Willow

I could not believe the sight of the pack. It was horrible. There were burnt buildings, and there were a lot of injured people.

I needed to figure out where to start.

It seemed the medical staff had attended to them, but somehow I felt responsible for this.

While I was spending time with my father, they were suffering an attack.

I looked at Christopher as he checked on his officers, looking confused, and asked myself if I was good for him.

I might be a lousy distraction without knowing it. He really did not need to go to the Lycan kingdom, but he did. He did it because of me, and I felt terrible.

I checked on Luis, and he was in a comma. Leeana was crying by his side, but I was glad to see that she was alright. She stood up to hug me, and I wrapped my arms around her.

She sobbed bitterly.

"They came for us, Luna. They came, and they were impossible to kill. It was as if they possessed some special powers. We were at a great disadvantage. He tried to lead, and Mark and A

Willow The player looked at me with pure rage in his eyes, and I was a bit scared. Instead of showing fear, I felt my lips curl into a smile. "I have made my move, Apate; it is time for you to make yours," I heard myself say in a voice that wasn't mine, and he looked at me darkly and angrily. "You are not allowed to cheat, Selene," he said with a female voice, and I shook my head. "Who said I was cheating? I am just doing what you have been doing. I just aided my champion." She replied, and I wondered what that meant. Apparently, I was seeing through Selene's eyes, and our opponent was Apate. "That was your essence, Selene. Killing my team with powers wasn't a part of the deal," He said and soon, the event that transpired when the rogues attacked us on our way to the Lycan kingdom played. I saw myself. I was a lycan white wolf with bright light emitting from me. It killed all the rogues that came in contact with the light. "What do you say for yourself?" Apate said, and Selene l

Christopher I woke up and felt her body was cold. Honestly, I panicked, but I remembered the event in the past when she had an encounter with the goddess and decided to give it time. I waited a bit before entering the bathroom to prepare for the day. Although I never let anyone see my tears. I cried. If only I wasn't too blind and loyal, all this wouldn't have happened. I should have accepted my fated when she came to me and protected her from Aida, but I failed, leading us down this path. I knew Edward would not take it well when the time for Willow to leave came, just as I wouldn't take it easy. As much as I appreciate the surrogacy, I would have loved the journey with Willow. I rested my head against the tiled wall under the shower and wept. "Just let her remain with me. I am begging you. I will never ask for anything more but for Willow to live a full life with me. Please," I prayed, hoping the powers that be might listen and grant me my wish. Soon I heard footsteps and wi

  • Once In The Dust   60 The Assembly

Christopher. Luis, Garret and Mark were a bit confused with my words, and I could understand their confusion, but it was time to tell them the truth. They had encountered shifters that were almost impossible to kill and immune to silver; they should believe me. What they had witnessed was an impossibility, and yet it had occurred. "Willow, meet me in my office," I linked my wife, and she did not respond. I knew I left her with unfinished words. "Willow," I said, and there was no response. I looked at Luis. "Have you told the pack members to assemble on the ground?" I asked him, and he nodded. "Still linking them as we speak," He said, and I nodded. "Please excuse me; I will meet you on the grounds. I just need to check on my wife," I said, and they agreed. I sped back towards my room. I was worried. I shouldn't have left things like that. I shouldn't have voiced my pain as I did, but I had to. I was desperate, and I wanted the goddess to help me so I could keep my wife. I w

  • Once In The Dust   61 The Second Time

Christopher. Willow's warning to the pack members hit home, and I knew why her wolf would put it out there. It is important that she makes her move before Apate does. I could see clearly now that it was a game. Sowing in the hearts of the pack members that they were attacked because of a witch was a bit extreme, and it would leave room for people to be suspicious of me. "Some people are no longer among us," Willow continued. I had to link her immediately because I was yet to educate my officers on what was happening. "Please wait," I told her, but she ignored me. "There are two things," She continued. "They have either joined these corrupted groups or abandoned this pack. Their names would be listed. You should not maintain a connection to them or allow them to corrupt you. My husband and father will protect you as long as you remain loyal to the moon goddess and no one else. Am I clear!" she said with so much authority that resonated in the air. I felt the pressure, but I held

  • Once In The Dust   62 The Opening

Willow Rachel was hurled to the questioning room. The pack members that were around and saw what happened began to throw things at her. It was pretty fast. They had attacked our pack yesterday, and she had helped them return today. Was she working for them all along? I felt it was strange that she would give up her people so quickly. I was angry, but Christopher was livid. I could understand his rage. He was her Alpha. He cared for her and her family, and look at how she paid him back. Seeing how annoyed the top officers were, I knew this Rachel woman would not have it easy. It was sad that she would do this to them. I stayed to address the people while Christopher followed the kappas that were dragging Rachel away. I did not want to be in her shoes, but she deserved everything that was coming to her. She was trying to help Irvin beat us to the ground. We had yet to recover from the last attack, and she helped them through the woods for a second attack. She deserved everything t

