It had been a week since the Alpha had made the announcement to merge two packs after the attack from the rogues had come.
Since then Delilah had done her best to remind as small and as insignificant as possible.Keeping only to herself she didn't engage in a conversation with anyone neither did she tell anyone that secretly deep down she wanted to become a Luna.If anyone from the pack heard that from her mouth or she even showed an inclination towards it she was sure she would be chained and dropped somewhere she wouldn't be able to see the ceremony.Delilah didn't want that. She wanted to witness everything from beginning to end.Today the pack was alive with bustling sounds of preparation. In many ways than one Delilah was thankful for the ceremony at least. Kate had gotten off her neck. She and her bully gang pretended as though she didn't exist and Delilah did the same for them too.It wasn't even difficult. She'd been doing it for as long as she could remember. That morning while everyone was fretting with excitement and Kate was practically yelling she was going to become the next Luna because she was the Alpha's daughter, Delilah dragged herself away from the settlement to her favourite position.Even though sometimes she liked to pretend that what the lack was doing to her didn't hurt and she was used to it she knew deep down it was a lie.Every single action stung. From Kate's bullying down to the dirty looks some of the pack members would throw her when she crossed them. She didn't mind the look or Kate's physical abuse. She was more hurt by the words.Words were like a bullet and if discharged properly had the capacity to do damage. That was what the pack's words did to her every time someone insulted her or threw a shady remark at her.The words damaged her.Maybe the pack didn't know she was human, maybe all they saw was a vessel that had no wolf.Having no wolf automatically ruled her out from being a normal human with emotions and feelings.Delilah sighed as she picked up a pebble from the ground and threw it into the water watching as it disappeared underneath with a soft plop. She had never known love and she yearned for it, craved it even.Sometimes Delilah liked to watch mates of her pack in secrecy. Watched as the man held the woman against his arms, the woman face content and happy leaving against him.Watched as they kissed.Amelia put a hand to her mouth. She had never been kissed before, she wondered how it would feel.Lip against lip and…"Hey freak."Amelia was jolted from her day dream harshly. She didn't dare turn back. She knew who had uttered those words. At that moment all Delilah wanted to do was become small and insignificant again.Delilah didn't answer; she just kept her shoulders squared praying that her bully would go.Was it too hard to ask for some peace and quiet?Suddenly a hard grabbed her roughly from the shoulders twisting her so that she turned to face her bully. One of the perks of having no wolf was the fact she didn't even know when an attack was coming up on her."I'm talking to you, freak, you've gone deaf or something.""I'm sorry I didn't hear you. I apologize.""That's not enough, freak. Beg."It always irritated Delilah how Kate would never call her name and instead replaced it with freak.Delilah was in no mood to beg let alone entertain any of Kate's bullying. All she wanted this morning was to daydream and now Kaye was taking evem that away from her. When Delilah made no attempt to grovel Kate stepped up in front of her her face twisted in an ugly grimace."I said beg freak."Kate was alone and for a fleeting second Delilah thought about punching her but two things prevented her.Hee goons will be coming back to exact revenge and Kate had a wolf, she wouldn't let a punch go scott free.Delilah stood up from the boulder she was sitting on and dropped to her knees her expression that of a humble supplicant."I'm sorry Kate, is that better kr do you want me to kiss your feet?""Is that sarcasm I sense?" Kate asked, arching her eyebrows."No, I apologize.""Good keep kneeling."Delilah felt spite flood into her body bit she bit her tongue and kept her reaction in check."Are you by any chance daydreaming of being a Luna."Delilah suddenly flinched. How had she known. If Kaye had mentioned this to any other person and somehow it got to the Alpha then she was royally screwed."I'm not I swear" Delilah said meekly.Kate referred her suddenly her bessny black eyes boring into hers and Delilah was forced to look away. She had to appease Kate. Act humble as possible."Don't decieve yourself though, there is no way you're going to become the Luna of any pack let alone have a mate. As far as I'm concerned you're just the little runt in this pack. One good thing she had picked up after years of Kate's bullying was the ability to keep her expression neutral.Yet it didn't mean what Kaye said didn't have any effect on her. It has sliced like a sharp knife."Are you aware if this fact freak.""I am." Delilah nodded."Good the sooner that sinks in the better.""It has already."Kate kicked at her and Delilah lost her balance falling to the ground."Bullying you today has lost its fun" Kaye said walking off her head held high.Delilah picked herself up