Livia's POV:
Oh no! I almost escaped their sight, if my hair had been left black by the moon goddess, I'm sure I wouldn't have been noticed by the enemies. “Is my hair a blessing or a curse?” I cried out in my heart. “You there behind the bushes, come out now!” “Maybe If I stay still they'll give up and go on their way, besides it's almost dawn,” I thought to myself. “I said come out this instant!” the voice sounded again, this time coming closer. He came to the side of the bushes and looked down directly at me, I felt a grip on my shoulders as he yanked my hands to pull me out! Looking at this man in front of me, there were scars on his face, one which started from his temple down to his eyebrows cutting across his left eyes. I could sense his powers but his is from a lower rank than that of the Beta's. He looked down angrily at me like he could fling me across the forest with any slight provocation, I closed my eyes anticipating what is to come. “You stubborn little brat! How dare you disobey my command!” He roared, sending a resounding slap across my cheeks. I staggered trying to maintain my balance but my legs gave out as I fell to the ground, my cheeks stinging from the slap he gave me and hot tears falling freely from my eyes. He pulled me up dragging me across the blood stained battle ground, fresh images from earlier came playing in my mind as a feeling of nostalgia enveloped me. When we got to the rest of the group, he threw me across the floor as I landed at the foot of the Beta. “Who do we have here?” he cast a mocking gaze at me. “I found her hiding behind the bushes, obviously thinking she could outsmart us. Fortunately for us, her white hair gave her away,” the scared faced man told the Beta. “What do we do with her now?” “Well, time is not on our side, we'll take her back as a gift to Alpha Xandro, she's a pretty one!” He said, pushing my hair back as he caressed my face. “Bring her along.” One of the warriors came out and immediately he picked me up, they all transformed back to their wolf form as they started running heading towards the east of the forest. The werewolf who picked me up was running without a single care in the world as my body brushed the trees and my head went up and down continuously. I soon felt dizzy and didn't know when I lost consciousness. ***** ***** I slowly opened my eyes as the rising sun already brought life to the forest and I couldn't feel the galloping movement of the warriors anymore, they slowed down their pace as the syneries were gradually changing, my body once again came alive in this beautiful forest, the colorful birds and flowers, the scent of nature awakening my senses, I could feel my pupils dilate as I marvel at this wonderful sight, too bad it wasn't for me to enjoy as I was now a captive in the mercy of these mysterious werewolves and I didn't know what awaits me. I'm thankful the warriors decided to slow down their pace. At least I have a chance of appreciating nature once more. We passed by a bed of gloomy flowers that bloomed once my fingertips came in contact with them. This is my gift from the moon goddess, the gift of Life!. I felt the morning breeze on my neck as the warrior released his firm grip on me. I shifted my neck to look at his face, our eyes met as he smiled at me, his blue eyes emitting nothing but kindness. “What's wrong with him?” I thought to myself. “ I'm not about to smile at someone who's holding me captive.” “I'm only carrying out orders,” he whispered to me as if he could read my thoughts. “I'm not talking to someone who contributed in attacking my pack!” I needed not to say much as I sensed he could read my eyes. The trees soon gave way to a giant iron gate as the people gathered around to welcome their warriors, I could sense curiosity from them with their gaze piercing into my soul. “Who's the white haired lady?” One of the women whispered to another who stood near her. “Her eyes are green, maybe she's from another species!” another said. I could hear everything they were saying, word for word thanks to my super hearing ability. I bowed my head to hide my eyes from them but I could do nothing to hide my hair. This pack surpassed my pack in many ways, by number, by size, their buildings are massive and they seem to be of higher intelligence. We passed by their training ground, the building there was five times the size of ours, their training equipments were of high standards. If I couldn't fit in then at the Rogues pack, I have no chance of fitting in here. Suddenly I felt chills and goosebumps grow on my skin, someone was watching me. Well everyone's eyes were