Lucius’ POV: The heartache filled me with rage, but at the same time it calmed me down. I couldn't leave Livia alone. I lowered my head and gently licked her wound, the taste of her warm blood reached my mouth and my body suddenly shuddered, feeling even more pain inside. But I couldn't stop, she was now badly wounded and my disinfecting saliva might be able to help her. "Lucius, that damned guy actually hurt Livia like this, this is something I will never tolerate, you must let him know our anger!" My wolf roared in my mind with rage as he cursed one sentence after another, seemingly influenced by him, and the killing intent in my heart intensified. "I still ...... can continue to fight." Suddenly I heard Livia's strong voice, she staggered and tried to stand up from the ground, but her action made my heart shake violently. More and more alike, she now seems to be getting closer and closer to the me at that time. But I looked at the wounds on her body and my brow furrowed.
Livia's POV; Is this still the Lucius I know? I silently hid under the shadow of the fence, I had a respite from those coyotes, but this time I froze, my eyes looked in one direction, but never moved again. Lucius stepped on the ground with a powerful pace and walked step by step towards the Beta of Nightshade Pack. Countless wild wolves flocked around him, the wolves wagged their tails respectfully, their eyes loyally gazing at the one figure in the center, his tall body protruding in the center of all the wolves. He was like the king of all the wild wolves, like a king with supreme power in the forest, the center of the world, and even the sunlight in the sky seemed to have lost some of its luster because of him. A large area of wild wolves in front gave way for him, and the world seemed to be divided, and the Beta of Nightshade Pack, who was once arrogant and powerful, also fled quickly like a dog with its tail between its legs when it saw him. The wolf king, I don't know wh
Lucius’ POV: "How did you know the direction I was heading and why is your jumping ability so strong!" As I landed, I saw Nightshade Pack's Beta stop in his tracks, his eyes turning to madness after his surprise. "I know, this must be the power brought to you by the jewel of Camelot, having the jewel not only allows you to control the wolf pack, but also gives you some other abilities, damn, the jewel should have been ours!" Beta of Nightshade Pack said as he moved his feet towards the back, his eyes rolling as he surveyed his surroundings, as if he wanted to escape from other directions. His move was clearly seen by me, and just before he tried to turn his torso, my body had leapt into mid-air and lunged directly towards his body! "No, you're not going to catch me!" Nightshade Pack's Beta howled crazily, then without the slightest hesitation, he turned around to escape again, but he was now within the distance of my attack. "Go to hell!" Without answering his words, the dist
Livia's POV: I followed closely behind the Nightshade warrior whom I sensed his ranking to be that of a Gamma. He took hastened steps and suddenly began to run towards the east of the Pack. I have never been to this part of the Pack before. Where could he be going? And how did he know the Crescent Pack so well, almost like he was being led by a map. Gradually my few opened up to what seemed like a cave enclosure, the more I drew closer to the cave, the more I felt my senses heightened. It was like a powerhouse to me as I felt like a god in this state. This is the Pack's Ephesus, what could the Gamma of Nightshade Pack be looking for in the Pack's Ephesus? My memory flashed back to the time when madam kalliope told me about the secrets of the Crescent Pack and how the Pack's biggest lifesource, the two fishes which dwells in the Pack's Ephesus should not be tampered with, of not it could cause a major setback for the pack. I looked up at the sky and noticed that the round full mo
Livia's POV: With this thought in mind, I made a firm resolution and then slowly used what was left of my net to crawl my way into the water. Once inside the water, I tried to struggle off the dagger from my chest and the water kept turning more dark red, my body became weaker and weaker as I felt as if life was slipping away from me. I wouldn't want to leave Lucius this way, but this was a sacrifice I had to make to change the history of our fate. The pain was eating away at my nerves even more intensely as my tolerance level depreciated, my strength became less and less, and my struggle became feeble. It was as if the sharp knife was swinging wildly inside me, my whole body was soaked, my hair was soaked as I laid flat down in the shallow stream that allowed half of my face to rest above the blood stained water. Blood kept flowing out of my body, all my strength seemed to be sucked away by the invisible forces of the river. My vision was becoming blurred but I managed to look

