Nora's POV

Just when I thought I was going to meet with my second chance mate after Carlos had rejected me, the mate bond led me to where he stood.

It took all that I had in me not to erupt in anger. I was furious at the moon goddess for pairing me with someone who had rejected me for the second time.

Thanks to Karen who had pulled me from the scene, I wouldn't have known when I would lose control and then create chaos.

Even though the rest of the party was fun-filled, the thought of what happened earlier kept ringing in my head making me uncomfortable and sometimes, I find myself drifting off.

Just when the party was about to draw its curtains close, I heard a devastating news that made the hair on my body stand still.

“I can't leave my parents to suffer.” I said, pulling myself up as Karen ran after me.

Now outside the hall, Karen stood in front of me, preventing me from taking one step further.

Nora’s POV The pain made me lose concentration as I found it hard to stay put. Laughing like a maniac, Aria raised the knife she had been holding on to above her head. Instead of it glistening like before, it was now fully covered with blood. On her feet was Carlos who was bleeding profusely after being stabbed multiple times by Aria. I had felt the pain too because of the lingering mate bond.“Aria!” I howled, my eyes darken as I advanced in her direction. With anger welling up in me, I jumped on her, kicking her to the ground. I didn't stop there, I dug my claws into her neck making sure to rupture her blood vessels. In her defensive mode, she quickly transformed to her wolf form, baring her canines as she sized me up. She was about to lunge at me when her father, Alpha Jasper made his appearance. Now it was two against one.“Being a Lycan gives you no such privilege.” Alpha Jasper said through

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    I Hope He Doesn't Die

Nora’s POVAfter a tiring journey, we finally got to our destination — The Lycan Kingdom. Since it was an emergency, settling in was a hassle but thanks to my father and the elders who understood and helped them wholeheartedly. As for Carlos, the attention of the doctors were called and without wasting time, they came to his rescue. Although I was drained from all my earlier activities, I couldn't rest. My heart kept wandering about as I thought of what would become of Carlos. “I hope he doesn't die.” These words were on my lips and I kept repeating it over and over again as my heart thumped against my chest. It was past midnight, yet the doctors were still with Carlos. To get my mind off him, I began to pace through the hallway. “You need to get some rest Nora.” Karen said, announcing his presence. Ever since we had a fall out at the boundary, he hadn't spoken to me. Acting like I didn't hear h

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    I Have No Chance With Her

Carlos' POV Having rested well after the night of the war, I regained consciousness but this was only known between me and the doctor in charge. My reason for doing it was not that I wanted to feign being in a coma and draw pity from people, rather I was unsure of what was going to happen. Nora was the last person I was expecting to come save me at the borders. I'm certain she didn't come for me, not when her foster parents were also in danger. But she bringing me to the pack for treatment meant she still had a bit of care for me but even at that, I was scared. When she was done cleaning me up like she does twice a day, I felt her weight leaving the bed and at once I held her hand. My grip was weak simply because I was weak too but I held on until I couldn't anymore. “Thank you.” I mumbled, gulping down the lump that had risen in my throat. “You're awake.” S

Nora's POVThe sudden interruption sent my words back into my mouth and also made me realize that I had let my guard down once more. When I didn't respond to Karen who was fuming, he grabbed my arm and not minding the pains he was causing me because of his strong grip, he pulled me out of the ward, banging the door shut. He continued this way until we got to the garden which was devoid of any sound as the sun was up high in the sky. “Have you lost it?” He yelled, taking his position in front of me with his hands strapped across his chest. “Calm down!” I managed to say but instead of that to happen, he became even more furious, fist pumping the air. “We both know Carlos is up to no good, why do you keep allowing him to use you?” He yelled. “He doesn't love you, if he really does, he would not have rejected you.” He added. At this point, trying to calm him down was impossible. He wasn't going to listen to whatever I

Carlos' POVWhen Karen came in earlier, I could see the spite and anger he was emitting from his eyes as he glared at me. On my part, I was furious with his sudden interruption. Just when I thought everything would be settled between me and Nora, he made his entrance and as usual, I bore the brunt of it. Still nursing my hurted feelings, Justin walked into the ward. He was about to take his leave when he halted suddenly. “How long have you been awake?” He asked. From the body language, I knew he was uncomfortable with our presence here, same as I was but I needed to win Nora back before thinking of anything else. She was my main priority and I wouldn't give up on her until I succeeded in getting her back to myself. “It's been a while.” He didn't wait for me to say anything more before he stormed out of the ward, banging the door shut. Pushing my hand into my hair, I let out a low groan with my lips in between my te

Nora's POV I wanted to ask Vina what all these was all about but I couldn't stop pondering on the question. Reviewing Vina’s words, I couldn't help but to wonder what had prompted her into asking that and for the records, I doubt if Karen and I acted like we were items. “Your silence says I’m right.” She broke the silence in the room as she turned her back on me. She was about to step out when I rushed to her side. Holding her arm, I swirled her to face me only to see a silly smile dancing on her lips. “What is going on? Why did you ask?” I voiced out my thoughts, urging her to speak with my gaze. Now seated on the edge of my bed, Vina leaned in and with her hand resting on my shoulder, she said, “I’m worried about you.” “What…” “You're stressed out, you need to get a lot of rest, Nora.” She pouted, trying to make me lie on my back but I was adamant. “Since

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    You Are A Refugee

Carlos POVAs Karen made his way out, I suddenly felt my chest tightening. Something was definitely wrong and it was likely Nora. I ran swiftly towards the hospital ward, my eyes searching for her.As I got closer to the emergency ward, her scent hit me. It was indeed Nora and she was in the hospital. With shaky legs, I made my way towards where the doctors were trying to revive her. “Nora!” I called with a shaky voice, hitting her cheeks severally, trying to make her open her eyes but all to no avail. “She will be fine.” The doctor who was going after her before she slumped said, causing me to snap my head in his direction. I felt forlorn as I stared at her pale face. The doctor gently pushed me aside before turning to look at me. There was a faint smile on his face which made my pounding heart a little relaxed. “She is tired, hence her brain shut off all of its activities. She will need enough rest before she will get rejuv

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    You Broke Her...

