Livia's POV:

“As a matter of fact, technically, I don't think I was born on this day!” My brain sparked at this sudden realization. I flashed back to the stories my mom used to tell me about the circumstances surrounding my birth, how I had died and was reborn the next day in the Pack's Ephesus.

“What do you mean by you weren't? Don't you know the date of your birth?” Adrian's voice was filled with curiosity as he urged me to explain what I meant.

“It's a long story Adrian, but I do hope your theory is correct.” A new wave of hope enveloped me and my face once again radiated with excitement.

Training session was swift and I already got a hang of the techniques, so it didn't feel as tiring as before.

“Livia, you're quite good with your defenses, but you need to put in more effort into your attacks!” Adrian cautioned at the end of the session.

“I'll make sure I put in my best trainer Adrian!” I had channeled all my frustration into my training today, it felt like I was venting out

Livia's POV: Suddenly, I was seized by a sharp pain. Intense pain wrapped around every bone in my body as I felt as if all my bones were about to explode. Cells were breaking down into atoms and then coming back together over and over again. In no time, my body was all wet with sweat. I was back! I snapped my eyes open as the familiar interior of my room greeted me. I bit my lips, grabbed the sheets and rolled around on the bed, which did nothing to relieve the pain. What the hell is going on here? What's happening to me? Am I going to die? I could feel the pains in my body intensifying as the heat took over my bones, muscles and nerves. My body seemed to be changing drastically. “Livia, hold on!” A voice appeared in my head. “It was… was this my first shift? The pain was almost pulling me into the abyss. My bones seem to be breaking and popping one by one, I was almost blurred in consciousness, and the time seemed to have stretched beyond recognition. I don't know how lo

Livia's POV: In no time, we arrived at our destination. The stump where we chatted the last time, this time it took us much less time to get here. Adrian and I sat on it for a short rest. “Livia, You're really fast! I feel like the trees and obstacles have no effect on you.” Adrian looked at me with shock in his eyes. “You have such a high talent in speed and evasion, as well as a keen sense of smell and hearing… This must be one of the characteristics of a rogue werewolf. As far as I know, The rogues are known for their great physical strength, but their movements are very sluggish. “I… I'm not a rogue werewolf.” “What?!” Adrian looked interested, “Then what's pack are you from?” I remember my pack, which perished 8 years ago, and the painful memory silenced me. “Livia… are you okay?” Adrian sounded like he sensed my slump And his inquiry sounded hesitant. “If you don't want to talk about it, Then don't. Everyone has privacy.” “No, we are friends and it's not something th

Lucius' POV: I suppressed my anger and left the training ground. After ordering two soldiers to bring Livia back to me, I returned to my room. The clock hanging on the wall moved forward one hand at a time, and there was a rattling outside the room door. They were the ones who brought Livia back. I had thought she would have some reflection when I asked the warriors to bring her back. But when I saw the blank expression on her face after the warriors left, The anger in my heart burned even more fiercely. “As a waste of time not only do you not train hard but actually room to the forest inside to waste time. Are you trying to get rid of your slave status by seducing the trainer?” Her eyes snapped open. “You are… why? You're my MATE… how could you… how could you humiliate me like that?” Livia's voice was filled with disbelief and confusion, she looked clueless and confused. Mate… The familiar irritation surged through my hair chest, The flames of anger rushed into my brain, an

Livia's POV The tremendous force almost crushed my arm. I felt even more aggravated. I wanted to retort to him, to deny his words, but a current suddenly appeared in the area where his skin was in contact with mine! My heart was beating even faster. The more intense hormonal scent was inhaled into my nostrils and I froze in my tracks, soaking in the wonderful smell… This is… what's going on? Lucius' palm was hot and I felt like I was almost melting under his hands. The light in the room shone on him and his whole being seemed to glow. I couldn't take my eyes off of him, and sparks spread throughout my body. I felt a heat that couldn't be radiated inside me, wrapped in a rolling lust That's ran under my skin. Hot, too hot. I had no control over what I was doing. I let out an unbearable moan, then clung to Lucius. Lucius… my Lucius. He was mine. My mate, my man. We are bound by the bond the moon goddess gave us. A sweet spring seemed to well up inside me. You want him! Livia!