  • Once In The Dust   63 A Dialogue With Apate

Willow."You have cheated, Selene," Apate said through Rachel's lips, and I Let Raya take over."Willow is my Champion Apate, are all these zombies your champions?" I asked her, and she laughed."Death is searching for you, you know. Stealing a damned soul is a crime. Your time is up, Selene. These clowns can't beat me. I have the hearts of kings and support beyond what you can imagine. Just like the first time, you will fall. These clowns cannot beat me. They can't even guard their hearts against me. I will turn them against themselves and destroy your team from within," She said, and I could only imagine why she was so bold about it."You will pay for your crimes, Apate. I know Irvin is your son. You are disgusting." I said, and she laughed."When you did it, it was okay. I do it, and it is disgusting," She said, and I flared up. Selene had taken over completely."I did it from love. I was in love, and I had a child from that love, but you just want power, and you used that man. You

  • Once In The Dust   64 The Coronation Part 1

Christopher Willow asked me the most disturbing question through the mind link, and it bothered me. She asked if I could see anyone who looked unusual on the table. The problem was I wasn't enhanced like her. If she asked that question, I knew something was definitely wrong with someone at the table. There was no way she asked that question for fun. "Did you see anything serious?" I asked her through the mind link, and she smiled at me. "Yes," She linked me back, and I was worried, remembering how King Lucien explained the process of corruption. Although the man did not know what was happening, he had explained the process of the corruption to me without knowing, which was why Apate was glad that we caught Rachel. Since we caught Rachel, I have felt a dark cloud over me; and I have been angry that the universe would take my wife from me and I would have to live alone for the rest of my life without Willow in it. No matter how I tried to see the bigger picture, I was sad because

Christopher King Edward looked in the direction of where the protesting voice came from and was a bit angry. "I agree," Another man said, standing up. "We get you are fond of Alpha Christopher, but naming his wife your heir so you can make him King is wrong, Your Majesty," he said, and everyone began to complain. I wondered if Apate was ruling their hearts. Though afraid of the King, they still found the nerve to speak out. "Enough!" King Edward said, sounding livid, but he was actually happy. I could feel King Aaron's giddiness. He just wanted to shut them up. "What nonsense is this?" he asked. "We do not want you to be angry, your majesty. We just want you to explain how Willow Walker is related to you and why we should allow her to succeed you when you're gone," a bear elder asked the King respectfully. Edward looked at his daughter and then looked at them. "I was fated to a werewolf by the name Leah Brooks, Alpha Devin Brook's sister, and before I exiled her, she was pregna

  • Once In The Dust   81  And Our Dreams Came True

WillowMy parents got married three days after we arrived at the palace. My father did not want to waste time anymore, and my mother was surprised that she was speechless by all that had happened. She did not talk much about it; I knew it was because she did not know where to start, but our actions let her know we weren't lying. My uncle Devin attended their wedding along with the two kings and All the alphas in our world. Alpha Devin remembered all that transpired because he was a general. He was happy that his sister was alive this time around. All our devotion, loyalty and respect for Selene increased because she restored all we had lost and blessed us immensely for our faithfulness and service. This was better than anything Apate would have given us had we helped the evil thing to win. We were grateful. We left the Lycan Kingdom a week later to prepare for our wedding, which would take place in the Lycan kingdom in a week. We had to return to Rain pack to finalise the divor

  • Once In The Dust   80 A reunion

Willow.Christopher made love to me sweetly. There was no urgency in his passion, and he took his time. I loved it. Not having a clock over my head was relieving, and I was grateful. When Christopher told me what Selene told him about the gift she had given us, my heart soared. She had finally come through for all of us. Learning that the traitors did not return made me feel rewarded and happy. When I heard Lucien and all the traitors had been wiped away from history. It was as if they never existed, and all I could say was thank you and hoped she heard me.I woke up naked in Christopher's arms. I was a virgin again, so I was sore between my legs, but the pleasure was worth it. Everything we did to each other was worth it, and I could not wait to do everything with him. We had dinner in the room and made love some more.We stayed all day indoors until the next day.Having breakfast with the entire pack was awkward, especially when I had to sit at the high table as their Luna and

  • Once In The Dust   79 Into My Arms

ChristopherI watched Willow advance towards Irvin, and I was afraid of what she planned to do. She had said goodbye and had blocked me out of her mind. I was tired, but I began to fight like a rabid dog. My mate was walking to her death, and there was nothing I could do about it. Please, Selene. Don't let this be it. We have given everything; please do not let this be it," I said.My vision was a blur, but I could see what Willow was doing even though tears were streaming down my face. I noticed that the men had stopped fighting us and were only trying to block us from getting to Willow. I watched King Aaron openly call after her; fear was evident in his voice, but she wasn't listening anymore. Willow went to her knees, and Irvin gave her his hand to kiss. I did not know what she was doing, but it did not seem like it was part of our plan. She touched and kissed his hand, and then I felt the surge. Willow collapsed lifelessly on the ground, and Irvin held his head, screaming

