I decided to ignore the tension with Jack and focus on my feelings for Alex. I couldn't believe what Jack had just confessed, but I needed some time to process it.

I grabbed my phone and sent Alex a text. "Hey, want to hang out today?"

He replied almost immediately. "Yeah, I'd love to. What did you have in mind?"

I smiled, feeling a flutter in my chest. "How about we grab some coffee at our favourite spot and take a walk in the park?"

Alex agreed, and we made plans to meet up later that day.

As I got ready to leave, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I was really starting to develop feelings for Alex, and I couldn't wait to spend more time with him.

But as I walked out the door, I caught a glimpse of Jack watching me from the living room window. His eyes looked sad and longing, and I felt a pang of guilt.

I pushed the feeling aside and focused on the day ahead. I was going to enjoy my time with Alex and worry about Jack's feelings later.