from the ground dusting the sand and leaves off hee cloth.Kate's physical abuse was normal to her and she would never she'd a tear because of it.But it affected her emotionally. No matter how much she put a wall there the words somehow seemed to penetrate her emotional defences.Sitting back on the boulder that faced the small lake she gazed out at the water. There was a sharp pain in her eyes ans she felt it well up with oncoming tears.Delilah wiped it off. She promised herself to never cry no matter what Kate or another pack wolf did to her.Don't decieve yourself though, there is no way you're going to become the Luna of any pack let alone have a mate. As far as I'm concerned you're just the little runt in this pack. Those words hurt so bad that for a brief moment she felt her chest tightening. Delilah exhaled, calming herself down. She had to prepare herself for the Silver Moon Pack's arrival. That as if no one chased her out when the time came.Looking up to the sky Delilah wished it will be alright. That everything would be fine and she would finally fall in love and would have a mate.Yes, one day everything was going to be fine. When dusk came her pack was ready to receive the Silver Moon pack. The excitement in the settlement had gotten more and more tense and everywhere she passed girls were gossiping about becoming a Luna or hopefully still finding a mate.Delilah couldn't be a part of that conversation so she kept to herself most of the day.Now it was time to receive the Silver Moon Pack.In the center of the settlement a platform had been erected and on this platform was three chairs.Alpha Dean, Luna Jay and Brat Kate.In her eyes she would never regard Kate as the daughter of an Alpha. She didn't possess any single quality it took to be the daughter of an Alpha.Deliah stood a bit farther from the pack seated on a log of wood that had been carved to the shape of a small stool. The rest of the pack was closer to the platform. Delilah wasn't one of them, she was perfectly comfortable where she sat.The air was tense with excitement Delilah could feel it. When she turned her eyes to look at the Alpha Dean he looked calm and collected like he knew how all this would play out.Kate on her own part was even quiet, her face twisted into some sort of expression she couldn't discern.Deliah almost laughed if not she herself was having fantasies of her own.As she watched from her position Ben, one of the pack Betas, suddenly approached Ross from the right of the platform and passed him a paper.Dean took it and quickly read the contents. When he was done he folded it back and addressed the pack."Unfortunately the Alpha cannot be here due to some unforeseen circumstances but in his place he has sent his trusted Beta's. Whoever is chosen as the Luna today will be taken to the pack by his Beta's."When Dean was done speaking he motioned his hands to his left and Amelia turned to look in that direction.Out from the shadows stepped three men and her breath caught In her throat. It was the most delicious sight she had ever seen. The three of them were dressed in black suits every inch of the fabric perfectly outlining the hulking frame of ther bodies. The one who was leading the group was wearing dark sunglasses so she could see much of his features. The other two were clean shaven with strong structured jawline.Delilah felt something tingle within her and she suddenly pressed her legs together. What was this feeling? The three of them stepped onto the platform and stood in front of Alpha Dean who took his seat with a satisfied look on his face. The pack was silent, every single eye fixed on the three men.It wasn't as if her pack didn't have men as big as them or even bigger but there was something about these three men that made them visually appealing. The one wearing sunglasses took off his glasses and faced the pack, his gray eyes sweeping around them."My name is Adam and a week ago your Alpha showed interest in merging Blue Moon pack and Silver Moon pack together as a result of the rogue problems this pack has been facing."Delilah wasn't sure she hadn't imagined it or heard something else but it felt like Adam had said the word rogue with hate."In order to solidify this alliance we will be picking one of you from this pack as a suitable Luna for our Alpha."Delilah could feel her heart beat a little faster as she drank in the man's words."In order for us to do this we will be using the Moon crown."There was an excited murmur from the pack and Delilah couldn't blame them. Her heart beat even faster now. The moon crown was an old artifact blessed by the Moon Goddess that was capable of single handedly picking out a female who it deemed worthy for the position of a Luna.Adam gave a nod of his head and there one of the clean shaven Beta's to his right opened a briefcase which she had just noticed only now.Out of it he pulled out a cream colored crown that had a glowing red jewel in the center.Adam lifted it above his head and suddenly it began glowing from a dull red to a bright red.It was beautiful, captivating her in awe."Bless this process Goddess and find us the chosen Luna."The glowing intensified and Delilah closed her eyes against the harshness of the