Chapter 7

Light shone through the windows that Valerie had left opened the night before. She opened her heavy eyes like an old computer slowing booting. She sat up on her bed and the scenes of all that happened last night were replaced in her head and she was tempted to cry again but she knew she had a lot of work to do today which was Friday. 

Friday was the day in which she sold most goods because it was like the first step to the weekend where a lot of events will take place. I.e birthday parties, weddings and a lot more. 

She checked her phone to see if she had received a return call from Scott whom she had called 12 times the night before but there was none. 

A notification came up on her phone and she checked it.

It was a reminder that she and Scott had a date planned out for that evening. She simply sighed and put her phone away and got out of bed and went to have her bath. She brushed her teeth and had her bath.

She put a little makeup and put on a little red dress that revealed too much breast, too much leg, and too much pale golden flesh of hers.

She wore a jean jacket and black heel boots to go. She was dressed like she was wild itself. She was going to still Scott's heart away tonight and she didn't want what her parent had said to bother her, at least not for today.

She called for a taxi and went the taxi driver saw her, he couldn't take his eyes off her. He was smitten by her beauty and she knew she had worn over the world already. She arrived at her working place and her staff was surprised by her dressing that morning. It wasn't that she wasn't a great dresser but she always put on full-body clothes or gowns that were kneeling at length. She looked different today and something was up and they knew it but they couldn't approach her on it but they knew she was happy so they simply complimented her on her gorgeous outfit.

She got into her office and began to sort out the files that she had to and Tyler came in soon afterward.

"For a bar owner, don't you think you are being too nonchalant by leaving your bar in the hands of the manager?" Valerie asked as she saw Tyler working into her office.

"Well, for someone like me who enjoys flexing and having fun with all her time, that's the best I can do," Tyler said and hugged her best friend as she sat down on the sofa in the office.

"And why are you dressed like a sexy hot diva model today?" Tyler asked.

"I have a date with Scott tonight and we have something important to discuss," Valerie said.

"Okay, lover girl" Tyler teased

"So tell me why you were moody yesterday?" Valerie said.

Tyler sighed and took a deep breath before she began to explain what happened the day before.

"James came to my bar earlier yesterday and forcefully had sex with me, He was high on drugs and there was no way I could fight him so I let him have his way," Tyler said sadly.

"Oh my Gosh, you should have told me," Valerie said getting up from her chair and going to comfort her best friend. She patted Tyler on her shoulders and told her it was going to be fine.

"There's a good side to this tho" Tyler said suddenly lightening up her mood.

"I have a CCTV and all that happened was recorded so I can use it against him, I'm ready to take this case to court," Tyler said.

"And I'll be by your side" Valerie assured.

"I wanted to tell you this as well, Ty" Valerie started.

"What my parents wanted to tell me yesterday was that they set me up for an arranged marriage with the son of STE," Valerie said.

"That's good news," Tyler said.

"What?" Valerie said surprised at her friend's reaction.

"I have Scott remember?" Valerie explained.

"He's the son of STE, the richest and wealthiest person in central city girl, ladies would kill to be in your position," Tyler said.

"You are not helping, Ty" Valerie.

"Okay, I know it's hard to process and you want to say that you can't marry someone you just met but I'll prefer you get married to this STE son than Scott, and you know that," Tyler said.

"Oh Tyler, I love Scott," Valerie said.

" No, you love how he makes you feel, like an idiot," Tyler said trying to tell her the difference.

"If you loved Scott. You would not have hidden the fact that you were dating him for 2 good years from your parent. Plus you would let him get a job instead of treating him like your son and lavishing him with gifts like a 2-year-old" Tyler said.

"He's a 26-year-old man and he has no job, collects pocket money from his rich girlfriend, doesn't call often, jobless but always busy and just has good looks" Tyler explained.

"You make him sound like a bad guy, Tyler" Valerie said.

"Is he not?" Tyler asked.

"Whatever" Valerie said.

"Let's go get breakfast," Tyler said and they left to go to the subway restaurant to eat their delicious sandwich.

They got there and ordered what they each wanted to eat and sat down at their table.

"Why do you like coming here instead of ordering," Tyler asked.

"It tastes better at room temperature," Valerie said and they both laughed.

Justin had burritos for breakfast that morning and got all his work done.

He checked his schedule and he was free for the whole evening. Ever since he had come back to the central city, he had not had time to go sightseeing because he's been preoccupied with work and his mother's sickness. He had gone to see her earlier that morning and she had told him to go out and have fun but he had no friends in the central city but he went out anyways.

He changed from his suit to a red sweatshirt and a black jumper with red sneakers to go and put on a black face mask. Ever since he has been in the city, the news has been on and on about his although he's yet to make the headlines yet.

He thought of where to go and he decided to go to an old area. He went to where Jaden's dad's workshop used to be although, Jaden's parents left the central city when Jaden died. That he heard of course.

He was lonely because he had no friends to talk to or laugh around with. He went to a coffee shop to get coffee and someone bumped into him.

"Watch where you are going," he said coldly.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," she said as she tried to use a tissue to clean his shirt that was stained with coffee.

"Don't worry" he said grabbing her wrist and removing her hands from his shirt.

He walked away and went to get an ice Americano latte.

He also went to a game center where he and Jaden used to come to after school because Jaden's crush was always there after school to play the dance game.

He went to all the places he and Jaden used to go to, the aquarium, the coffee shop, Jaden's father workshop, the game shop. All except the cinema and sauna. He only had 5 hours to spare before he could return to the office he was such a lone wolf.

Scott called Valerie in the afternoon to apologize for not picking up her calls throughout the night, he said he went job hunting and was tired from the day's walk. Valerie of course didn't mind and planned to surprise him that evening so she didn't remind him of their date that evening. She planned to go to his house and made his favorite meal of Mac and cheese.

And then explain the situation on the ground to Scott about her parent so he could go and see her parents and make it official between them but Scott had better plans.

"That guy was being such a jerk, Val," Tyler said.

"I mean you didn't even mean to bump into him and splash your hot latte on his body," Tyler said again.

"Seriously?  Are you trying to make me feel worse than I already am?" Valerie said.

"How would you feel if someone splashed something hot on you, and I'm sure that cloth cost a fortune, I'm a fashionista, Ty, I know how angry I'll be if it was me," Valerie said defending the stranger she had splashed her hot drink on.

"Whatever, are you ready to go and see Scott now?" Tyler asked.

"Do you want to drop me off?" Valerie asked.

"No babe, take a cab, I'm not driving down to that Guy's house this evening. " Tyler said and hugged her friend good night.

Valerie decided to take the bus so she could use it as the first thing She'll tell Scott when she gets to his house.

"Scott. Can I come over so we can finish what we started" Samantha send a message to Scott?

"Sure" Scott replied.

Scott prepared his house to entertain Samantha. He loved what she was giving him. He was so glad someone wasn't being stingy with sex like Valerie. 

The dll rang and Scott went to open it.
