Chapter 1

Somewhere inside the mansion of Davis Mansion, two women are talking about something while they stay near the staircase of the main house. There was nobody around them to witness what will happen next nor to hear what they are talking about.

"You know what Mari, Liam never loves you. He is only taking responsibility for you since he got you pregnant. Auntie and Uncle are just pretending to be nice to you so I think it is time for you to wake up and stop being so delusional of having what is mine" said the blond hair lady named Elizabeth.

"Whether Liam is lying to me or not, I will be the one to decide what I will do. Also, I know how to tell if a person is pretending to be nice to me or not, and as far as I know, both Auntie and Uncle truly like me for their son. Plus I am carrying in my womb their grandchild so how is it that they don't like me? I think it is you who is being delusional Ms. Elizabeth since Liam did mention to me that he never had feelings towards you." Said Mari the black hair pregnant lady. She is now in her fourth month of pregnancy with Liam's child. Mari knew that what Liam is feeling towards her was genuine and real. He made her feel so much love that he even proposes to her for marriage. But then again the person in front of her was the woman who likes him ever since their childhood days. Their mothers have been very good friends and even plan to pair the two but Liam rejected the idea telling his mother that he wanted to marry the woman he loves the most and that is not Elizabeth.

"How dare you say that! Liam is mine ever since we were kids! You are just excess baggage to his life! So I think you should get lost!" Elizabeth was aware that Liam never loved her since when Liam told his mother that he wants to marry the woman that he loves rather than to have them marry each other. It was like a knife that pierced her heart when those words were spoken by the man she loves the most.

"Liam will never love you even if I am gone! He loves me and our child! He said that I will be the only woman who will carry his child!"

"HAHAHAHA!!! And you believe it?! Let me tell you something, do you remember the time when Liam did not go home to you after my birthday party. He was with me that time, we were together the whole night. He kept on making love to me until I am so full inside. The result of that night is this, my pregnancy Mari. I am pregnant with Liam's child! So he doesn't need you anymore! I will give him a son that he will love the most. He doesn't need a woman who's not on the same level as him so I think you need to get out of the picture of my happy family" Elizabeth showed to Mari the pregnancy test that she had in her pocket while she caresses her belly. Letting the other woman know that she is a month pregnant already. While Mari was looking at the paper, Elizabeth pushes her to the stairs. Mari couldn't react sooner as she was pushed down the stairs. She is pregnant and her rolling down the stairs of the second floor until the ground would make her lose her baby or even her life. When her body reaches the bottom of the stairs, her whole body is already covered with blood from her forehead until to her feet. Her head hit a lot of times in those stairs while her bulging belly wasn't able to take the impact.

"Y-You…" Mari couldn't call out for help nor say anything to Elizabeth who came down as well. She is losing too much blood already and she is having a miscarriage making her lose her baby.

"*giggle* now let me tell you a little secret before you die. Nina planned everything to get Dennis from you so I too did everything to get my Liam back in my arms. Oh! Just so you know, Nina and I are best of friends like how Dennis and Liam are best friends. You are the third wheel in this whole situation so just die, will you? I will take care of Liam and we will have a happy family" Elizabeth happily revealed the reason how Nina got Mari's ex-boyfriend from her.

"Now then, Let the show begin. MARI!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! MARI FELL DOWN THE STAIRS!" Elizabeth started shouting for help, Mari is still conscious but barely able to move. The whole family of Liam and the other guest went in the direction of Elizabeth's voice. Liam rushes towards Mari and shouted to the servant to call an ambulance.

"Baby, It's going to be alright, hold on ok? The ambulance is coming." Liam doesn't know what to do seeing his love lying on the floor filled with so much blood.

"Elizabeth, what happened here?" asked Mother Davis who is very concerned about the current situation of her future daughter-in-law. It was evident to all of them that seeing so much blood will result in miscarriage.

"Auntie, Mari, and I are just talking upstairs until I told her that I am pregnant with Liam's child. S-she said that she hates it that she is pregnant with his child that is why she threw herself down the stairs and… I…I'm sorry I wasn't able to stop her. *sob*sob*" Elizabeth started her act while she tells them the lies of what didn't happen. Mari wanted to refute but she is too weak to talk.

"WHAT?! YOU'RE PREGNANT WITH LIAM"S?! LIAM! TELL ME IS THAT TRUE?!" mother Davis was shock and angry as well when she heard it. Yes, she wants to have a lot of grandchildren and yes, she did once want Liam and Elizabeth to be together but she loves Mari and she knew that her son loves Mari as well that is why she can't believe what she just heard from Elizabeth.