glow. She opened her eyes when there was a soft caress on her forehead.Directly in front of her was the Moon crown hovering slightly in the air. As she watched it floated up, settling itself comfortably above her head.Oh God was she truly the Luna. It couldn't be happening.Delilah couldn't believe what had just happened. I must be dreaming. This cannot be true. But the cold edge of the crown pressed into her head reminding her that it was indeed reality. The whole pack had turned to look at her and at that moment Delilah iust wanted the ground to open up and swallow her.But the ground didn't and she was left sitting down there looking back at the pack watching the different sets of expressions etched on ýtheir faces."The one who has the crown please step forth" Adams voice broke through her reverie.Delilah wasn't sure she could do this. She had been daydreaming about what it must have felt to be a Luna but now she suddenly had the moon crown on her head and she was backing out.The pack continued to stare at her watching her every single move as she dragged herself up from where she sat and slowly made her way to the platform.Adam stood smiling on the platform as she walked over to it, everything suddenly feeling like a dream. She climbed it with t
"Scotch on the rocks please.""One glass of scotch on the rocks coming up" Kai said, throwing the older man a wide smile. He made his way over to the bar stand and made the required drink as effortlessly as he had come countless times since he started in the Vermont bar.Kai had never imagined himself being a bartender but in the end no one knew how life was going to turn out if them.He liked his job, all he had to do was make people drunk with alcohol. He didn't have to interfere, just pour a drink and let the alcohol handle the rest.Every now and then there was the occasional shuffle which he handled with the help of his werewolf strength easily.Asides that he didn't see much if a hassle in being a bartender. He wouldn't exactly say the pay was grand but his lifestyle wasn't exactly grand so he could live with it.Every now and then he caught the occasional whiff of the scent of a wolf and he went into instant alert. After what happened to him three years ago Kai had picked up a
Delilah stood uncomfortably close to the outskirts of the settlement. She was holding just a small bag and her eyes were fixed to the ground in an attempt not to cry.So far the tears hadn't come yet and that was okay. She was okay for now.Her pack had just sold her off to another pack like a common animal and even though she should have seen it coming it still hurt.Still hurt like a bitch.Delilah adjusted the small bag in her hands and made her way over to the van that was standing on the highway.Kate hadn't arrived yet with the other Betas as her father was giving her instructions and her group were teary eyed fawning over her.Delilah decided she would use the time to herself, maybe look at the sky or something. It was better than standing awkwardly in the corner while Kate the bully was being blessed. The moon goddess hadn't even chose her and yet here was Kate taking what rightfully belonged to her.It was a sum of the pitiful existence of her life. Everything and anything s
The first thing that hit him as soon as he opened his eyes was the foul stench that greeted his nose.Kai tried to move his hands and failed. He'd been tied, he could tell by the ropes that were cutting into his skin. No, not ropes. He had been chained. As he moved his hands around the heavy metal that had been used to pin the both of his hands a sharp pain suddenly built in his body.He remembered at once. He'd been shit twice; one on the stomach and another on the shoulder.Kai winced at the pain in his shoulder and he tried to tug against the chains. The bullets that had been used to shoot him weren't ordinary bullets. They had been dipped in wolfsbane. For now it was temporarily stopping his powers from activating and healing his wounds. He needed to get the two bullets out of his system at once if he stood a chance of escaping from this place.Kai sniffed the air around him and wrinkled his nose. His face had been covered with a dirty sack bag. That was the least of his problem
Delilah opened her eyes to string rays of sunlight streaming through her face. The trip to the Silver Moon Pack had left her exhausted yesterday. She was preerty much knocked out as soon as she hit the bed. Turning to her aude she made out the contours of Kate who was lying close to her, her black hair matted around her face. They both if them hadn't even argued last night. They fell asleep straight away. The room they had been out it was modern with a sift decor.Shutter windows, polished hardwood ground and a four poster bed big enough to contain four people.Allowing her self to linger a little bit on the bed Delilah turned her face to the ceiling of the room. Unsurprisingly it had no stain or cracks running through it. The Silver Moon Pack was wallowing in riches.Different from her pack.Delilah listened to the faint snores of Kate because her before getting up from the bed.She padded around the bed over to the window and peered outside. The signs that met her was breath taking.