Livia's POV: But when the moment actually came, it was like I was dragged into a bottomless abyss. Tears of humiliation spilled out of my eyes, And I didn't see anything more, sitting on the ground sobbing like a fool. “If any of the others find out you're my MATE, Then you're out of my pack!” The icy warning slammed into my heart. I sat numb on the bed, watching Lucius put on his shirt and leave the place. I stared blankly in the direction Lucius had left, looking at the empty, dark room, I felt something running inside my eyes, the fierce look in Lucius' eyes and his voice in my head the whole time. His disgusted eyes appeared in my mind again, and I remembered how Lucius had treated me before, and suddenly felt overwhelmed with aggression. I sat on the bed like a statue, my eyes staring blankly at the door of the room. How could he do this to me? I was his MATE! Though my birthday had passed but he knew about it now, and he left me here all alone. I tried to calm myself d

Livia's POV: They were so occupied that they didn't even notice me approaching them. Curious to what made them so engrossed, I stood on an empty stool beside them and peeked through the small window. The first thing I saw was the women dancing around each other in circles wearing clothes that covered nothing but their private parts. They were swaying their hips and twisting seductively with their bodies to some music that I couldn't hear. “Oh… they are so beautiful.” A maid spoke while never taking her eyes off the dancing women. My eyes traveled to the back of the room where a group of men were sitting watching the dancers. I recognized the general, who was sitting in the middle with a glass of wine in his hand. He had a smirk on his face and was speaking to someone sitting next to him. Lucius! Lucius nodded and watched the dancers intently. His gaze was dark and held an emotion I couldn't identify. Now some men were leading a few dancers out of the room. “Wow… did you see the

Lucius' POV: I don't know how long it took until I opened my eyes for the second time, I felt that the fatigue in my body mostly disappeared, and when I looked up and saw the clock on the wall, I realized I had slept from yesterday evening to this afternoon. I didn't realize that I had slept for so long. I wonder how Livia is doing? I haven't set eyes on her since our last encounter… which I wasn't proud of. Livia's POV: The sun set out in the morning as I hurriedly went through my chores, trying so hard to put what happened last night behind me, but it was all to no avail. I didn't know that Lucius had preferred blondes to any kind of lady and I suddenly imagined what I would look like if I was a blonde instead of a white haired girl. I didn't think about it anymore as Lucius had ordered me to meet him in the training ground, and I went straight to the training ground after finishing up my chores. There were some young wolves who had already started training, and the slogan t

Lucius' POV: As I thought, Livia is pathetically weak, her current strength level is only equivalent to those young wolves who just came to the training ground, and only her dodging ability can barely reach the standard of a warrior. She was only lucky to have won against the skilled swordsman because of her talent in speed. She still needs to undergo more training to at least get to a level where I can stop worrying. The day passed quickly and I didn't let up on her training, I trained her rigorously in every move until she was almost unable to stand up. She was so weak, she couldn't handle just a little training. Looking at her tired expression I shook my head, although she was important to me, she was still a weakling in my eyes too. I just hope my training will make her stronger. After the training was over, I left the training ground directly, I went round the pack to inspect a few things that needed changes and by the time I got back to my quarters, I found dinner already

Livia's POV: Pregnancy was not easy. That I realized as my stomach grew and I became more and more worried. I worried about all the things that could go wrong during childbirth. I did not want to die, I wanted to be there for my child. Besides the worry and fear, there were my moodswings. I had to say that Lucius was very patient with me and I felt bad for him sometimes. I even felt bad for Ylva and Lydia who had to endure my outbursts. Adrian followed me everywhere as Lucius made him my personal guard and once in a while I would yell at him as well. Sometimes because I just wanted to and sometimes for no reason at all. Well, that's what happens when you don't get enough sleep because your stomach is in the way, when you constantly feel hungry and when everything feels uncomfortable. “Lydia, Ylva I do want you to work for me anymore. Bring someone that I won't feel bad yelling at. Like that maid Jessica or anyone I don't like.” I said feeling really bad for my moodswings. “No My

Lucius' POV: “Good morning.” She smiled while tucked under the sheets. “Good morning,” I said, turning so that I lay facing her. “Aren't you late? It's almost lunchtime.” She said. I groaned, not wanting to think of anything else but laying in bed with my mate. “I don't want to leave.” I admitted, reaching for her under the sheets. She was still naked. Good Lord. I wanted to touch her all over again as I remembered her bare body. I always thought she looked beautiful but now she was exquisite. She was fuller, more radiant and alive. She was ravishing. “Not again, Lucius.” She beamed at me. I was touching her under the sheets, enjoying the feel of her. “Why not?” “Because I need to be able to walk.” “Oh, but I would rather have you in bed all day.” I joked. Although it was partly true. “You never get enough, do you?” she shook her head at me. If only she knew. I thought. Livia sat up on the bed and then swung her legs down. “Oh God! She groaned, startled. “What?” “Nothin

Livia's POV: Lucius stiffened and the room went quiet. I could hear my own heart race and it felt like forever before he said, “what did you say?” “I said you will become a father soon,” I told him a bit louder and with more confidence. Slowly, Lucius took a few steps back and then turned away. Oh, God! He was not happy. Hopping down from the table I went to him. I put my hand lightly on his shoulder. “I understand if you are not happy.” Never having a relationship with his parents and what he went through growing up, could explain his reaction. “Happy?” He turned to me carefully and grabbed my arms. “I am not happy Livia. I am lucky. You make me the luckiest man on earth even if I don't deserve it.” I could see a mix of emotions in his eyes. Happiness, sadness and worry. “You deserve every bit of it,” I assured. “And you would be an amazing father.” His hands slid up to my face, holding it gently. “Livia, you are a blessing in my cursed existence.” I didn't know whether to

