Verasco turned a sour face. He pulled out the revolver behind his back, checking that the bullets were still intact inside without looking. Verasco was certain that one close-range shot would take the poor woman's life. He smiled with a sardonic grin, noticing that the corner of the hospital was in sight. "Wait for me here." The pentacle-clad feet stepped out. Verasco had a thousand ways to do whatever he wanted. Smooth and agile, there was no telling how he knew Rose's ward. His movements paused, watching Rose's prone body in there through the slightly open door. There was Travis waiting, he couldn't act that rashly. Verasco remembered Travis being the closest he had ever been. He had to be vigilant and hide for a while. "I'll see you in a moment, Miss. Lion will be arriving at the hospital shortly in my place."
"Shit!" Verasco's body was pushed away along with the revolver that fell to the ground. The hot lead, which was supposed to perforate the inside of Rose's head, missed by a long shot. Verasco turned away, jerking at the presence of someone beside him. Theo with a bandage on his head had just foiled his plan. Verasco didn't have time to let his anger build up. He crawled quickly to reach for the revolver just to repeat his evil deed. 'The one who lies down, must die'. Until one second had passed, he was still patenting the phrase. There was no mercy for her. Rose was the easiest target. The target most able to satisfy his desires and all that was suppressed. "Don't you dare do this to her." Theo growled sharply. Interrupting Verasco's actions just like he did the first time after entering Rose's ward.
The end of Verasco's act. Theo approached Rose's position. The touch on the top of the woman's head was too gentle. He intertwined his fingers between Rose's knuckles. "Where is the doctor? Why hasn't Rose regained consciousness until now?" asked Theo in a worried tone. "I'll call him, sir." Long after Lion's depature, suddenly the link tightened. Theo caught Rose's eyes blinking several times. He smiled a small smile-waiting for Rose's consciousness to collect itself. "My child ...." Rose's weak murmur made Theo swallow harshly. "Calm yourself first." He tried not to discuss anything about the loss. The spark was still lingering—it could be very jarring to Rose's emotions. "Tell me, Theo. My pregnancy is fine, right?" "It's alright, don't think anything strange. Everything will be fine." Rose's wounded gaze momentarily traced each of Theo's f
"Let go! I can walk on my own." Verasco shook both hands and smoothed out the folds of the crumpled cloth wrapped around his body. Theo had always been against Verasco, the very reason why he didn't want to even consider Theo's existence, let alone consciously call the man by name. It was far better for Verasco to liken Theo to Zever, until the day he and Zever could meet again. Verasco turned away. He left the hospital grounds with a sour look on his face. He got into the car with his mind on fire. Failed plans made... he would not give up that easily. If rushing was the decision that made it unsuccessful. Verasco would detail every step he would take. Not at this time. "I received news that Elijah and his subordinates are awake, sir." The information distracted Verasco. Of course he had another problem. The device Selena had found in the collar of his clothes that time had a close connection to some of the events unfo
Beatrace nodded softly. However, she did not understand why Rose's fleeting return seemed forced. Beatrace didn't say anything... just waited until Theo stopped looking at Rose's face. "Rose just had a miscarriage. I beg you not to discuss her pregnancy. And you Lion, quickly do as I ask." Lion had already heard that from Travis. But Beatrace was quite flustered, more so the look on Theo's face when he revealed the reality he had to accept could not be taken for granted. Theo was clearly hiding disappointment in his heart. "I'll leave Rose for a moment, Beatrace. I have something to do." "With my pleasesure, sir." Beatrace would wait for Rose to wake up, or at least keep her company until Theo returned. She would not question where Theo was going. Her employer would take care of things, that much was obvious. *** "What did you bring all t
"The lipstick you gave me is too red, Beatrace!" protested Travis unhappily. He wiped his lips in front of the small mirror several times just to remove any traces of color. "Master said you should be beautiful." Lion's voice chimed in loudly. He leaned against the wall of the door, satisfied with the way Travis had been transformed into a beautiful nurse. "Just shut up. Don't talk so much!" Travis pulled off one heel, intending to throw the object. Instead of that happening, Beatrace stepped in as a deterrent. "The master is waiting for you, go away." "Well, did you hear that, Trixia? No need to get angry, just knock on the door and go inside." "I'm not Trixia!" Travis handed Beatrace back the small mirror. Turning a cynical face, he pushed open the door frame of the main room of the mansion. Somewhat jolted Travis highlighted where Theo was. His steps were slow, struggling in heels and a uniform that hung halfway down his thighs. Travis smoothed his appearance as he no
