What if I'm something more?

Rain's POV.

I'm screaming at the top of my voice, thrashing against the seat belt as the car speeds toward the bridge.

Don't move further.

We're going to die.

I'm going to die!

The words rumble with an endless whirl in my mind. It's about to end. Everything I've lived for.

My heart hammers against the wall of my chest, threatening to escape its confines. No matter how I scream or thrash my hands against the seat belt. No matter what I do, death still stands in wait for me.

I watch with dreary eyes as the car speeds past the guardrail and we tumble into the river. Cold suffuses me. But what snuffs my life out of me more is the water.

It's clawing fast around me, spelling death. I try to whoosh them out but it's nearly impossible.

The moment I quit trying, darkness consumes me, taking me further into its abyss of doom. I'm doomed.

I gasp, propping up with force at the dream. My eyes whip open and I'm greeted by the harsh morning sunlight.

"Eww," Hissing, I bash my eyes close
