Lucius' POV: “What are you doing here?” I heard a sharp voice sounding from behind me, who could come to disturb my peace at this hour? I turned to look at the person who spoke, though I knew the voice so well that it was almost imprinted in my mind. It was Livia, what could she be doing here by this time? “This is my spot, I should be asking you that question.” I answered, puzzled by her question. “This is Lucius' spot, you have no right to be here.” Has she gone blind? What does she mean by Lucius' spot when I'm clearly standing in front of her… it was at this moment that I realized that I was still in my human form as I was lost in my thoughts that I didn't sense her coming. “Ooh!” Was all I could mutter out, I needed to look for a way to get rid of her before things gets out of hand. “Have you been stalking me? Despite the show you put on in the training ground a few hours ago you still have the guts to stalk me!” She can't be serious right now, I could stalk her all day
Livia's POV: “Who are you?” I asked in disbelief as the gold eyed man from the training ground instantly changed into his wolf form on seeing me fall and I realized it had been Lucius all along. He quickly tore his clothes to pieces on seeing the injury on my ankle as he used it to form a temporary bandage to cover my wounds. “You've been living this double life this whole time? Why didn't you tell me?” I asked, still trying to figure out if I was in a dream state, but the pain I felt on my ankle could have woken me up from any state. “I've been wanting to tell you for some time now, but held back because I felt the time wasn't yet right.” “But, when were you ever going to tell me?” I wanted to say before he placed his finger on my lips. I'll explain everything to you detailedly but first let's take care of your wounds.” He stood up and I also followed suit, but my ankle could no longer bear the weight of my body as it caused an alarming pain to ring in my head. A cry escaped my
Livia's POV: “I passed out on the day I was born but my parents refused to accept that fate, so they took me to the Pack's Ephesus.” I replied to hear Lucius humming and the cotton dabbed again to my wounds. Unable to hold the pain, I gasped and a cry left my lips with my back thrown to the couch, “awww.” I cried, I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. Lucius stopped for a while and his eyes intently watching me cry with the smile on his lips disappearing. His eyes shifted to my fingers which were already digging the pillow beside me. I sniffed, and he brought his hand to my cheeks and like a sweet coaxing, it helped me to calm down. But once again Lucius slid down the cotton to my ankles. I flinched, I brought my hands to cover my lips and seeing this, Lucius slipped his hand to me, bringing it away from my lips. “Does it hurt?” He asked and I nodded. The tears moved when I brought my head up and down, I don't know why but I felt completely vulnerable to this man. “Bear
Livia's POV: Lucius carried me on his arm as brought me back to the Villa in the excuse that he doesn't want my wounds to get worsened by walking, and for the first time since I knew him he actually brought me to the front of the Villa, not like other times when he stopped a few blocks away for whatever reason. I was glad he chose to reveal everything to me today, it made me understand every reason for his actions and the situation was quite different than I assumed. I went into the kitchen unnoticed as I went to see if I could find madam kalliope there, Instead I met one of the senior maids, Clara. The one who asked me to help in the kitchen the other day. “Livia!” “Yes!” I answered, trying to recall her name again. “Where have you been, come in and make some more tea. We have guests.” Clara ordered. “Alright. Where should I serve it?” I asked. “In the guest room.” I nodded. “What happened to your feet?” “Oh…” I put my injured leg behind the uninjured one. “Nothing.” I shoo
Livia's POV: I found a presence towering over me as I stirred In my sleep and opened my eyes slowly. I blinked several times before running my eyes and then slowly put my hands over my head and stretched. Halfway through the stretch I took notice of a manly blue eyes staring intensely at me as this caused me to freeze in my actions. “Wait!” Had I fallen asleep on the Royal’s bed? I came into a sudden realization as I came out of my state of shock and rolled off the bed quickly and stood at the other end, my eyes darted around the room looking everywhere except him. Why hadn't he woken me up and scolded me? He just stared at me with an amused expression making it seem like he wanted to laugh at my reaction. “Your Highness… I…” I swallowed hard, “I…I was just… I didn't mean to fall asleep…I apologize.” I rubbed my hands together nervously, still avoiding looking at him. When he said nothing I raised my gaze slowly, looking directly into his eyes at intervals, for a moment it seemed
Livia's POV: It was the eve of the coronation night and Alpha Xandros had declared a feast for all the pack members to be held in the same spot where the coronation would be held. It had been a long tiring day as I felt like I had been given the most strenuous tasks. Madam Kalliope had been too busy in the kitchen so she couldn't come to my rescue. I was single handedly left to clean the west wing of the villa alone, I had been upset that I wasn't given the same duties as Ylva and Lydia as they were walking out on the field preparing for the feast. “The coronation is tomorrow mom, we're running out of time!” I heard a sudden raised voice from one of the rooms. The voice was so familiar that I knew at a shot that it was Xandros, but what could he be doing here? I walked in closer to the room where I heard his voice from. It wasn't my intention to eavesdrop but my curiosity was like a siren's call pulling me towards the room. “Why don't we just send the guards to capture him and th