Theo's exhale was harsh. The man moved slowly away from the edge of the bed. Rose's eyes followed where Theo was going. Still in the same place... Theo sat with his back to Rose on the other side of the bed playing with his cell phone. Rose thought the man was too focused. "What do you want to eat tonight?" Never expect Theo to ask that, even though she was reluctant to express her wishes. "Rose." The form of Theo's call changed. Rose tightened the blanket, choosing to close her eyes as Theo's body turned away. She went back to ignoring Theo as before. Let it go... at least so Theo would understand the state of Rose's heart. Their relationship was very unhealthy if Rose had to admit it. "I'll be gone for a while." Theo's footsteps moved away. Rose waited for the door to the room to close. She hurriedly reached for her old cell pho
Both silent. Both leaned against the headboard. Neither of them spoke to each other. No one started. Neither wanted to break the silence. Theo was busy with his laptop or cell phone. While Rose silently waited for news from Aiden. From late afternoon until midnight, he hadn't contacted her. Rose sighed. Occasionally glancing at the monitor that was lit in front of Theo. The web display showed images of the anatomy of the human-female body and a series of long sentences scrolled along with the cursor that kept moving. No idea what Theo's purpose was in studying that. Rose didn't try to ask directly, or maybe she had no intention of knowing anything about what Theo was doing and hiding. It was clear... their relationship was not healthy. It would only be a poison, a slow kill. Rose's face turned to where her cell phone lay. Hoping that Aiden would at least send a message and give her some news. But the screen of the flat thing was dark.
Rose's breath roared as she waited for the situation to allow them to scramble to the surface. "I'm not asking you to touch my stuff." Theo's growl jerked Rose to lift her face slightly. Rose got a free space once Theo broke away. The two sat facing each other under the long table. "Shall I smoke you, Sugar?" Sugar .... The call was in stark contrast to Theo's hissing sarcastic tone. Rose placed the gun in a tight grip right in front of her husband. Avoiding the possibility that Theo might do something bad. "I didn't know the bullets were real," Rose whispered, not trying to defend herself. Like the dozens of bullets Theo had spewed from the firearm the man had used. Rose thought the gun lying on the utensil had similar ammunition. She chose to take the shot herself and ended up with a glare that still held her close. "One more time you touch my gun without permission, I'll cut your fingers off."
Bang! The sound of a gunshot rang out after Rose caught up with Theo in the training room. The first time she set foot she found a navy blue coat lying on its side, almost slumped over the foot of the sofa. Rose clucked as she tidied it up and positioned it in a better spot. Theo's broad shoulders never escaped her gaze. The remaining white shirt wrapped around his sexy body. Rose leaned back with her arms folded across her chest. Bang! Another shot hit its mark. Theo was too skilled for anything related to the current activity. Shooting was the most common habit, or actually Theo's life would never be free from such things. Like some of the events that had ended. Rose recalled Theo's statement to the line a while ago, 'killing for pay.' She both needed Theo and worried. Theo is important to help her get revenge. However, Rose was well aware that being a contract killer was not easy. At any time Theo could be harmed, including enemies—enemies who would n
"Oracle. He was afraid, didn't even want to see me." Silence to understand. Rose tried to piece together the tangled threads, which were tangled without end. The main objects started from the octopus doll to other toys, which Rose slowly understood. "You went to see Oracle, is that it?" asked Rose carefully keeping her tone. Theo's faint nod provoked the next sentence to hang on the edge of her throat. "So you bought all these toys for Oracle?" Rose confirmed once more. "Yes. And this is for the little cuties. But they all refused. Wouldn't accept my gifts." Octopus doll for Acampeliaz .... No wonder it's so special, Rose wondered. "Leave it to me. I will give these toys and dolls to Oracle and Campel." Rose had her hands up, perhaps Theo would immediately hand over all the small objects. However, what happened instead was that Theo arranged a set of robots from the 'marvel' series, including a s