"Th-That...I'm so sorry baby…I...Yes, It's true mom. Elizabeth is pregnant with my child." Liam told them the truth and that hurt Mari even more. She lost her child because of that woman and now that she heard it from the man who claims to love her so much, pains her heart even more. Her tears continue to fall as her eyes slowly closes. She only wanted to have a peaceful life with Liam but then hearing him say that he did make Elizabeth pregnant is too much for her to bear.

"NO! NO! NOOOO!!!!!!" she shouted so loud when she saw the darkness filled her whole space. She died in front of the woman who took her man, she died in the arms of the man who promise to love only her, she died not being able to tell anybody that what they heard was a lie, she died with everything taken from her.

*AT PRESENT TIME*

"NOOOO!!!!" Mari shouted as she was woken up by her friend who is beside her. They are inside the airplane where she fell asleep during the flight.

"Mari, are you alright? It's just a nightmare girl" said Jessa her friend who got shocked when she heard her sleeping friend shouting with the word 'No'

"I…I"

"Ma'am, are you alright? Do you want some water?" said one of the stewardesses who rushes towards them with a glass of water in her hand. Everyone in the plane was either sleeping or just resting in their designated sits when suddenly they heard a loud voice shouting. They were all shock and woken up, they all thought that something happened. A few more stewardesses came near Mari and Jessa's seats, wanting to check on the passenger who disturbed the quiet plane.

"Jess…I…" Mari seems to be having a bit of difficulty in breathing at that moment which made one of the stewardesses go to the front to call for any passenger who is a doctor. Luckily there is one doctor on the plane, he went to the chair of Mari where Jessa gave way to him to let him look at her friend.

"Ok ma'am, I need you to relax for a bit, do you have any paper bag or something? She is hyperventilating right now." Said the doctor who is examining Mari. One of the stewardesses got one paper bag from their place and gave it to the doctor. The doctor instructed Mari to breathe on the bag slowly, which the other did so.

"that's right, slowly…slowly inhale…exhale. Are feeling better?" asked the doctor who got a nod from Mari.

"Is she alright doc.?" Asked Jessa who is very concerned about her friend. It was her first time seeing Mari like that and the worst is that she doesn't know what to do.

"Yes, she's fine now. Ma'am, may I ask your name, if that is alright?"

"I'm Mari Sanchez, thank you for helping me doc." Said Mari, she was finally able to speak after calming down.

"Hi, nice to meet you, Ms. Mari. My name is Dr. Nathan Brown, you can just call me Dr. Nathan if you want. Anyway, can I know what happened here?"

"that…Mari was just sleeping beside me and then she suddenly shouted so loud that I think everyone in this plane woke up." Answered Jessa to the good-looking doctor in front of her. After seeing her friend doing fine, she finally noticed that the man who is sitting on her chair and examining Mari was so good-looking, it is not too much to say that he is so handsome.

"I see, then Ms. Mari what happened? Did you have a terrifying nightmare?"

"I…I think so, I don't remember what it is thou but I think it is so terrifying that I wasn't able to breathe. Oh! Ms. Stewardess I would like to apologize to everyone that I have disturbed their rest." Mari knew that whatever it is that she had dreamed about was not nice. When she heard what Jessa said about waking up other passengers of the plane, she wanted to apologize thus she apologizes to the stewardess and even asked if she could apologize to all of the passengers.

"It's alright if you can't remember it, I think it is better not to remember it if that is how you react to it. Anyway just rest here and I will apologize to everyone on your behalf. Ok?" Dr. Nathan stood up as he said those to Mari. He is a doctor, after all, he wants his patient to rest rather than stress herself out just because she causes a small commotion. He left the area with the stewardess who directed him to the phone that can also serve as an announcement tool inside the plane. He announces what happened and told everyone that his patient was very apologetic towards everyone that she had disturbed.

The flight took a few more hours before it reaches the air space of Country A, the place where Mari and Jessa will be staying from that moment on. The two are going to that country for their culinary trainingship. They both will work in the same city but not in the same restaurant. Mari will be working under a fine dining restaurant named 'LOIS', which is located at the very heart of city S. while Jessa will be working at a casual dining restaurant called 'SHAFT ROCK' that is located a little far from 'LOIS'. They've decided to live together in one apartment that is in between their workplace. They were so lucky that their agency helped them look for a place to live. They already informed them that they will be arriving in the country late at night, the two expected to be picked up by someone from the agency since they have asked them to arrange someone to pick them up. It is both their first time visiting that country and now it will be their home for the whole year or more.