Livia's POV: I slowly snuck out of the villa’s premises, using all my mind to remember the route to Lucius' house, the moon was already out in the sky and I was leaving the villa, more people were trooping in for the feast, the training ground building stood before me and I stood still trying to figure out what route to follow. I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings as many unfamiliar faces surrounded me, all rushing off to the feast. Suddenly, two giant hands grabbed my arms on both sides. What is happening? I looked around confused only to find Alpha Xandros' guards had already surrounded me. “Let go of me! Why are you taking me?” I got no reply as they dragged me with little effort back to the villa. Why is this happening now? I needed to get across to Lucius… What games do Xandros want to play? Instead of taking me to the villa, they brought me directly to where the feast was being held. When we arrived at the field, I was surprised at the amount of people who came for
Livia's POV: This man's name was Boaz. The crowd changed his name as the fight started, but once he missed a strike, the chanting lessened and when he missed three strikes; it became quiet. It looked like he never missed before, but I was smaller and quicker than him. I easily stepped away from each strike with little effort thanks to my enhanced dodging skills. Boaz frowned, his face hardened. He tightened his grip on the sword and made himself ready to attack, this time showing no mercy. But he could still not even hit me once. Adrian knew I was provoking him on purpose. Warming him up while entertaining the crowd. I felt like I could easily finish him, but there was no fun in that. I looked up to see where Xandros sat. He tried to remain calm, but I could see the worry in his eyes, he should not have bargained with a fight. When Boaz became a little tired, I began my attack. My sword hit his shield with such force that he stumbled a few steps back. Gasps came from the crowd. B
Livia's POV: Pregnancy was not easy. That I realized as my stomach grew and I became more and more worried. I worried about all the things that could go wrong during childbirth. I did not want to die, I wanted to be there for my child. Besides the worry and fear, there were my moodswings. I had to say that Lucius was very patient with me and I felt bad for him sometimes. I even felt bad for Ylva and Lydia who had to endure my outbursts. Adrian followed me everywhere as Lucius made him my personal guard and once in a while I would yell at him as well. Sometimes because I just wanted to and sometimes for no reason at all. Well, that's what happens when you don't get enough sleep because your stomach is in the way, when you constantly feel hungry and when everything feels uncomfortable. “Lydia, Ylva I do want you to work for me anymore. Bring someone that I won't feel bad yelling at. Like that maid Jessica or anyone I don't like.” I said feeling really bad for my moodswings. “No My
Lucius' POV: “Good morning.” She smiled while tucked under the sheets. “Good morning,” I said, turning so that I lay facing her. “Aren't you late? It's almost lunchtime.” She said. I groaned, not wanting to think of anything else but laying in bed with my mate. “I don't want to leave.” I admitted, reaching for her under the sheets. She was still naked. Good Lord. I wanted to touch her all over again as I remembered her bare body. I always thought she looked beautiful but now she was exquisite. She was fuller, more radiant and alive. She was ravishing. “Not again, Lucius.” She beamed at me. I was touching her under the sheets, enjoying the feel of her. “Why not?” “Because I need to be able to walk.” “Oh, but I would rather have you in bed all day.” I joked. Although it was partly true. “You never get enough, do you?” she shook her head at me. If only she knew. I thought. Livia sat up on the bed and then swung her legs down. “Oh God! She groaned, startled. “What?” “Nothin
Livia's POV: Lucius stiffened and the room went quiet. I could hear my own heart race and it felt like forever before he said, “what did you say?” “I said you will become a father soon,” I told him a bit louder and with more confidence. Slowly, Lucius took a few steps back and then turned away. Oh, God! He was not happy. Hopping down from the table I went to him. I put my hand lightly on his shoulder. “I understand if you are not happy.” Never having a relationship with his parents and what he went through growing up, could explain his reaction. “Happy?” He turned to me carefully and grabbed my arms. “I am not happy Livia. I am lucky. You make me the luckiest man on earth even if I don't deserve it.” I could see a mix of emotions in his eyes. Happiness, sadness and worry. “You deserve every bit of it,” I assured. “And you would be an amazing father.” His hands slid up to my face, holding it gently. “Livia, you are a blessing in my cursed existence.” I didn't know whether to
