Chapter 4 Woman, What Are You Doing.

Ethan knew they were backed against a corner and admitting defeat was currently their best option.

Begrudgingly, he got down on his knees, pulling a fuming Raquel down along.

“We’re sorry, Giselle. What Raquel did was wrong and she crossed the line. Please forgive her.” He apologized, head bent down.

Giselle wasn’t satisfied. Last she remembered, she told them both to apologize, not Ethan alone.

Turning her attention towards Raquel, she spoke. “Have you suddenly gone mute, Raquel? I didn’t hear your apology.”

“I… I’m sorry, G-Giselle. I shouldn’t have… behaved such a way.” The rose blonde managed to get out, clenching her fist hard enough for her long pointy nails to draw blood.

Apologies, that was one thing Raquel hated doing. Giselle had seen that as a bad trait of hers when they were still friends, but endured it due to their friendship.

The clicking of camera flashes went off, filling the event hall with noises. Raquel dare not raise her head in the shameful position she was in.

“That’s enough.” Giselle waved her hand dismissively. “Get up and get out. I don’t want to see your faces around here again.” She turned around, bowing politely to the crowd of onlookers. “I’m sorry for the disruption everyone. It’s that time of the month for her so my friend is a bit grumpy. I apologize.”

Everyone chuckled at her speech, glancing over at the embarrassed rose blonde before heading back to their table one by one.

Giselle sighed, feeling the tension leave her body as the crowd reduced into nothing.

“Don’t expect your project to launch into society after you pulled off something like this. And don’t ever let it cross your mind to ask me for support going forward or else I’ll make sure your company’s name is wiped off the business chart.”

Giselle flinched at the sound of Ezra’s voice, turning back around to see Ethan and Raquel now on their feet, glaring at her.

Giselle widened her eyes in disbelief ‘Those punks.’

“Leave. Now!”

Ethan gave a subtle nod and turned around to leave, dragging along his fiancée who looked like she was about to tear Giselle apart any second from now.

Giselle stared back, not breaking eye contact until they were out the doors and it had closed shut.

The brunette sighed, turning her gaze to her fiancée only to see him staring at her. It was only sensible that he had question. Any reasonable person would.

Giselle took a step forward and lowered her voice. “I’m sorry about that. It won’t happen again.” She apologized, stopping herself in the last minute before she could lower her head in front of numerous people.

.

“Such a mistake will not have the opportunity to repeat itself. But don’t think you can keep me in the dark like a fool.”

Giselle felt chills run up her spin. She fully understood the meaning behind his words. Ezra adjusted his suit and once again offered his arm, only this time, she hesitated before taking his arm.

*******

The engagement ceremony successfully came to a close. But that was only the start of Giselle’s problem. She was stunned beyond believe after Ezra had announced an after party for their engagement, which was taking place two floors above.

Turning towards her, he beckoned the brunette over. Giselle slowly approached him, still too stunned to grasp the situation.

“Nadia has already prepared a new set of cloth for you. Go with her and get changed.” He instructed.

“You didn’t tell me there would be an after party.” Giselle cocked her head to the side.

“I don’t have to tell you about my every decision.”

“Don’t you think I have the right to know about decisions involving me? I am your Fiancée after all.”

Ezra scowled. “Remember your place.”

Giselle took a step forward, raising her head so she could look at Ezra in his eyes. This height thing really wasn't working in her favor . “I never forgot it. That is the least a civil person should do, Ezra.”

Ezra’s scowl morphed into a wicked smirk as he took a step of his own forward, closing some of the distance between them.

“Are you lecturing me?” He asked with a glint in his eyes. A glint that once spotted, made Giselle take a step back.

“N-no. I… I’m just… trying-"

“Well it looked to me like you were.” Ezra took another step forward, watching as Giselle took two steps back. “How bold of you.” Ezra continued to step forward, slowly pushing the brunette in front of his towards a table.

Giselle realized how quickly the distance between them was vanishing. Sadly there was only a few people left in the hall, mostly staffs cleaning up, one third of the guests had left to get changed in a suit of their own assigned to them by Ezra. As if like a reminder, her breathing picking up, memories of what happened at the hotel resurfaced like a fresh incident.

“I’ve already said that’s not what I was doing, so please stop.” She stretched her arms forward, palms connecting with Ezra chest and stopping the man in his tracks.

‘Sturdy.’ Giselle’s thoughts took a whole three-sixty in direction. Slowly, she moved her fingers, trying to feeling up as much of his chest as she could, while not making it too obvious.

“Wow.” She mused.

“Woman, what are you doing?”

As if finally realizing what she was doing, Giselle furiously withdrew her finger and stepped back, bumping into the table behind, luckily no glasses rolled off.

“Huh?!” Giselle exclaimed. “I-I wasn’t doing anything!” Her cheeks and ears took on a dark shade of red as she begun rubbing the back of her neck. “Where’s Nadia? N-Nadia?!” She called out, rather too loudly for someone who claimed to not have done a thing.

A cute looking red hair ran up to her, hands folded behind her back. She looked somewhere between the age of twenty-two or four, as she wore a bright smile on her lips. “Yes Mrs. Heinrich?” She enthusiastically answered, having a spring in her step as she haulted.

“Nadia?” Giselle confirmed to which the girl nodded. “Let’s go. Do you have my other dress prepared?”

“Yes Mrs. Heinrich.”

“Then let’s go.”

Ezra watched with folded arms as Giselle walks of flustered, her ears turning redder with every passing second.

“It’s on the sixth floor.” Ezra called out, the huge hall echoing his chuckle at the end.