on me but this one is different. I raised my head up and twisted my neck sideways in search of this mystery person but I could only meet more curious eyes, I sensed it again, this time it was coming from the training building. I caught it! A pair of gold colored eyes fixated on me. My body twitched as I squinted my eyes trying to make out the face of this mystery man, he seemed to care less as he turned his face to continue his training. We passed the training ground and now gradually approached another building, this one's bigger than the rest with ancient designs imprinted on the walls making it stand out amongst all buildings and I knew at once that this would be the residence of the Alpha. The warriors were welcomed by the guards as they gave way for us to proceed inside, I could feel their gaze as they stared intently at me. Once we were inside, my jaw dropped. I've never seen anything as majestic as this in my entire 17 years on earth. The interior decorations were given ancient designs with a touch of classiness. “Welcome my noble warriors!” a voice rang out from the dining area. “Long live Luna Lysandra!” the warriors chanted at once. “Luna Lysandra?” I turned my head to look at this woman who seemed to be the commanding voice around here, possessing the structure and stance like that of a female warrior, her short blonde hair resting at the base of her back, her deep blue eyes seemed to have some sparks of fire in them and a dangerous aura surrounded her. Just then a man who seemed to be in his early twenties came out, his dark brown hair complementing his light skin, his blue eyes held no power as his aura appeared weak. “Who could this man be?”Livia's POV:“Long live Alpha Xandro!” the warriors voice sounded bringing me back from my thoughts.“Alpha? Are they blind to have crowned this man as Alpha?” I could sense his powers and his ranking isn't up to some of the warriors present here, he has such a weak demeanor, something must be wrong.“Who's the white haired lady?” Asked Luna Lysandra.“We brought her back as a captive from the Rogues pack we conquered,” answered Beta Cedric signaling to the warrior holding me to put me down.“I don't think we have a use for such thing around here,” she said, referring to me.I was placed down by the warrior but I couldn't stand as my legs felt wobbly from being carried all night. I fell to the floor and immediately bowed my head avoiding any form of eye contact.“She's pretty, I like her, she might be useful,” Alpha Xandro said in a tone as if asking for her permission. “We might use an extra helping hand around here.”“Damn this pervert!” I cursed silently. If Luna Lysandra had disco
Livia's POV: It was night already as the moon shone brightly outside. “Moon goddess give me your blessings,” I prayed in my heart before tiptoeing out of my room, looking both left and right to ensure I wasn't being watched by anyone, I then made my way straight to the door. Tying my long white hair in a bun just above my shoulders to avoid being discovered by the guards, I hid behind a huge vase at the entrance, thanks to my petite figure I was able to fit perfectly behind the vase. Three guards stood at the entrance clutching firmly to their swords, they wore the same designs of uniforms but one could easily tell them apart. They were backing against the door making it easy for me to creep out while jumping from vase to vase, stopping after every few moves to check if I was being monitored. I was almost at the rear end of the building where no guards were positioned when suddenly my body accidentally hit the large vase I was hiding behind causing it to make a loud sound that at
Lucius' POV: “Don't tell me you're trying to escape!” I asked trying to get her to respond back, but she immediately turned around on hearing my words still trying to run away from me. I blocked her again in the opposite direction. “Who are you huh?” She looked at me with eyes that never seemed to accept defeat. “You can never escape from the Crescent Pack,” I said avoiding her question. “Your speed is nothing compared to an average warrior, you had better turn back.” I advised in a soft and gentle manner. “Who are you to give me orders?”she barked back at me. She's a stubborn one. I said to myself. “I can take you back myself if I want to, but I don't see any gain in doing such. It's better you go back yourself, you have no chance of escaping don't make things worse than it already is.” “I see you are lucky to have been taken in as a maid and not a slave, I would advise you go back if you don't want your status to drop.” I didn't know why I took my time to explain to her