Lucius' POV: This is not real, this is a dream! The moment I turned back, my breathing stopped, then my heart felt like it was suddenly pierced by a knife, the silver moon up in the sky suddenly changed its color from that of silver to a deep color of red and I immediately knew that the pack Ephesus was tempered with. But. Where is Livia, I needed to keep her safe at this time… she wouldn't have the strength to fight as her powers are mostly triggered by the moon and this is a different kind of moon which gives off the opposite energy of what the blue moon gives. Suddenly, I felt the power of the jewel of Camelot rapidly dissipating as the countless coyotes began retreating back into the forest. Once again only I and my warriors were left to defend the Crescent Pack facing off against the vicious Nightshade Pack. “Alpha Lucius, you think you are all mighty and unstoppable…” an ugly laugh rang out from my left side and I immediately turned my head to see Alpha's Roshan standing a
Lucius' POV: My pupils were almost torn apart at this moment, and I didn't blink even though I felt blood filling the whites of my eyes. Livia is going to be fine, she's going to be fine. I frantically tore the werewolf in front of me to pieces, stepped on the blood all over the ground, and followed a straight line directly into the Ephesus. She had an arm-thick steel dagger right below the center of her chest, and the blood kept flowing down as if a valve had been opened. Such a wound, no! My heart was filled with panic as the power of the wolf beads focused on my right hand, and the next moment my sharp claws were on the dagger. The hard wooden handle of this assassin's dagger turned into crumbs in my claws, and the next moment I transformed into a human, I held Livia and put her out of the water, then pulled out the half wooden post on her chest at an angle. The steel dagger with blood fell aside while I frantically bandaged towards her wound with bandages made of clothes,
Livia's POV: Pregnancy was not easy. That I realized as my stomach grew and I became more and more worried. I worried about all the things that could go wrong during childbirth. I did not want to die, I wanted to be there for my child. Besides the worry and fear, there were my moodswings. I had to say that Lucius was very patient with me and I felt bad for him sometimes. I even felt bad for Ylva and Lydia who had to endure my outbursts. Adrian followed me everywhere as Lucius made him my personal guard and once in a while I would yell at him as well. Sometimes because I just wanted to and sometimes for no reason at all. Well, that's what happens when you don't get enough sleep because your stomach is in the way, when you constantly feel hungry and when everything feels uncomfortable. “Lydia, Ylva I do want you to work for me anymore. Bring someone that I won't feel bad yelling at. Like that maid Jessica or anyone I don't like.” I said feeling really bad for my moodswings. “No My
Lucius' POV: “Good morning.” She smiled while tucked under the sheets. “Good morning,” I said, turning so that I lay facing her. “Aren't you late? It's almost lunchtime.” She said. I groaned, not wanting to think of anything else but laying in bed with my mate. “I don't want to leave.” I admitted, reaching for her under the sheets. She was still naked. Good Lord. I wanted to touch her all over again as I remembered her bare body. I always thought she looked beautiful but now she was exquisite. She was fuller, more radiant and alive. She was ravishing. “Not again, Lucius.” She beamed at me. I was touching her under the sheets, enjoying the feel of her. “Why not?” “Because I need to be able to walk.” “Oh, but I would rather have you in bed all day.” I joked. Although it was partly true. “You never get enough, do you?” she shook her head at me. If only she knew. I thought. Livia sat up on the bed and then swung her legs down. “Oh God! She groaned, startled. “What?” “Nothin
Livia's POV: Lucius stiffened and the room went quiet. I could hear my own heart race and it felt like forever before he said, “what did you say?” “I said you will become a father soon,” I told him a bit louder and with more confidence. Slowly, Lucius took a few steps back and then turned away. Oh, God! He was not happy. Hopping down from the table I went to him. I put my hand lightly on his shoulder. “I understand if you are not happy.” Never having a relationship with his parents and what he went through growing up, could explain his reaction. “Happy?” He turned to me carefully and grabbed my arms. “I am not happy Livia. I am lucky. You make me the luckiest man on earth even if I don't deserve it.” I could see a mix of emotions in his eyes. Happiness, sadness and worry. “You deserve every bit of it,” I assured. “And you would be an amazing father.” His hands slid up to my face, holding it gently. “Livia, you are a blessing in my cursed existence.” I didn't know whether to
Livia's POV: When I woke up I'm the morning Lucius was already gone. I scolded myself for not telling him I was pregnant. I knew I was worrying for nothing and that the news would probably make him very happy. After getting dressed I decided to look for him immediately. I went straight to Lucius' office, there I saw him engrossed in the papers in his hands. I cleared my throat to capture his attention. Lucius put the papers down on the table and stood up before looking at me. “Did you already miss me, wife?” He smiled. “Am I disturbing you?” I asked walking over to him. “No, bit you are distracting me much.” He said letting his gaze rake my body. I did nothing to prepare myself so that he found me distracting despite everything, made me confident. Lucius tilted his head to one side and studied me even more closely. “Did you gain some weight?” He asked and my confidence went out the window. “I am not sure,” I mumbled. “You look…” his eyes darkened. I knew that gaze and it brou