  • Once In The Dust   78 Awake

Willow I opened my eyes as if I had been in a deep sleep. My vision was blurry, and I wondered if I was being judged or had been cast back into the underworld. There was something strange about my environment. It was warm and familiar. Though blurry, there was sunlight, and there was fresh air. I could smell waffles with strawberries, just like the type my mother used to make for breakfast in our cottage in Brent woods. Tears welled up in my eyes. Thinking my soul must be wandering through the vast sea of memories. What a way to live my eternal life."Raya," I called on my wolf."Willow," she replied, and I was glad we were still together. I wanted to laugh, and I wanted to cry at the same time. Where was Christopher? Was he fine? Did he forgive my sacrifice? Did it work, and were they living a normal life? I had so many questions, but I doubted this heaven would bring me answers. "Willow, get up; we have herbs to pick this morning," I heard my mother's voice, and I blinked a f

  • Once In The Dust   77 The Death of Champions

WillowI could not believe that Lucien had betrayed us. Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed that Lucien would do this to us. He had betrayed us and killed my father. This was a lesson learned a bit too late. I felt the cord connecting me to my father break, and I knew he was no longer with us. Raya told me to focus, but how could I when my heart was broken. I was mourning my father. Tears streamed down my cheeks even though I tried to hold them. Miles fought beside me, and I wondered how his king could be so stupid. I could feel Miles' devotion; he was ready to die beside me.We slashed and cut through the attackers, a mix of the zombies and our treacherous people, and we moved swiftly. I knew Mark and Aida were no more, and I wondered who would fall next."We are all coming towards you so Irvin can come towards you. He seems to be avoiding you," Christopher said, and I did not need to guess why. Irvin was representing Apate, while I was representing Selene. He did

  • Once In The Dust   76 At War

Christopher It happened suddenly. We were asleep when Mark alerted me that we were under attack. My stomach churned because the time was upon us. The battle Willow told me about was finally here. The struggle for survival and freedom. Our kind would be extinct if we lost this battle, but her vision still showed a total wipeout. As worried as I was, there was no escaping it anymore. They were here, and they were ready. I planned to fight to survive to spend the rest of Willow's time in peace. Still, If I lost my life in the process, I was willing to take out as many people as possible for the survival of my kind. As the general of this war, it was my duty to ensure we won. Willow was awake, and I could see she knew from her eyes. Words did not need to be spoken between us. We both knew it was time. She kissed me and reached for her ultraviolet blade. Her light had a limit, and we knew it limited her strength; it would have to be her last resort because her life force was use

  • Once In The Dust   75 Move To Neeami

WillowTwo months and two weeks passed from the meeting with the alphas in Rain pack. Our training was rigorous, and I had moved to stock more provisions in the shelters so our people would have provisions if the war lasted longer than it should. The alphas that opted to converse with Irvin had nothing good to say. Some of their scouts found their location, but they were never able to return so we could trace and figure it out. Alfredo received a reply from Irvin, stating that he should join up or die. It meant we were back to the original solution that I had proffered from the onset. Our training was rigorous, and a new type of panic overcame me as time drew nearer. I was having serious issues accepting that my time was almost up. I also kept seeing our doom and the death of many people, which was not good. According to my visions, there was a complete wipeout, and I was trying to figure out how best to avoid it. Ultraviolet ammunition was prepared. It came in the form of larg

  • Once In The Dust   74 Conflicts and plans

Willow Rain pack was the way we left it. Mark and Garnett did a good job, and Luis seemed to have eased in when he returned. The people were happy to see us and confessed that no one had dared to attack them since the last attack. We had sent a strong message with that last attack, so I knew it would be unwise for Irvin to send more of his people to die. While Christopher handled the military and engineering section, I dealt with the shelter with the help of Aida. As much as I hated working with her, I had to let it be. Seeing that Apate tried to use my pain to make me cross over made me force myself to get along with Aida. She knew how to handle Luna matters, so I had to allow her to help me put the shelter together. There was a lot of awkwardness between us, but we tried to make it work. After one week, the shelters were finally in the best shape, and we asked the rest of the civilians living above ground to move there. I couldn't tell if my pack was infiltrated, but I ju

  • Once In The Dust   73 Preparations and Implementation

Willow I woke up, and the room was foggy. Everything that happened in the woods returned to me, and I was afraid. I would have turned my back on everything I was fighting for if Raya had not come through. Apate spoke my truth and voiced out my pains and fears. The offer was tempting. I would do anything to live beyond a year. To carry my children and to raise them. To grow old with Christopher and to spend more time with my father. I would do anything for it. I was paying a very steep price which was my life. I looked to my left, and Christopher was sitting on a chair looking at me. He was wearing joggers, and I looked at my body. They had clothed me in a gown. I was a bit confused because we were both down. I wondered how come he recovered faster than me. "Darling," he said to me with worry in his eyes, and I gently sat up in bed. "How long was I out?" I asked him. " A day," he said, and I touched my tummy, worried about my injections. "Dr Melvin attended to you," he sai
