The next day, I was sitting in the living room when Jack walked in with a big smile on his face. "I've got a surprise for you, Karen," he said, his eyes shining with excitement.

My mother's face lit up. "Oh, Jack, what is it?"

Jack nodded towards the window. "Go take a look outside."

My mother got up and walked to the window, pulling back the curtains. Her eyes widened in shock. "Jack, is that... a new car?"

Jack nodded. "Yes, it is."

My mother's face lit up as she gazed at the sleek, new car parked outside. "Jack, it's beautiful! Thank you so much!"

But as she turned to him with a smile, Jack's eyes flicked to me, and he said, "Actually, Karen, the car is for Sophia."

My mother's expression faltered, and she looked taken aback. "Oh, I... I thought it was for me," she stammered.

I felt a surge of embarrassment, but Jack just smiled and said, "I thought Sophia deserved a new car. She's been working hard and needs a reliable ride. She doesn't need a stranger to give her a ride home."

I decided to ignore the tension with Jack and focus on my feelings for Alex. I couldn't believe what Jack had just confessed, but I needed some time to process it. I grabbed my phone and sent Alex a text. "Hey, want to hang out today?" He replied almost immediately. "Yeah, I'd love to. What did you have in mind?" I smiled, feeling a flutter in my chest. "How about we grab some coffee at our favourite spot and take a walk in the park?" Alex agreed, and we made plans to meet up later that day. As I got ready to leave, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I was really starting to develop feelings for Alex, and I couldn't wait to spend more time with him. But as I walked out the door, I caught a glimpse of Jack watching me from the living room window. His eyes looked sad and longing, and I felt a pang of guilt. I pushed the feeling aside and focused on the day ahead. I was going to enjoy my time with Alex and worry about Jack's feelings later. As I met up with Alex

Alex walks into the coffee shop, expecting to see me waiting for him. Instead, he's surprised to see Rachel sitting at our usual table, sipping on a latte. "Hey, Alex!" Rachel says with a smile. Alex’s confusion is evident. "Where's Sophia? She texted me to meet her here." Rachel's expression turns serious. "No, that was me. I used her phone to text you." Alex's mind starts racing. Why did Rachel do something as sneaky as that? "Okay... what's going on?" Alex asks, taking a seat next to Rachel. Rachel takes a deep breath before launching into an explanation. "I hear things are going well with you and Sophia, but I don't think you know her well enough to even consider being in a relationship with her." Alex's forehead wrinkles with confusion. “What exactly are you talking about?" "Sophia's been feeling really guilty about her mom's marriage problems. She thinks she's the reason Jack and her mom are having issues." Alex's eyes widen in surprise. "That's not true! Sophia'

My eyes fluttered closed as Jack's fingers teased my nipples. I couldn't believe I was surrendering to my desires, but my body craved his touch. Jack obeyed, and soon my nighties was slipped down from my body, fully exposing my breast and erected nipples to him. "You're so beautiful, Sophia." he mutters, his voice choked with desire. My whole body tensed at his words. My core dripped. I wanted him so badly. As if he could hear my thoughts his hand traced down to my dripping core. "you're so wet for me, Sophie. I sat in front of my mirror, staring at my reflection as I applied my makeup for my birthday party. In a few hours, I'll be Nineteen years, but my mind wasn't on the celebration ahead - it was on Alex. It had been days since we last spoke, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. We had been growing closer, and I had thought that our relationship was on solid ground. But now, I wasn't so sure. I sighed, putting down my mascara wand. Why had Alex been so distant lately? Did I do something wrong? The questions swirled in my head, making me feel anxious and uncertain. Just then, my phone buzzed with a text from Rachel. "Hey, happy birthday! Can't wait to celebrate with you tonight!" I forced a smile, typing out a response. "Thanks, Rach! Can't wait to see you tonight!" But as I put down my phone, my mind drifted back to Alex. I wished he would reach out, wished he would tell me what was going on. But as the hours t