Livia's POV: “I knew you would come back.” This warm voice sounded so familiar, I couldn't mistake it for anyone other than madam kalliope. “I…I…I, I was, I was just...” Beads of sweat gathered on my forehead as I started trying to give an explanation as to why I was out hiding by this time I open my mouth to talk what no words could come out. “Save your words child, tell me everything once we are inside. But for now let's try to keep out of sight, come with me I know a secret passageway.” I was thankful to the moon goddess for bringing madam kalliope to save me. She always looks at me with warmth in her eyes as a mother would to her child, reminding me of my mom. “Maybe this place isn't so bad afterall.” Madame Kalliope took me through the back of the building and she opened a secret door leading down to the basement. I saw her bring out a bunch of keys tied to the hem of her blouse as she fiddled with the lock in an attempt to unlock the door. We went down quickly, walking
Livia's POV: “Now, tell me about your little adventure yesterday.” Madam kalliope said while staring directly at me. I bowed my head in shame as I didn't want her to see the emotions in my eyes, I was so naive to have swung into action without proper planning. “I tried to escape last night, but Midway I realized I had no way to run to and it wouldn't take much effort before the warriors would catch up with me, I'm sorry madam kalliope.” I said looking up into her eyes to see if I could catch the glimpse of any emotion. I failed at that as I sensed she was a pro in masking emotions. “No need to be sorry child, I totally understand… I heard the large vase underneath my room's window make some weird noises so I peered down to see what was meddling with it only to find you at the scene. So that was how she found out. I whispered silently to myself. “I knew what you were up to immediately, but decided not to raise any alarm as I was certain that you would come back, so I set out
Livia's POV: I pleaded with madam kalliope if there was a way I could be allowed to go train with the rest of the warriors in the training ground. “Woman don't train in the Crescent Pack, all training and fighting are left to the men to handle.” was the only response I got. “Why do you wish train?” I turned to look at her, though I had been expecting this question. I don't trust her well enough to tell her about my plans of revenge to the Nightshade Pack so I had to come up with another reason. “I want to be able to defend myself and the pack in case of another invasion, I'm tired of running and hiding wishing I could do something to help, that's just an excuse of being a coward.” I said to her genuinely. I could tell I had touched a soft spot in the heart, as she put on an impressed expression. “Child, don't have to worry about invasions anymore, no pack is stupid enough to attack the Crescent Pack. We surpass them both in strength and in number and we have the blessings of t
Livia's POV: “You know you owe me right.” “How?” Was the only word I could alter as he left me speechless. How can I owe him when I obviously just got here, I was really not in the mood for long talk as I needed to get on my way to the training ground. I needed to figure out how to put an end to this conversation very fast. “I helped you obtain your maid’s position, without my intervention you would have been held as a prisoner, being tortured in the dungeon by now.” Ooh, so that's what this is about, if that's the case, then a “thank you” should do. “I'm really grateful for your help Alpha Xandros, thank you so very much.” I was indeed grateful to him because his words were true. “No no, a thank you wouldn't just do it, but we will discuss that later. You’re dismissed.” I immediately turned my back to leave, I could feel his gaze on my body, I could tell the thoughts running through his mind were impure, and what did he mean by a thank you wouldn't just do it? I discarded th
Livia’s POV: “It's my turn to attack, be on guard, Livia.” He commanded. With a swift nod, I also took a defensive stance, just then I heard a gust of wind brushed past my eyes as his right arm came flying like a stray bullet. I hurriedly put my arms in front of my eyes anticipating his attack, but instead I felt a sharp pain at the side of my stomach. I felt pain ringing in my brain as I crouched down to the floor slowly while holding the sides of my stomach I couldn't bear to keep my body up. “You tricked me.” I looked at him with pain evident in my eyes. “I told you to be alert.” he said looking down at me as I clutched my hands to the side of my stomach. I won't accept defeat like this! I sobered up as the pain soon subsided and I stood up to face him again even though I wasn't healed yet. He continued his attacks, and my movement was becoming slow as I could feel my strength dissipating. He attempted to punch my chest but I was quick to notice his movement as I put my