Livia's POV: When I woke up I'm the morning Lucius was already gone. I scolded myself for not telling him I was pregnant. I knew I was worrying for nothing and that the news would probably make him very happy. After getting dressed I decided to look for him immediately. I went straight to Lucius' office, there I saw him engrossed in the papers in his hands. I cleared my throat to capture his attention. Lucius put the papers down on the table and stood up before looking at me. “Did you already miss me, wife?” He smiled. “Am I disturbing you?” I asked walking over to him. “No, bit you are distracting me much.” He said letting his gaze rake my body. I did nothing to prepare myself so that he found me distracting despite everything, made me confident. Lucius tilted his head to one side and studied me even more closely. “Did you gain some weight?” He asked and my confidence went out the window. “I am not sure,” I mumbled. “You look…” his eyes darkened. I knew that gaze and it brou

Livia's POV: I am pregnant, I am pregnant, I am pregnant. I kept chanting those words to myself everyday. I could still not believe it. How do I tell Lucius? It haven't even been up to two weeks since the incidence that claimed his life, would he be happy to have a child in this mess? He had never said anything about wanting to have a child ever which made me a bit concerned. Somehow I felt that he wouldn't be thrilled. I tried to imagine his reaction in my head several times but I couldn't figure out what his expression would be like. “Ylva… I am pregnant,” I told her as she prepared me for the night. Ylva stared at me through the mirror. Her eyes twinkled with both surprise and happiness. “My Lady…!” She exclaimed after she opened her mouth several times but was not able to say anything. “Can… I hug you… once?” I blinked a few times in surprise. I and Ylva had been very close, closer than with Lydia it she had never asked for a hug before. The only time she hugged me was when

Livia’s POV: I felt as though a storm had struck me. My whole emotions was in a mess. The heartbeat that I heard against my ears were crisp and loud. The urge to press my ears deeper to his chest grew in me, wanting to make sure I wasn't wrong and my ears hadn't lied to me. I didn't want this to be a dream or the sweet illusion that had been repeating in my subconsciousness. When his voice slipped to my ears in the most sweetest way, once again a wave of emotions washed my entire heart. My tears filled the rim of my eyes and tears slowly dribbled uncontrollably from my eyes. I slowly lifted my chin up, looking around to feel his hand around me before my emerald eyes finally met with Lucius' deep red ones. “I'm sorry, did I make you wait for long?” He asked as though he hadn't died, as though I hadn't killed him and as though it has only been an hour of our separation, when it had been more than 12 hours. 12 hours might be a mere few hours to others, but not to me who bore the guil

Livia's POV: My emerald eyes turned wider, glint of red appeared on my eyes that the serpent didn't miss. Reaching out my hand, I tried to manifest Elise when the serpent began to shake its body, causing large ripples and waves to tower over me. I looked at the upcoming waves as it was about to devour me hungrily. The waves spread wide like a mountain, wanting to eat me alive. My eyes flared brighter with hint of redness as I raised my hand out of impulse and was surprisingly able to create a barrier wide enough to cover the boat from being consumed by the waves. While I was surprised that I still haven't discovered all what I could do with my abilities, I wanted to breathe out in relief, I realized it wasn't the end as the serpent had quickly arrived behind me, rushing towards me. I clicked my tongue, pushing myself on the other end of the boat and ducked down as the serpent was about to take a taste bite on me. During the fight, the creature didn't help me. Instead he continued t

Livia's POV: A single boat coasted towards the shore, at the side where I stood. On the end of the boat was a creature who was cloaked in black. Its body was shorter than mine as his back was hunched forward. From underneath his cloak, his black bones hands held the wooden paddle on his hand. Though his eyes was covered, I could feel it moving towards me as if he knew I needed to cross this deadly river. “You… are coming to the boat?” The hoarse voice of the creature was shrilling and there was a delay in his first words as if his tongue was having a difficulty on speaking quickly. I nodded my head before putting my feet on the surface of the boat. As I went onboard, the creature looked at me. No words exchanged, but I could see his displeasure, “Soul… give me.” “I won't be fully crossing the sea to the abyss,” I answered, “And only crossing the sea to the abyss would I need to pay, don't I?” The creature huffed to show his annoyance but he didn't reply as I was correct. I felt empty as a part of me now became lost, Elise, my wolf had been quiet and hadn't let out a sound since the minute Lucius gave out his last breath. I had prevented Adrain from coming along in order for me to gain full concentration. I was certain that no matter how narrow my chances were of seeing Lucius again, it would be enough for me to bring him back to life. I went deep into the forest till I hit to the spot where the old oak tree was planted. I couldn't remember the last time since I came to this part of the forest. The oak tree which stood in front of me now which I had named ‘grandma’ was my solace and healing place when I had no one, but Lucius came along and he became more than just a safe haven for me, he became my paradise and I planned spending every moment of my life in his embr
