Regret.

Regret was what that overtook her.

Her heart was pounding hard with guilt.

What has she done?

The peace which she had been seeking after finishing her revenge game was not there. She thought she would be happy, content that the woman because of whom her ex-husband left her was now at the death bed, battling with life. After two suicide attempts.

And the remnants of peace she had, went into drain when she came to know of the crystal clear truth. The ugly truth which jabbed at her heart, that she wanted to die with the pain.

She looked at her hands.

There was blood on it.

A blood of a human life.

She was pregnant.

Healing. She was healing. Healing from the trauma she had been given. What she was made to go through. The trauma Shehryaar had given to her, now he himself was healing her. Giving her a new life. Reviving the perception of life she carried with her in her past self, when she was truly her own self. Those potent feelings which she had re-evolved. That paranoia diminishing. Yet. The fear. The fear of him was still there. The decision of not living with him was still there. The words she had sworn to herself while taking her own life, that if God gave her another life then she will definitely take a stand for her and not live with Shehryaar. Those words made her to work fast on her plans. She will escape. Definitely escape from him. Will not rest until she is out from his captivity. Her revived self told her that the consent out of her was forced. And she could not remain bonded in a forced marriage for the rest of her life. And these were the last days she was

Pitch darkness. All that could be seen, and felt was darkness. The only light was the moonlight coming from a small corner high up the wall with bars installed. Shehryaar felt a lingering pain in the nape of his neck. The place smelled of bloodshed and gore. He was well aware of that putrid smell of blood. Many times, he had taken lives of shivering souls in a similar environment. He found himself tied to a wooden chair with ropes and chains all over him like a precocious animal caught. His mind and eyes foggy. Unable to process anything. And all he was able to remember and recall were those intimate moments with Shearzaad. While she was no where to be seen. He couldn't decipher who had the audacity to put him in this stingy cell. His mind now running thousand miles per hour. The thoughts of him and his wife popping in front of his eyes. And slowly the memories began to sunk in further. The kiss she had placed on his lips, uttering her goodbyes. That knife jabbed in his ar

Three months laterMonths. It has been months.Irtaza has been trying to locate his brother but he couldn't.The family was too desperate.Their final hope was Irtaza. The tracker has been taken out of Shehryaar's body. Even he was not able to find Sheharzaad. Yet he was aware where she was.But he didn't loose hope.He was just waiting for the right moment.Rather the right call. And the call came, while he was sleeping with his little wife, Zahra snoring on his bare chest. As soon as the screen flashed with an unknown number, careful enough not to wake Zahra up, he got up and left the room. Getting to the balcony of his room, he lit up his cigarette first as the bell was still ringing. He did not pick up the call. Rather he cut it and dialed another number.Giving instructions to the person, he placed his phone on the railing of the balcony, he fixed the stick between his lips, and waited for the caller to call again. He smirked. As his phone began to ring again."What took you

5 YEARS LATER (5 years to when zaad left sherry) The soft chirps of vibrant birds made gentle sigh leave her lips. Straightening her back against the wooden bench, Sheherzaad angled her neck to look around and embrace the solace, solitude provided her. Lush green fields waved joyously,I singing a windy lullaby of their own. Sheherzaad smiled; it felt freshening. It had been half a decade, yet any subtle joy would bring her back to dreadful memories, making her realize how precious liberty was. She, now, would try to intake actual joy of freedom in real sense. Because she once had paid a dreadful price for that. For thing, you had to pay for in past, suddenly becomes available to you free of cost, is bound to burst bubbles of happiness and gratitude. Who could understand that better than Sheherzaad... She still had scars, but now she had stopped fearing them. They were proof of her strength, of how much she endured, and of how far she had come. To put that vicious year of life behind,

She stayed inside the kitchen until Shehryar walked out to the store room allotted to him. Again, she tried to change their minds but they were stereotypically stubborn for their ages. Shehryar was watering the plants while Raseeda was staring at him with thoughtful eyes. Just as Sherhzaad appeared in the garden holding Chahat in her arms, Raseedha addressed Shehryar."Has the thought of marriage never occurred to your mind?"Shehryar gazed at Sherhzaad who stilled at Rasheeda's words but played ignorant as she combed Chahat's hair.He lowered his ashamed gaze. Not know what to answer, he repeated his mantra. "Who would give their daughter's hand in mine? You know my reality. I am gareeb, maskeen, becha-""Bechara, hn hn." Rasheeda scoffed. "But you had to have girls throwing themselves at you. I mean look at you." Both of them slept in separated rooms. It was Sheharzaad's demand. She did not want to go to the haveli because of the memories associated with that place. She was aware that if she stepped ahead and went there then it would rejuvenate the trauma she felt in those days. The lonliness and aloofness. The only person she wanted to meet was Shehryaar's father, Haider. And she did meet him when he came to their mansion in Islamabad in which they both were now staying. She had hugged him as if she would hug her father and felt tears gushing down her eyes. The evening sky has sprawled. The blue hue was everywhere as the bird chirped, returning back to their respective abodes. Tears were slipping down their eyes. The whole study has turned upside down. The glass table, smashed and broken. Books from the bookshelf were torned and rested on the floor.