"Let go, Dad, I'm going home." "The people here are sickening! I don't like it." The attachment continued for Mr. Alejandro. He had to accept the fate of the mess he himself had created. It's all affecting his daughter. The poor woman who must endure the pain of revenge and mutual destruction. Mr. Alejandro was looking for the wrong opponent, not understanding the things he was ignoring. He should have started the war when Bouldog died. But the desire to possess Theo overcame everything. He never thought that Theo would be the most difficult to conquer. One time he acted, multiple times he was attacked in silence. That ingenuity was what he had dreamed of. Unluckily, Mr. Alejandro was unlikely to be ambitious again. While his daughter had been destroyed. Mr. Alejandro waited for the right time, at least until Elsesa—Elsa could compensate for the woman's mental and physical state after being hit simultaneously. "Calm your
Rose had to admit that Theo was quite different by remaining silent when their position was intact. The last sentence from her was ignored, the man was busy sniffing Rose's body scent. Deeply nuzzling the surface of her flat stomach. "Take a shower." Rose played with the black hair warmly. She smiled as Theo looked up at her. "Take a bath with me?" The ash bead drowned Rose deep in the warm ocean. She pursed her lips as she pulled Theo's facial skin wide to the side. "I'm old enough to bathe by myself. Hurry up...." A faint shake of Rose's head brought her to fall on her back on the bed. Theo's thirsty face and the man's large fingers began to dig into a t-shirt depicting a black bear, just like Theo who was currently resting on top of her. "I told you to take a shower, Theo. Not—" Rose was silenced by the tongue thrusting into her mouth. The sound of a wet sniffle trails off—a greeting of desire igni
Slowly Rose's eyelids slipped from their valves. The same Theo stared, silhouetted against each other in the mirror—Rose was lost in the seduction of the locking gray bead. "I was thinking of Oracle. He knows I don't like wearing earrings. Deliberately gifted me earrings so I'd wear them," Rose replied, successfully drawing one of Theo's eyebrows up high. "He's here, isn't he? Why don't you go straight to him." Theo's baritone voice whispered softly. Comparable to the smile on Rose's lips that curved again-this time briefly and too faintly. "He's back home ...." "Home?" Rose's body was slightly freed as Theo moved his face away from the crook of her neck. "Yes. Axe came to pick him up earlier." One step away she found Theo moving backwards. "Strange. Oracle came home because he was afraid of me, right? Did I hurt him too much?"Theo's quiet tone disturbed Rose's mind. She scrutinized the few times Theo's expre
Rose didn't care how the swaying bed jerked like a violent swinging shock. She maximized each powerful gallop like a giant crashing into the earth. Theo's body was a soft target for her feet. The man moaned in a submerged voice. Yet, also with pleasure... sometimes asking Rose to move from one spot to another. "Up again, Sugar. Up to the shoulders." Rose chuckled, still doing everything Theo wanted. One foot stomped even harder on her husband's hot, sexy shoulders. "That's it," Rose said. One leap ended the earthquake on the surface of Theo's body. She flung herself down beside the sleeping man. "You said you will give me back my gift box!" "I need to know. Who gave you the gift?" "Oracle. Here, give it back quickly." Rose's arms extended to pull the red velvet box in Theo's grasp. Their positions were in sync, both using their arms as a fulcrum to lift their chests. "Let me open it." Theo's large fingers separa
"No, you don't. You had your fill of acting like a baby last night." Rose ruffled the remaining strands of hair that still dangled over half of Theo's face. She looked down, searching for the most comfortable spot to strike. "Ouh, Sugar ...." A contrived hiss. Rose knew that no matter how much she clenched her teeth, it wouldn't give Theo much leverage. "Let go. I have to meet, Axe." "You son of bitch. I hope you don't leave before I get back." The chances of escape were slim in the conditions Rose had to face. She wasn't going to waste it, deliberately hunting her nimble footsteps leaving Theo alone lost on the bed. Rose reached for the doorframe. The hinges clicked after she positioned herself facing the man who had been calling impatiently. "You're taking so long." The stifled protest from the owner of the deep, raspy voice uploaded a barely perceptible smile on Rose's lips. "Sorry, Axe. I h
"Open your eyes, Theo." The throbbing was still as loud as it had been the first time Theo had spoken. Rose's heart and head were fighting each other. Each fighting for the space that overlapped the boundaries she had created for herself. In between came a strange feeling, which Rose could not organize into a symphony. She was a jumbled mess of randomness. Should have reconsidered Xelle's sentence a moment ago, was it true that Rose was trying to stay with someone who made her get lost in her own feelings? .... No, she wasn't. Rose didn't want to be confused by all that reality. As far as possible, she separated the things that shouldn't be lodged in the deepest corner of her heart. Towards a kind of choice which is the most appropriate to win Rose's sanity. She didn't want to be conquered. "Wake up. Get up, Theo!" Rose squeezed the clay muscles in her husband's arm. Turning the curled up body to face the ceiling of the main room. "T