Livia's POV: When I woke up I'm the morning Lucius was already gone. I scolded myself for not telling him I was pregnant. I knew I was worrying for nothing and that the news would probably make him very happy. After getting dressed I decided to look for him immediately. I went straight to Lucius' office, there I saw him engrossed in the papers in his hands. I cleared my throat to capture his attention. Lucius put the papers down on the table and stood up before looking at me. “Did you already miss me, wife?” He smiled. “Am I disturbing you?” I asked walking over to him. “No, bit you are distracting me much.” He said letting his gaze rake my body. I did nothing to prepare myself so that he found me distracting despite everything, made me confident. Lucius tilted his head to one side and studied me even more closely. “Did you gain some weight?” He asked and my confidence went out the window. “I am not sure,” I mumbled. “You look…” his eyes darkened. I knew that gaze and it brou
Livia's POV: I am pregnant, I am pregnant, I am pregnant. I kept chanting those words to myself everyday. I could still not believe it. How do I tell Lucius? It haven't even been up to two weeks since the incidence that claimed his life, would he be happy to have a child in this mess? He had never said anything about wanting to have a child ever which made me a bit concerned. Somehow I felt that he wouldn't be thrilled. I tried to imagine his reaction in my head several times but I couldn't figure out what his expression would be like. “Ylva… I am pregnant,” I told her as she prepared me for the night. Ylva stared at me through the mirror. Her eyes twinkled with both surprise and happiness. “My Lady…!” She exclaimed after she opened her mouth several times but was not able to say anything. “Can… I hug you… once?” I blinked a few times in surprise. I and Ylva had been very close, closer than with Lydia it she had never asked for a hug before. The only time she hugged me was when
Livia’s POV: I felt as though a storm had struck me. My whole emotions was in a mess. The heartbeat that I heard against my ears were crisp and loud. The urge to press my ears deeper to his chest grew in me, wanting to make sure I wasn't wrong and my ears hadn't lied to me. I didn't want this to be a dream or the sweet illusion that had been repeating in my subconsciousness. When his voice slipped to my ears in the most sweetest way, once again a wave of emotions washed my entire heart. My tears filled the rim of my eyes and tears slowly dribbled uncontrollably from my eyes. I slowly lifted my chin up, looking around to feel his hand around me before my emerald eyes finally met with Lucius' deep red ones. “I'm sorry, did I make you wait for long?” He asked as though he hadn't died, as though I hadn't killed him and as though it has only been an hour of our separation, when it had been more than 12 hours. 12 hours might be a mere few hours to others, but not to me who bore the guil
Livia's POV: My emerald eyes turned wider, glint of red appeared on my eyes that the serpent didn't miss. Reaching out my hand, I tried to manifest Elise when the serpent began to shake its body, causing large ripples and waves to tower over me. I looked at the upcoming waves as it was about to devour me hungrily. The waves spread wide like a mountain, wanting to eat me alive. My eyes flared brighter with hint of redness as I raised my hand out of impulse and was surprisingly able to create a barrier wide enough to cover the boat from being consumed by the waves. While I was surprised that I still haven't discovered all what I could do with my abilities, I wanted to breathe out in relief, I realized it wasn't the end as the serpent had quickly arrived behind me, rushing towards me. I clicked my tongue, pushing myself on the other end of the boat and ducked down as the serpent was about to take a taste bite on me. During the fight, the creature didn't help me. Instead he continued t
Livia's POV: A single boat coasted towards the shore, at the side where I stood. On the end of the boat was a creature who was cloaked in black. Its body was shorter than mine as his back was hunched forward. From underneath his cloak, his black bones hands held the wooden paddle on his hand. Though his eyes was covered, I could feel it moving towards me as if he knew I needed to cross this deadly river. “You… are coming to the boat?” The hoarse voice of the creature was shrilling and there was a delay in his first words as if his tongue was having a difficulty on speaking quickly. I nodded my head before putting my feet on the surface of the boat. As I went onboard, the creature looked at me. No words exchanged, but I could see his displeasure, “Soul… give me.” “I won't be fully crossing the sea to the abyss,” I answered, “And only crossing the sea to the abyss would I need to pay, don't I?” The creature huffed to show his annoyance but he didn't reply as I was correct. While cr
Livia's POV: In the forest of the Crescent Pack, the place where I had found my Mate and my peace, a place which I had considered a safe haven now haunted me with memories of I and Lucius. I felt empty as a part of me now became lost, Elise, my wolf had been quiet and hadn't let out a sound since the minute Lucius gave out his last breath. I had prevented Adrain from coming along in order for me to gain full concentration. I was certain that no matter how narrow my chances were of seeing Lucius again, it would be enough for me to bring him back to life. I went deep into the forest till I hit to the spot where the old oak tree was planted. I couldn't remember the last time since I came to this part of the forest. The oak tree which stood in front of me now which I had named ‘grandma’ was my solace and healing place when I had no one, but Lucius came along and he became more than just a safe haven for me, he became my paradise and I planned spending every moment of my life in his embr
