make progress."

Temi sighed.

And they both felt breeze. It's like the rain was going to start again.

"She coughed uncontrollably leaving her to feel very tired" Madam Remi, a light skin woman who is in her late forties, the chief maid in the house reported about Rolape's hysteria to Temi as she rested her hands on the kitchen Island with her uniform apron showing that she is the chief maid. Temi was also not too far away from the kitchen, at the bar beside it, pouring some fruit wine into an imperial glass cup. "You know you should take tea," she told him.

"Tea makes me sleep" he replied, taking the cup to his mouth.

"What about coffee?" She asked

"Coffee makes people stay hysterically awake" he replied her again. She smiled. He wore a harsh colored suit, looking responsibly handsome, dark and glassy, she observed. Their dad was dark skinned, thoroughly dark without apology, while their mum was the opposite. Very light skinned, she could have almost been an albino, but she wasn't. And the children, they took the contrast complexion of their parents but very much beautifully with each having pink lips that was an obvious compensating gift for children whose parents don’t care about them.

"How is she now?" Temi asked.

"The young girl must continue with her life, she encouraged me to excuse her."

Temi sighed, remembering that the cough was all part of the dream. He couldn't understand why a person will be made to live deliriously and yet she seemed to be getting used to it. He took another sip of the wine. "You can go to attend to other things madam Remi"

"Yes sir" she left him going to supervise the other maids' cleaning.

"Good morning to you, good morning to you, good morning to you, good morning to you, good morning,  good morning, good morning to you!" Rolape sang looking radiating as she climbed down the stairs, she wore a pink thick skin gown, long sleeve, and a brown boot.

Temi smiled, beaming at her knowing she doesn't deserve to see a psychiatrist.

"Do you think the rain is going to pour today?" She asked him as she brought out another stool to sit beside her brother. "I checked the weather forecast, thankfully no" Temi replied her.

"Thank God!"

A young slim maid brought food covered on a tray and placed it on Rolape's side of the cabinet, and a glass of juice. "Thank you," Rolape told her as she opened and dug into the toasted bread having so many delicious and wonderful taste. "Oh God, I'm so hungry... hmm"

"Okay so, did you read or you slept?" Temi asked

"You know, the coffee helped, I read and privileged to be productive in many but the coffee aided the bed wetting as usual, as I couldn't fight to not sleep for long. If I had not taken coffee at all, the weather would have won" Rolape said as she took in some juice.

"Yeah" Temi replied her distantly.

"Let's talk about your own life..." Making sure the bread got into needed areas in her body.

"I'm taking you to school today," Temi said rather.

"Hmm Well, I want to tell you about Ree-"

Temi looked keen at her obviously interested in the new topic.

"Something to get her attention-- tell her she's intelligent, teach her, encourage her, anything academic, I think... Tie that to her emotions, help her" Rolape looked at Temi. His pupil dilated and Ro gave a short laugh.

"W-why is that?" Temi asked.

"She has a phobia for failure, I get, I am on a 3.5, but she's is on a 4.4, and even Esther is on a 3.8, but she wants a first-class like no other business. Every student wants it but -- she's unpredictable. I don't know why she lacked so much self belief in herself. I mean she doesn't have to see Sariana and jojo" Rolape chuckled.

Temi smiled. "She should study well." He said.

"You don't understand... Oh no, you don't understand at all. She stays at a state of 'want'"

"Oh"

Rolape had finished her meal and finished drinking in the orange flavored juice as well. Picking up a soviet to clean up her mouth. They walked to the doorway as Temi yelled: "Take good care!"

" and you too!" Madam Remi yelled back

"Why didn't you tell me this about Ree, before?"

"I thought you knew."

They walked to the garage, got into Temi's Jeep, had seat belts on while Temi started the car.

"Give one word for each of the following descriptions by choosing a term from the list below." The Lecturer, whom Esther considered to be too balded to be young and married; the light shone on his fair head; said and paused. That was an assignment. The girls wrote from the projector while the man read from his laptop on the laptop stand. They were having their third lecture for the day.

The slide changed again and the Lecturer read "tertiary sector|duopoly|urban|cartel|Leading indicators|CPI|Rural|PPI|Secondary sector|Lagging indicators

One... Net new companies registered.

Two... Collusion between oligopolies to form a collective monopoly.

Three... The sector that contributes most to total production in the Nigerian economy.

Four... These indicators measure increases in the cost of production.

Five... Most of the indigenous tourist attractions are situated in these areas. " Dr. Wole dropped.

"This assignment is to be submitted on the 2nd of June to your course rep, 10 am latest. Clear?" Without waiting for an answer, he packed up his teaching facilities with the help of Nuru, the male Class representative who had rushed up to the podium to help him.

"I'm thinking number five has got to be 'rural'" Esther said to her girl teammates while the whole class also broke into rowdy.

"Yeah, we'd see about that" Ree said as she turned sideways to dip into her bag her purple hard cover notes, Rolape's hardcover note was orange, Esther's was yellow and they did the same to their notes.

"Girls! We have E.S to talk about --there is a plan and a new turn to take" Rolape declared.

"Hmm... Okay" Ree said.

"What's the plan?" Esther asked. Rolape had already brought out a file of printed copies.  Gave one to each of them, which contained a Table of local places including Akoka, categories of Local people including men, women and children with different types of trades as well as gift items for different categories.

"ExplanĂşreÂż" Esther inquired.

"Remember how Mary Manchester accused me of springing up a protest and also said indirectly that if I make some actions then my purpose will be more revolutionary"

"Did she?" Esther sounded rhythmic

"Oh yea, she did" Rolape followed the melodic pattern playfully.

"All I have been doing is creating awareness! And that belongs to the elite. We can all agree that Progress is needed with Environmental Stakeholders. And the local people seem to be the dirty ones"

Ree laughed.

"Why?" Esther asked Ree.

"You can't go telling people they are the dirty ones" Ree pointed out.

"Right. Which is why we are going to educate them... And motivate them!"

"Ooooh -oo" Esther bewildered.

"With the gifts..." Ree stated.

"With the gifts" Rolape affirmed.

He is very heartless” Esther corroborated.Rolape sighed. The news of Danny’s house being blown up had been shared on the class group chat. Danny himself had shared it with pictures. Rolape felt sweats were in her armpit. And on her forehead too. And on her palm. Danny was lying, he was! He could have taken some pictures he found online and shared that. Or he was trying to extort and apply some blaspheme? “please, lets just focus on our assignment.” Ro’s voice sounded broken.“are you sure you can focus?” Ree asked.Rolape felt she might need to go to the rest room. “I didn’t blow up his house,