Livia's POV: Pregnancy was not easy. That I realized as my stomach grew and I became more and more worried. I worried about all the things that could go wrong during childbirth. I did not want to die, I wanted to be there for my child. Besides the worry and fear, there were my moodswings. I had to say that Lucius was very patient with me and I felt bad for him sometimes. I even felt bad for Ylva and Lydia who had to endure my outbursts. Adrian followed me everywhere as Lucius made him my personal guard and once in a while I would yell at him as well. Sometimes because I just wanted to and sometimes for no reason at all. Well, that's what happens when you don't get enough sleep because your stomach is in the way, when you constantly feel hungry and when everything feels uncomfortable. “Lydia, Ylva I do want you to work for me anymore. Bring someone that I won't feel bad yelling at. Like that maid Jessica or anyone I don't like.” I said feeling really bad for my moodswings. “No My
Lucius' POV: “Good morning.” She smiled while tucked under the sheets. “Good morning,” I said, turning so that I lay facing her. “Aren't you late? It's almost lunchtime.” She said. I groaned, not wanting to think of anything else but laying in bed with my mate. “I don't want to leave.” I admitted, reaching for her under the sheets. She was still naked. Good Lord. I wanted to touch her all over again as I remembered her bare body. I always thought she looked beautiful but now she was exquisite. She was fuller, more radiant and alive. She was ravishing. “Not again, Lucius.” She beamed at me. I was touching her under the sheets, enjoying the feel of her. “Why not?” “Because I need to be able to walk.” “Oh, but I would rather have you in bed all day.” I joked. Although it was partly true. “You never get enough, do you?” she shook her head at me. If only she knew. I thought. Livia sat up on the bed and then swung her legs down. “Oh God! She groaned, startled. “What?” “Nothin
Livia's POV: Lucius stiffened and the room went quiet. I could hear my own heart race and it felt like forever before he said, “what did you say?” “I said you will become a father soon,” I told him a bit louder and with more confidence. Slowly, Lucius took a few steps back and then turned away. Oh, God! He was not happy. Hopping down from the table I went to him. I put my hand lightly on his shoulder. “I understand if you are not happy.” Never having a relationship with his parents and what he went through growing up, could explain his reaction. “Happy?” He turned to me carefully and grabbed my arms. “I am not happy Livia. I am lucky. You make me the luckiest man on earth even if I don't deserve it.” I could see a mix of emotions in his eyes. Happiness, sadness and worry. “You deserve every bit of it,” I assured. “And you would be an amazing father.” His hands slid up to my face, holding it gently. “Livia, you are a blessing in my cursed existence.” I didn't know whether to
Livia's POV: When I woke up I'm the morning Lucius was already gone. I scolded myself for not telling him I was pregnant. I knew I was worrying for nothing and that the news would probably make him very happy. After getting dressed I decided to look for him immediately. I went straight to Lucius' office, there I saw him engrossed in the papers in his hands. I cleared my throat to capture his attention. Lucius put the papers down on the table and stood up before looking at me. “Did you already miss me, wife?” He smiled. “Am I disturbing you?” I asked walking over to him. “No, bit you are distracting me much.” He said letting his gaze rake my body. I did nothing to prepare myself so that he found me distracting despite everything, made me confident. Lucius tilted his head to one side and studied me even more closely. “Did you gain some weight?” He asked and my confidence went out the window. “I am not sure,” I mumbled. “You look…” his eyes darkened. I knew that gaze and it brou
