Stephanie's POV

Gulping, I resumed fiddling with my fingers.

This was too much for me to handle.

It was barely twenty fours hours after I left Davies' side who had promised to love, cherish and protect me and the child growing inside of me.

Now I was faced with the challenge of choosing between two men.

Pushing my hair behind my ears, I raised my head only to lock eyes with Alpha Gregory who had a pitiful look on his face as he anticipated my response.

“Can I sleep over this?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Plopping next to him on the bed, he held my hand, his gaze fixated on me, “I know I have hurted you, please give me another chance." He gulped.

Leaning even more closely, he said, “You have the right to hate and resent me, but please, for the sake of my child, accept me back."

I placed my hand on my stomach at his words and then began to caress it as a sad smile spread across my l

In our closet, I was going to apologize for cornering her but that doesn't mean I was going to let her go. She has accepted to be my Luna in the presence of the members, so be it. Immediately the meeting ended, Stephanie took her leave while I trailed after her until we got to hee chambers. She was about to slam the door shut but I was quick to place my leg as a wedge, preventing her from doing so. “Steph…” The rest of my words went down my throat when her palm connected against my cheek. • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   You Won't Leave, Right?

Alpha Gregory's POVIt first started as side talks but as time went on, it grew into rumors and soon almost everyone was talking about it. Stephanie's disappearance and sudden reappearance was a hot topic for the pack members to debate on. The main highlights of their discussion was her whereabouts when she disappeared. Some said she went into hiding due to shame but others highlighted she was in the arms of another man. Soon the topic that was meant for the pack members to discuss was brought into the council during one of our meetings. “You shouldn't try covering up for her, tell us her whereabouts before her return so that all the rumors would be clear." Elder Ralph said, eliciting a nod of support from his colleagues. “Why are you interested in her whereabouts?" I snapped at them, grabbing the arm of my chair in anger. As the rumor grew, the more angry I became but there was nothing I could do about it.

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Rumors Again

Gregory's POVI did everything I could to abate the rumors but it was of no use, rather, it became a hot topic in the pack that even restrictions couldn't put an end to it. Because of the intensity of the rumor, Stephanie got wind of it, leaving me at the edge of the cliff but her reaction calmed me down. Instead of flaring up and attempting to leave the pack, she did nothing of that sort. The elders were not helping matters as they were on my neck concerning Stephanie's loyalty even after my several reassurances that she was on our side. Once again, during one of our council meetings, Elder Ralph started the topic, indulging the rest of the elders who in turn shifted their focus to me. “I have everything under my control, you just have to believe me." I said to the elders but they wouldn't hear of it. They kept demanding proof of her loyalty which I didn't have to offer. At the end of the council meeting

Stephanie's POVThe rumors were getting worse with each passing day. Alpha Gregory had done a good job trying to stop me from hearing the rumors but the volumes at which the pack members spoke were loud. Now I understand why I was getting those strange looks each time I stepped out of the chambers. To make the pack members believe I was loyal to them, I did all I could to make that happen and even got involved in their little talks but it didn't suffice. They were all still suspicious and whenever I joined them, it was either they changed the topic of their discussion or the gathering started thinning out until I was the only one left. Alpha Gregory was not left in all of this. I did whatever he asked of me and my head was always bent to the ground whenever he spoke to me. My aim was to let him know that it was just a rumor and I was loyal to him and the pack. Since the pack members won't believ

Gregory's POVElara’s confession made my heart clench tightly against my chest as I stared back at her, a million and one thought running through my head at once. Ava is still alive! — I thought, sending my teeth into my lower lips, my heartbeat getting doubled with each passing second. Suddenly, Elara began to laugh like the situation was funny. Snapping my head in her direction, I took a few strides in her direction only to grab her by her neck, pulling her up roughly until her back was against the rough wall. “Don't you dare lie to me, Ava is dead." I spat in her face. “Then why am I alive?" She replied defiantly, causing me to recoil but soon I regained my balance, tightening my grip around her neck. “Tell me everything you know about Ava’s plan.” I snapped, my tone cold and controlling. When she wouldn't speak, I let go of my grip on her neck and she began to cough while I looked on waiting impatient

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Revenge Gone Wrong

Ava's POVSatisfied with the manipulations of the pack members, I decided to move to my next plan and that was confronting Alpha Gregory. I wasn't going to do it alone, I was going to do it with the aid of a powerful sorcerer as it wasn't going to be easy if I handled it myself. Standing at the borders next to the sorcerer, I placed my hand on my dagger which was strapped firmly around my waist. With the alarm of rogues at the borders, Alpha Gregory was going to leave whatever he was doing and find his way here. Several times I have heard him talk about the safety of his pack being one of his priorities and not only that, he had demonstrated countlessly. Today was not going to be any different. The aura from the sorcerer next to me gave me so much confidence. • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Defeated

Gregory’s POVI was shocked to see Ava at the borders instead of the rogues like I was informed. She didn't come for negotiations, she was here for revenge and to make that happen, she came with a sorcerer who cast spells on my armies before doing the same to me. Fighting against the sorcerer's magic was like I was fighting against a demon which was triple my size. The sorcerer continued tormenting me, giving me no time to breathe as the pain came hitting me in bolts. Gritting my teeth amidst the pain, I struggled to remain on my feet. My armies were frozen, I couldn't afford to fall when the whole life of my pack depended on me. And then, there was Stephanie and our child whom I had vowed to protect. With this in mind, I continued fighting against the magic but I was losing strength.

