Jack stirred in bed. Then stretched and sent his hand out to the other side of the bed, expecting to find the person he had spent the night with there. He really didn't like the part where he had to tell them to leave, but he couldn't refuse a second round.
But to his surprise, there was no one there. Jack frowned then opened his eyes tiredly. The bed was empty. Yes, the sheets were ruffled. But that was the only evidence someone had been with him.
He stayed silent for a while, trying to listen for noise from the bathroom or the kitchen. Maybe she had gotten hungry or had felt the urge to pee. Or maybe take a shower.
But there was nothing. No sound. Jack frowned. He had vague memories of last night. Dancing. Drinking. Leaving with a girl. Then it was a blur.
He rubbed his head and groaned. Jack did not know what he had gotten into. He never drank that much. But apparently last night he had let loose, and gotten inebriated enough to have sex with a total stranger. He just hoped he had worn a condom because he really did not need an unpleasant surprise on his next trip to the doctor.
He swung his legs over the bed and got down. It had been a long time since he had had casual sex. About three years to be exact. When a girl he had had a one night stand with tried to pin a pregnancy on him. Luckily enough, his mother took care of it.
He yawned and went to the bathroom. He was happy that the girl didn't stay long enough for them to have an weird conversation and maybe him having to kick her out.
Yeah, sex was great. But having to talk to someone after you guys and exchanged nothing but bodily fluids was not really the number one on Jack's list.
As soon as he was done taking a bath, Jack's phone rang. It was Lucy. His personal assistant and one of his closest friends.
"Suz?"
"Yeah, Jack we have a problem," was all she said and Jack sighed. Today was supposed to be the day he finally had rest.
"Can't it wait?" Jack asked.
"Nope," Lucy replied. She was the best personal assistant Jack had ever had. And it did not hurt that he could confide in her.
"Give me thirty minutes," was all Jack said then he hung up.
He ran his hand tiredly over his beard and sighed. He had thought of going to the gym today then later on hang out with Benny. But that was going to have to wait.

"So it's done? He's accepted the deal?" Jack asked after they spent an hour and a half talking to the head of the firm that was supposed to invest in their company.
"Yeah. You knew he would," Lucy said with a smirk, looking at Jack with bright eyes.
Jack shrugged and let out a smile. "Can't help my charisma"
Lucy rolled her eyes and started packing up her stuff and was getting ready to go home. "Your charisma? Please". She paused whatever she was doing to and smiled a little.
“Care to tell me what's gotten you in such a good mood?” She teased, expecting Jack's usual answer. Coffee. Today however was a bit different.
“Nothing you should worry about. Come on. Let's get out of this place.”
Lucy squinted her eyes but said nothing. If Jack didn't want to tell her he wasn't going to. And nothing she did or said was going to change his mind.
She gave him a fake smile and they got into the elevator. Throughout the ride, she kept on throwing him discreet looks. She was not delusional enough to think Jack liked her as anything more than a friend. But maybe it would come. Not now. But someday. She just had to keep being her.
“See you Suz,” he waved, then got into his car and drove off. Lucy sighed and watched him leave. What wouldn't she give for him to fall for her? Or even like her just a little? What wouldn't she give.