Livia's POV: I am pregnant, I am pregnant, I am pregnant. I kept chanting those words to myself everyday. I could still not believe it. How do I tell Lucius? It haven't even been up to two weeks since the incidence that claimed his life, would he be happy to have a child in this mess? He had never said anything about wanting to have a child ever which made me a bit concerned. Somehow I felt that he wouldn't be thrilled. I tried to imagine his reaction in my head several times but I couldn't figure out what his expression would be like. “Ylva… I am pregnant,” I told her as she prepared me for the night. Ylva stared at me through the mirror. Her eyes twinkled with both surprise and happiness. “My Lady…!” She exclaimed after she opened her mouth several times but was not able to say anything. “Can… I hug you… once?” I blinked a few times in surprise. I and Ylva had been very close, closer than with Lydia it she had never asked for a hug before. The only time she hugged me was when
Livia’s POV: I felt as though a storm had struck me. My whole emotions was in a mess. The heartbeat that I heard against my ears were crisp and loud. The urge to press my ears deeper to his chest grew in me, wanting to make sure I wasn't wrong and my ears hadn't lied to me. I didn't want this to be a dream or the sweet illusion that had been repeating in my subconsciousness. When his voice slipped to my ears in the most sweetest way, once again a wave of emotions washed my entire heart. My tears filled the rim of my eyes and tears slowly dribbled uncontrollably from my eyes. I slowly lifted my chin up, looking around to feel his hand around me before my emerald eyes finally met with Lucius' deep red ones. “I'm sorry, did I make you wait for long?” He asked as though he hadn't died, as though I hadn't killed him and as though it has only been an hour of our separation, when it had been more than 12 hours. 12 hours might be a mere few hours to others, but not to me who bore the guil
Livia's POV: My emerald eyes turned wider, glint of red appeared on my eyes that the serpent didn't miss. Reaching out my hand, I tried to manifest Elise when the serpent began to shake its body, causing large ripples and waves to tower over me. I looked at the upcoming waves as it was about to devour me hungrily. The waves spread wide like a mountain, wanting to eat me alive. My eyes flared brighter with hint of redness as I raised my hand out of impulse and was surprisingly able to create a barrier wide enough to cover the boat from being consumed by the waves. While I was surprised that I still haven't discovered all what I could do with my abilities, I wanted to breathe out in relief, I realized it wasn't the end as the serpent had quickly arrived behind me, rushing towards me. I clicked my tongue, pushing myself on the other end of the boat and ducked down as the serpent was about to take a taste bite on me. During the fight, the creature didn't help me. Instead he continued t
Livia's POV: A single boat coasted towards the shore, at the side where I stood. On the end of the boat was a creature who was cloaked in black. Its body was shorter than mine as his back was hunched forward. From underneath his cloak, his black bones hands held the wooden paddle on his hand. Though his eyes was covered, I could feel it moving towards me as if he knew I needed to cross this deadly river. “You… are coming to the boat?” The hoarse voice of the creature was shrilling and there was a delay in his first words as if his tongue was having a difficulty on speaking quickly. I nodded my head before putting my feet on the surface of the boat. As I went onboard, the creature looked at me. No words exchanged, but I could see his displeasure, “Soul… give me.” “I won't be fully crossing the sea to the abyss,” I answered, “And only crossing the sea to the abyss would I need to pay, don't I?” The creature huffed to show his annoyance but he didn't reply as I was correct. While cr
Livia's POV: In the forest of the Crescent Pack, the place where I had found my Mate and my peace, a place which I had considered a safe haven now haunted me with memories of I and Lucius. I felt empty as a part of me now became lost, Elise, my wolf had been quiet and hadn't let out a sound since the minute Lucius gave out his last breath. I had prevented Adrain from coming along in order for me to gain full concentration. I was certain that no matter how narrow my chances were of seeing Lucius again, it would be enough for me to bring him back to life. I went deep into the forest till I hit to the spot where the old oak tree was planted. I couldn't remember the last time since I came to this part of the forest. The oak tree which stood in front of me now which I had named ‘grandma’ was my solace and healing place when I had no one, but Lucius came along and he became more than just a safe haven for me, he became my paradise and I planned spending every moment of my life in his embr