Those words felt like a slap had just landed on her face grazing her ears.Delilah blinked stupidly looking at Liam as the Alpha watched her closely."Is there a problem" he asked his voice low and soft almost as if he was pitying her.Delilah opened her mouth to speak, to tell the truth. She was his mate, not Kate. She caught Adam's eyes from where he stood and her mouth sealed shut. His eyes were glowing amber, a slight warning that if she tried anyhting funny or said anything she would regret it."Is there a problem? Liam asked again and this tome around Delilah could feel the cold creeping into his voice. He wasn't the type of person who liked to ask questions twice."No your Alpha '' Delilah said, bowing her head as tears prickled at the corner of her eyes."Good, My Beta Adam will tell.you your duties as my mates servant. I trust you would do well."Delilah felt her chest tightening. Once again love had been stripped away from her, once again something that rightfully belonged t
With a jerk Kai sat up in bed, his breath leaving his mouth in gasps of fear. He looked around him. His eyes darted wildly around the space he was in. He only calmed down as soon as he found out it was just his room. Fuck. Kai rubbed at his face as he tried to get his breathing under control. The dreams had started again. Like something that was returning from the pits of hell. Ever since his encounter with Rudolf they had returned slowly at first but this night was the most violent of them all. He took a deep breath and moved over to the edge of the bed, rubbing his temple slowly in semi circles. Three years. That amount of time should have been enough for him to put the past behind him. Yet the reverse was the case. It was apparent now that he hadn't forgotten any of the demons that plagued him. The dream was always the same. He was in the woods, as a human and he was being hunted. Not by humans like him but by wolves and in that dream he had recognised one of the wolves.
"I heard you don't have a wolf?" It was sometime around seven in the morning. Kate had sent Delilah to the kitchen to make her a cup of coffee. Adam had made sure she tended to Kate as per the Alpha's order for her to become Kate's servant. Delilah didn't want to waste time arguing or resisting. Adam made it clear what would happen if she resisted him or started arguments. Delilah knew Adam was one of those dangerous wolves and she wasn't about to get on his bad side yet. She wanted to study the pack know her friends and her foes but it wasn't as easy as she thought it was going to be. Someone had told half the pack members that she didn't have a wolf and it was preventing her from making any real freinship. That morning the Alpha had been on her mind. Last night at the dungeon wasn't going to get out of her head in a hurry. It was living there rent free. His smell, the proximity of him to her and the way her body responded when he had whispered in her ear. Delilah hadn't be
Dean knew something was different the moment he opened his eyes that morning. He was like that; sometimes he could know what would happen even before it would happen or after it happened. His outstretched arms were draped on the bed and from the empty space there and the way that the bed sheet still seemed perfectly arranged he knew instantly that his wife hadn’t slept there.Dean wasn’t surprised, shortly after the news about Kate’s death reached her he had started to notice some changes in Jean. For one he was suddenly withdrawn as through the death of her child had opened to her eyes the possibilities that she hadn’t seen before. But the most funny part of it all was the scent he got off her sometimes. It was the scent of sex and another wolf. Jean was sleeping out he knew and the fact that she thought she could sleep with a wolf in their pack here and climb into his bed after she had done the evil deed brought a wide grin across his face. There was nothing that pleased him more th
Delilah moved through the room quickly. Grated it wasn't her room hit she needed to take some clothes lest she got naked as she went on the search for a place to stay. As she opened the closet where there was a few clothes she asked herself why she suddenly turned around and returned to this room. Her original plan had been to leave as soon as she saw Kai had killed Liam but in the end she count follow through with her plan. She was almost halfway away from the pack when she simply turned around and returned. Maybe it was this longing to see Kai one last time that had driven her back to the Healer pack. Whatever it was she couldn't tell and now as she paced the small room trying to gather her thoughts, she w
