Daniel shook his head in disagreement, "Yes you did, over the phone with your Mom last night, you told her you were going to visit them today and I insisted that I'd love to go with you." He explained, gesturing with his hand.

Laura instantly remembered being on the phone with Harold when Daniel approached, forcing her to feign a conversation with her mother. The realization struck her like a thunderbolt. "Oh my, that's right, it slipped my mind," Laura responded with a nod.

With no other option, she went along with the act, yet she attempted to dissuade Daniel from joining her, knowing full well her real motive was to meet Harold.