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   When The Time Is Right

Stephanie’s POVFinally, it was all over. The seekers had all gone to fight Gregory and the army but none of them returned to the dimly lit hall for me and my kids, not even the old seeker. Scooping my kids in my arms, I placed a tender kiss on their foreheads, holding them to my chest as relief watched through me.The thought of losing one of them had made me terrified as cold chills ran through my spines. After kicking off the bowl the old seeker had placed my son in readiness for the sacrifice, I turned around to leave. They were fast asleep, so they were oblivious of what was happening around them. “This way." One of Gregory's soldiers said, steering me down a path which led out of the Seekers lair. The moment I stepped out into the bright night, I saw them. Gregory was standing tall with blood dripping down one side of his face while Davies stood behind him. “Raze down the cave." Davies commanded and immediately, the night erupted into bright flames. Alpha Gregory’s POVFinally, it was the day of the ritual.Stephanie and the kids were finally going to return to me once more. All through the day, I was giddy with excitement that I couldn't sit still. The prospect of having my family back after several days was too good to be true that I couldn't think of anything else.“You should get some rest, it's going to be a long night." Davies had said to me countless times but I always shoved his words to the side. An hour before the ritual would begin, Davies and I went over our plans with our allies for the last time before we ventured into the dark night. The closer we got to the lair, the thicker the tension in the air. I bet I was the only one feeling this way because Davies and the others were unfazed. The Lycans moved in silence, their eyes glowing in the dark and their claws were extended and ready for the bloodshed to come. The Dragons towered above the

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Abducted

Stephanie's POVResting my back against the cold wall, I had my knees pulled up to my chin with my eyes all over the place. The only thing I could think about were my kids. Ever since we got abducted, I haven't been allowed to see them. Their incessant cries were the only thing that gave me hope that they were alive, nothing more. Holding my breath, I tried to pull myself to my feet but I couldn't as I was cramped. I have been confined to this little space and so I didn't have enough space to move my legs about. What should I do now? I was the seekers' target and not the kids. If anything happens to my innocent children, I will never be able to forgive myself.Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps in the hallway came to an end and almost immediately, the door creaked open and one of the seekers stepped in. Scrambling to my feet, I asked, “My kids, how are they? You said you were going to check with

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Let's Do This

Davies's POV With my hands tucked inside my pockets, I fixed my gaze on the flickering flames of the fireplace in my study. The room was warm, yet I felt cold. It wouldn't be long before I become completely frozen. Instead of going to meet Gregory in his pack, I had invited him over so we could plan on how to take down the seekers once and for all. It took us several hours but still, we have been unable to come up with something solid. Just when it seemed like we were getting a breakthrough, there would be an obstacle or a loophole that would leave us with no choice but to start all over again. The truth was, there was no perfect plan but of course, there was one which could be regarded as almost perfect. Infiltrating the seekers' hideout was the plan and unlike the last time when I was the only one who needed to be rescued, three delicate lives were on the line. And we intend to save them all.

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Secret

Davies's POV It was getting more messy. Gregory was losing his head and as if that was not enough, he had resumed blaming me for being behind Stephanie's and the kid's abduction. Clasping my hands, I leaned against the window pane, allowing my eyes to travel the distance as different thoughts swirled around my head.It had been confirmed that the seekers had them but no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't locate their hiding place. Just when I was about to go berserk and kick things into the air, an idea struck and it sounded like the breakthrough I wanted. Instead of staying in the shadows and searching for the seekers current location, I will put myself out there so they will know what I was up to. My plan clicked and in less than twenty four hours, I was invited by the head of the seekers.Without wasting time, I embarked on the journey and on arrival since I was being expected, I was led right int

Alpha Gregory's POV With each passing day, the hope of seeing Stephanie and the kids was getting thinner but I wasn't going to give up until I found them. Most times, I couldn't help but blame myself for getting involved with Davies. If only I hadn't agreed to her request of going to rescue him when he was at the seekers' lair, this wouldn’t have happened. My family is going to remain intact and we will have nothing to worry about. A few minutes ago, Frank had stepped out to meet with Davies who had just arrived at the pack house. I had intentionally refused to meet with him because I didn't trust myself. Each time I saw him, I would become furious since I considered him the architect of my woes but I never said that to him directly. Falling back on the couch, I tossed my head backwards, allowing a low wince to escape from my lips.