The feeling that went through Delilah when she shifted for the first time was like a dash of dopamine. She wanted more and more and more of the electric feeling that was running through her body.If there was anybody who had ever told her that it would hurt then right there and then she would have called the person a fool. Shifting for the first time for her had come as a dopamine rush.Shifting hadn’t hurt one bit, it had come to her so smoothly that she barely had time to notice the changes that were taking place within her body. One minute she had been standing calling ion her wolf and the next minute Lilah had taken over completely. The power flooding through her at that moment was enormous, she felt invincible, she felt like her enemies would die with a single sweep of her mighty paws and she could crush bones with a snap of her jaws. Her hearing, her sight, her smell were all enhanced and her wolf at that moment was screaming for one
Delilah stood behind the gathered pack, keeping her distance as Kai climbed to a makeshift platform the pack had erected for him to be able to give his speech today. She watched him as he walked the short way to the platform and stood gazing down at the crowd. As he stood there, Delilah felt affection for him course through her. The both of them had come a long way fought through a lot of hair and both of them had come out victorious. On the platform behind Kai were the remaining Betas from Liam's pack, who had survived the attack yesterday. Members of the healer pack had tied them up, and as they waited for Kai to pass his final judgment. As soon as Kai faces the pack, the earlier murmur that had been prese
Kia knew he had the upper hand with Liam, he could tell he was getting weak, there was a slash on one of his head, legs and he was limping. It had taken him some time to be able to get that wound in. But it had cost him too; Lim had gotten to his eyes, his left eyes specifically. It just lay there on his face dripping blood riddled of any vision. Kia was worried; if an attack came at his blind side he wasn’t sure he would be able to see it. The Betas and the healer pack were watching, eyes fixed intensively on the fight unfolding before their eyes. He couldn’t let Liam win; it would be like committing suicide if he let him win. One way or the other he was going to end this cycle of violence. Too weak to come at me? He still had that cocky voice like he still had everything under control but that was far from the case. Why don’t you come at me, or your leg won’t let you? They circled each
"What does this tattoo mean."It had taken a while but with the help of Miranda and members of the Healer pack Kai had been able to round up the remaining Silver Moon Betas that had survived the fight. Now without an Alpha the pack was ready to accept him as their Alpha because he was the one who had fallen the old Alpha as per the law.But Kai wasn't really enthusiastic about becoming an Alpha. For now he just wanted some peace and quiet.Miranda has temporarily appointed someone from her pack to act as standing Alpha till Kai was ready to take up the mantle.Delilah was sleeping in one of the empty tents and images of her naked butt under the display of her gown filtered into his mind as his cock pushed against his pants. He had to be careful about his thoughts, Miranda always had a way of finding out.Miranda took a closer look at the tattoo frowning for a
Delilah rolled out of the way even with the slash on her back sending jolts of pain coursing through her body. Liam and Kai were already in combat with their wolf forms as they both circled each other brutishly strong and powerful.Delilah was aware of arms lifting her to her feet and the pain in her back intensifying. The rest of the Beta's that had arrived with Liam just stood there watching obeying the natural set law.She was aware of the arms that were carrying her, lifting her up, so that her face was to the sky and she marveled at how peaceful the sky was in contrast to the madness that was going on below it.There was a sticky feeling in her back and she was aware of blood running down the small of her back as she was being moved to somewhere she didn't know.
Sitting on the stump of the tree, the image of Delilah’s face as she yelled at him kept flashing before his eyes. Each time it popped up Kai pushed it down in a hurry. He wasn’t about to start feeling guilty for the decision he made. There was nothing he could do about it now.Yet why was he feeling this strange feeling of anguish in his heart as he thought about what he had said and the way Delilah had felt.He was right though, even though they weren’t friends again and hadn’t talked to each other for three years he knew Liam more that his once upon a time best friend knew himself.Lima would never stop until he had Delilah within his grasp and he would kill and destroy just to make sure he got what he wanted.
As soon as the man who had delivered the message finished Delilha was up on her feet, her heart beating madly in her chest. She was torn between two emotions.Rage at what her uncle had done to her and her parents and fear at the wolves who had just infiltrated the healer pack."How?" that's not possible Miranda said, staring pointedly at the man."Apparently they tracked someone here the Betas outside are requesting to meet someone named Delilah.Delilah's heart sank at those words. It was definitely Liam and his pack there was no doubt about it."She's my guest and she's in my grounds. Tell them to leave."
