I stared at Seline's lifeless body on the floor and raised my claws to my eyes, looking at the blood smeared on them, Seline's blood. For a brief moment, I felt a pang in my chest at the sight, almost as if I felt bad for what I had done.

"We shouldn't have killed her," I internalized.

"We did what was right. The old woman's death is long overdue; she has become so frail and tired. We did her a favor," my wolf replied.

I sighed, "She practically raised me…"

"And you let her live for so long, holding a reputable position amongst your staff. You did right by her while it lasted," he said irritably.

I shut my eyes for a few seconds in a bid to pay my last respects. She was like a mother to me, the mother I never had. She nurtured me when I was a child and watched me grow with love and patience despite the fact that I was a difficult child.

Everything changed when my older brother and I lost our father, and my brother left the pack to me while he went to carve his own niche.