We turned around to see Alex standing there, holding a bouquet of red roses, his expression unreadable. My heart skipped a beat, a mix of relief and anxiety flooding through me. Had he heard our converstion? "You came." I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I wouldn’t miss it for the world," Alex replied, stepping closer, and handing me the roses. "You look very beautiful," He continued, but there was something off in his tone, something that made my heart race with fear. "Is everything okay?" I asked, unable to keep the worry out of my voice. Alex hesitated, his gaze dropping to the ground. "I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, Sophia. About us." I felt a lump form in my throat. "What do you mean?" "I think i should leave you guys alone." Rachel said, and quickly excused herself. "I… I

As I stepped out onto the balcony, I heard the door open behind me. I turned around to find Jack standing there, his expression serious. “Are you okay?” I asked, my voice soft, almost hesitant. Jack closed the door behind him, stepping closer. “I could ask you the same thing. You seemed… distracted back there.” I sighed, leaning against the balcony railing. “I was just thinking about you, actually. You didn’t seem happy when Alex asked me to be his girlfriend.” Jack’s jaw tightened slightly, and he looked away, staring out at the night sky. “Sophia, it’s not that I’m not happy for you. I just—” He paused, as if searching for the right words. “I worry about you. You’re young, and relationships can be complicated. I don’t want to see you get hurt.” I frowned, trying to make sense of his words. “I know relationships can be complicated, but I trust Alex. He’s been nothing but kind to me.”

As we stepped back into the bustling party, the vibrant music and laughter of our friends filled the air. Yet, it all felt distant, like background noise to the thoughts swirling in my mind. Alex stayed close by my side, his presence comforting, but my heart was still tangled in the unexpected emotions that had surfaced on the balcony. We moved through the crowd, accepting birthday wishes and small talk from friends, but I couldn't fully engage. My mind kept drifting back to the look in Jack's eyes, the way he had leaned in, and how it had made me feel. I wanted to shake the feeling off, to focus on the present and the boy who had just made a grand gesture of love for me. "Do you want to dance?" Alex asked, pulling me back to the moment. His voice was hopeful, and I could see he was trying to make this night special for me. "Yeah," I said, managing a smile. "I'd love that." He led me to the dance floor, where couples swayed to the soft melody. Alex wrapped his arms around me,

Rachel turned to him, a mischievous glint in her eye. "So, how does it feel to be officially off the market?"Alex chuckled, shaking his head. "You're something else, Rach.""I'm serious!" she said, laughing. "You and Sophia now officially together, I guess you didn't believe any of the things i told you."Alex's expression hardened, the smile on his face disappearing instantly. "Sorry Rach, but I didn't." He sends a quick glance towards Rachel. "I love her Rachel."Rachel nodded, her expression thoughtful. "Yeah, it's obvious. But..."Alex raised an eyebrow, sensing the unspoken concern. "But what?"Rachel hesitated, choosing her words carefully. "I don't know how to tell you this , Al

But in this moment, having my mother’s encouragement brought a strange sense of calm.As the evening wore on, my mother began to ask gentle questions about how I was feeling, what my plans might look like, and whether I’d considered any next steps. Her presence was reassuring, filling the spaces of uncertainty with a steady warmth.Jack, however, remained mostly silent, watching the interaction between my mother and me with a guarded expression. The phone rang twice before Alex answered, his voice cool and guarded.“Sophie,” he greeted, as if expecting my call."Alex," I managed, struggling to keep my voice steady. "Look, we need to talk—alone. Please. Just give me a chance to explain why this…this whole thing you’re doing is wrong."A pause on the line. “There’s nothing to explain. You know what’s at stake.”“I know, but… isn’t there any way you’d reconsider?” I forced down my pride, appealing to whatever part of him might still have some shred of decency. “You and I—we were close once. You don’t have to go through with this.”His sigh was faint but enough to make me hope he was wavering. “You think I haven’t thought about that?” His voice was unexpectedly tight, as if my words had struck a nerve. “I have reasons for what I'm asking.”“Then explain those reasons to me,” I pressed, clinging to the opening. “If you want me to really do this, help me understand why you’re asking me to betray Jack.”There was a pause, and I coul