Ana was tired. It was the Monday after her night out and she was currently at work. She was supposed to be editing something. But her thoughts were preoccupied with thoughts of Friday night.
She didn't really remember everything. But what she managed to recall was turning her on. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat and blushed when her mind decided to start playing the sequences she could remember of that night.
You're so fucking tight for me, baby.
Ana clenched her legs and looked down, mortified to have been thinking such thoughts at work. She almost felt like everyone could see that she had had sex recently on her face.
She had thought she would feel a little bit fulfilled after her night out. But it was different from what she had imagined. She felt like a whole new person.
And everyone else seemed to think so. They were all observing her. Ana thought it was because of what happened with Tasha the previous Friday. But that was not it.
She heard a snippet of her co-workers conversation, talking bout how she was glowing. And another even had the boldness to walk up to her and say, "Wow sis. Can you lend me the dick you've been getting? You're glowing!"
Ana was confused. Yes, she spoke to them occasionally. Yes, she had even laughed with some of them. But they weren't friends and it didn't give them the right to ask stupidly personal questions.
Ana sighed and continued editing the article in front of her. It was pretty interesting so doing it was not a chore.
A few minutes later, Tasha came to her desk, a smug smile on her lips. Ana instantly grew wary. After what she had done to Tasha the previous week, she had been scared that this one would try to take her revenge.
"Fitz wants you in his office," Tasha said, tapping her pen on her palm, making an annoying click sound.
Ana gritted her teeth, but did not say anything in relation to the pen, not wanting the dragon to come out of her lair (Dragon being Tasha's unpredictable temper).
"Now?" Ana asked, saving and closing the document she had been editing.
"Actually, he asked for you about thirty minutes ago. So I'd hurry of I were you," Tasha said with a mean smile on her face.
Ana quickly packed up her stuff and hurried in the direction of Fitz's office. He was known to be someone who loved punctuality. Ana knew that was Tasha's way to pay her back for Friday, but it was a stupid one. It could easily cost Ana her job.
Ana sighed and prayed Fitz was in a good mood when she got into his office. She knocked as she reached the office and got in when she heard a hoarse come in.
She got in and as she expected, his face was set in a scowl. But surprisingly, as soon as he saw her, his features relaxed into a smile.
"Hello sir," Ana said hesitantly.
"Have a seat, Ana" was all the man said. And Ana started praying that he was did make any deliberately mysterious comments. Because she might actually die.
"I have good news for you," Fitz said and Ana's eyes raised in surprise.
"Good news?" Ana asked.
"Yes. I've read your blog and I have to say you're inspired and funny and talented. So you're going to have your column. You can pack your things and leave to your office," Fitz announced and Ana broke into a smile.
"Oh my god, thank you so much Mr. Fitz. I promise I won't disappoint you!" Ana exclaimed and shook Fitz's hand enthusiastically then bolted out of the office.
She smiled. After good dick, a promotion. She couldn't wait to tell Landon and she definitely couldn't wait to rub it in Tasha's face. And to prove to her mother that she could actually succeed in what she was passionate about.
Ana was confused. Yes, it had been a month since she had been promoted. Yes she no longer has to deal with Tasha and her other nosy as fuck coworkers. But she was still stressed out. Ana didn't understand why. Everything was fine. Her mother

It had been two days since Ana had discovered that she was carrying another life in her. She had freaked out after her calm episode. It had actually occured to her that she was pregnant when she was in bed that same night. She had cried and s
The next day was way better. There was no longer that pressure on Ana. She had told Landon, and that was what was most important. He was the only constant in her life and he was the most important person till date. Ana was yet to tell Veronica, her mother. But if she was being honest, she really didn’t want to do that. Veronica was an extreme Christian and she was probably going to get into some kind of fit and maybe call Ana a demon. And the last thing the latter needed was stress so she would pass on that. The day was looking to be a bright one. Ana really couldn’t ex
If there was one word that you could use to qualify Jack in that instant, it was stressed out. It was a first for him. Jack was an extremely confident man. He had built his confidence right from childhood and it was basically unshakable. But as soon as the detective had called him to say he had news of the girl, it was as if all that confidence had left Jack’s body. It was weird. And it might sound dumb that he was searching for someone whose face he didn’t even remember clearly. But Jack couldn’t explain it. Even though he was drunk and most of the memories from that n
So it was today. Not the interview. Today was the day Ana went to hospital to confirm the pregnancy. It was honestly just a formality at this point because with all the changes her body had gone through, and the tests she had taken, it was obvious that there was another life growing in her. But it was better to be one hundred percent sure. Plus, she had to listen to the doctor’s advice. No matter how helpful the Internet was, it was never completely accurate, it was not a professional and it was not going to ease all the irrational fears she was having.
There was no noise in the room. It was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The only things that ruined the awkward silence were the breaths the two people present in the room let out. They looked at each other occasionally, both wondering where the doctor who had promised not to take long had gone to.
It was another day spent with Jack obsessing over that girl. He had been going through some documents, but after a while, his concentration had dropped. The more time went on, it’s like his mind unlocked memories of that day that he had not realized existed. He put down the Gil in his hand and as he was about to take a sip of the coffee Lucy had made him, she burst into his office. No knocking or anything. And there was a big smile on her face. She had something in her hand but Jack paid no attention to it.