Livia's POV: I am pregnant, I am pregnant, I am pregnant. I kept chanting those words to myself everyday. I could still not believe it. How do I tell Lucius? It haven't even been up to two weeks since the incidence that claimed his life, would he be happy to have a child in this mess? He had never said anything about wanting to have a child ever which made me a bit concerned. Somehow I felt that he wouldn't be thrilled. I tried to imagine his reaction in my head several times but I couldn't figure out what his expression would be like. “Ylva… I am pregnant,” I told her as she prepared me for the night. Ylva stared at me through the mirror. Her eyes twinkled with both surprise and happiness. “My Lady…!” She exclaimed after she opened her mouth several times but was not able to say anything. “Can… I hug you… once?” I blinked a few times in surprise. I and Ylva had been very close, closer than with Lydia it she had never asked for a hug before. The only time she hugged me was when
Livia’s POV: I felt as though a storm had struck me. My whole emotions was in a mess. The heartbeat that I heard against my ears were crisp and loud. The urge to press my ears deeper to his chest grew in me, wanting to make sure I wasn't wrong and my ears hadn't lied to me. I didn't want this to be a dream or the sweet illusion that had been repeating in my subconsciousness. When his voice slipped to my ears in the most sweetest way, once again a wave of emotions washed my entire heart. My tears filled the rim of my eyes and tears slowly dribbled uncontrollably from my eyes. I slowly lifted my chin up, looking around to feel his hand around me before my emerald eyes finally met with Lucius' deep red ones. “I'm sorry, did I make you wait for long?” He asked as though he hadn't died, as though I hadn't killed him and as though it has only been an hour of our separation, when it had been more than 12 hours. 12 hours might be a mere few hours to others, but not to me who bore the guil
Livia's POV: My emerald eyes turned wider, glint of red appeared on my eyes that the serpent didn't miss. Reaching out my hand, I tried to manifest Elise when the serpent began to shake its body, causing large ripples and waves to tower over me. I looked at the upcoming waves as it was about to devour me hungrily. The waves spread wide like a mountain, wanting to eat me alive. My eyes flared brighter with hint of redness as I raised my hand out of impulse and was surprisingly able to create a barrier wide enough to cover the boat from being consumed by the waves. While I was surprised that I still haven't discovered all what I could do with my abilities, I wanted to breathe out in relief, I realized it wasn't the end as the serpent had quickly arrived behind me, rushing towards me. I clicked my tongue, pushing myself on the other end of the boat and ducked down as the serpent was about to take a taste bite on me. During the fight, the creature didn't help me. Instead he continued t
Livia's POV: A single boat coasted towards the shore, at the side where I stood. On the end of the boat was a creature who was cloaked in black. Its body was shorter than mine as his back was hunched forward. From underneath his cloak, his black bones hands held the wooden paddle on his hand. Though his eyes was covered, I could feel it moving towards me as if he knew I needed to cross this deadly river. “You… are coming to the boat?” The hoarse voice of the creature was shrilling and there was a delay in his first words as if his tongue was having a difficulty on speaking quickly. I nodded my head before putting my feet on the surface of the boat. As I went onboard, the creature looked at me. No words exchanged, but I could see his displeasure, “Soul… give me.” “I won't be fully crossing the sea to the abyss,” I answered, “And only crossing the sea to the abyss would I need to pay, don't I?” The creature huffed to show his annoyance but he didn't reply as I was correct. While cr
Livia's POV: In the forest of the Crescent Pack, the place where I had found my Mate and my peace, a place which I had considered a safe haven now haunted me with memories of I and Lucius. I felt empty as a part of me now became lost, Elise, my wolf had been quiet and hadn't let out a sound since the minute Lucius gave out his last breath. I had prevented Adrain from coming along in order for me to gain full concentration. I was certain that no matter how narrow my chances were of seeing Lucius again, it would be enough for me to bring him back to life. I went deep into the forest till I hit to the spot where the old oak tree was planted. I couldn't remember the last time since I came to this part of the forest. The oak tree which stood in front of me now which I had named ‘grandma’ was my solace and healing place when I had no one, but Lucius came along and he became more than just a safe haven for me, he became my paradise and I planned spending every moment of my life in his embr
