Caelen's POV

I loved watching her sleep.

She looked like an angel. An innocent, peaceful angel.

Her soft snores filled the room, and I found it relaxing, as strange as it is to admit.

I don't know how long I spend staring at her, but I don't care. Something in me twists whenever I remember she is Roman's mate. The feeling made me want to go ballistic.

Emotions—I can't let it get to me. I am the calm and collected one. I can't be seen acting impulsive and irrational like the others.

But Meredith, oh Meredith.

She brought out a side of me I didn't even know existed.

I need to keep my distance from her. But how practical was that, especially at a time like this? Saul was constantly frolicking around with his mate, and Roman had been disappearing a lot more than usual.

I am the only one constantly by her side. Take this morning, for instance; she most likely spent the entire night crying without anyone to comfort her.

I am going to rip Roman's throat out.