Carlos' POV I was surprised to see Justin trying to tag along with us. I sent him a mindlink not to get involved in my issues. I was already feeling guilty towards his family. Although he was my beta, I know how much he was struggling to let go off my betrayal. That was one of the reasons I usually overlook his outburst at me. But then, this was my own issue. I was ready to place my life on the line in exchange for that of my Pack members and that's why I didn't struggle with the guards. The procession finally came to an end when we were in the middle of the training ground. It was same training ground used by all the warriors. It was also the place Nora had trained to become stronger." Karen-" “Can you feel the scent of defeat mingled with betrayal? ” He asked, looking around like this was the first time he was visiting this place. " What do you mean?" I asked, furrowing my brows. With a scoff, he stated." This was

GRIFFIN POVI sat in my dark study, the only light coming from a small lamp on my desk. Shadows danced on the walls as I flipped through reports detailing the latest records from financial recents transactions. I expected good news today. I had dispatched some of my best men—skilled fighters and tacticians who rarely failed to...A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts."Enter," I commanded.Kael stepped jn. Even in the dim light, I could still recognise his face."Well?" I asked, setting down the papers.Kael cleared his throat. "Sir, we... we couldn't penetrate the Carlos Pack borders."My fingers stilled on the desk. "What did you say?""Our men were intercepted. Most didn't make it back."I rose from my chair slowly, my movements deliberate. "You mean to tell me that thir

CARLOS POVThe only thing I could think of was to take my chances with the Witch girl. I bared my fangs as I got ready to attack the mute girl. My muscles tensed, ready to spring forward. I didn't want to hurt her—she had saved my life in the forest—but Nora was suffering. I had no choice. But before I could even make that attemot to move, someone beat me to it. A powerful force swept across us like an invisible wave. The mute girl's eyes rolled back in her head and she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.I whipped around to see who had attacked and breathed out in relief when I saw Elder Silvarum standing there, his hand still raised from casting whatever spell he'd just used. She was more focused on Nora than any other person."How is this possible?" Justin whispered beside me.I didn't have time to answer because we both turned back to look at Nora. What we saw made my blood run cold.Nora's eyes had changed too. They weren't the normal color of her eyes. They were also glowing just like the little girl's eyes were glowing. These men think they can just keep me in the dark about everything. Not anymore. If they thought I was a fool, I was done being a fool. I was tired of their games and whatever they were hiding from me. Images of the little girl flashed in my head. I could not take it off ny thoughts. When we got outside, I turned to my maid and said, "Take the children back to the palace. I need to speak with Justin alone.""Yes, Luna," she replied with a quick bow. NORA POVAfter I woke up, I decided to get ready to visit the library. There had to be more information about not having a wolf. The emptiness inside me where my wolf should have been felt like an open wound, and I needed answers.I sat up in bed, pushing away the strange dreams that had plagued my sleep—whispers in a language I almost understood, shadows that seemed to call my name. Shaking my head to clear it, I rang the small bell by my bedside.Minutes later, my maid Emma entered with a respectful curtsy. " Luna. How did you sleep?""Well enough," I lied, not wanting to worry her with tales of my restless night. "I would like to get dressed. I am planning to visit the library.""Of course, Luna." Emma moved to the wardrobe, selecting a simple blue dress that would be comfortable for a day of reading. "Will you be needing anything else?""No, that sh

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Shocked

CARLOS POVAfter we got to the pack, I decided to visit Nora as soon as possible. The warning that Elder Silvarum gave me after Nora's wolf was suppressed kept replaying in my mind like a broken record."When a wolf is suppressed unnaturally, Alpha, there are consequences," Elder Silvarum had told me, his ancient eyes boring into mine. "Especially in one with her... lineage. Watch her closely. She shouldn't encounter that which she had."I took swift strides towards my office, weighing my options carefully. The wooden floorboards creaked beneath my heavy steps as I moved back and forth, my mind racing with the fear that I had tried to suppress since the ritual.A gentle breeze carried the scents of the pack—familiar and comforting—but did nothing to ease the tension gripping my shoulders.Something else was bothering me. CARLOSI jolted awake, instinctively reaching for the arrow wound in my shoulder. My fingers found only smooth, unbroken skin. Confused, I sat up quickly, bracing for pain that never came. No wound, no burning poison, nothing—as if the attack had never happened. The sun had shifted position; I'd been unconscious for at least an hour. My gaze immediately sought and found the girl, who sat a few feet away, her back against a moss-covered tree. She looked even worse than before—pale as death, her makeshift bandage soaked through with blood, her breathing shallow."You healed me," I said, my voice rough from disuse. It wasn't a question. She looked up slowly, those strange amber eyes finding mine. Despite her weakened state, there was something fierce in her gaze, something ancient and wild that called to my wolf.I moved closer, examining her more carefully. She was youn

CARLOSI caught the scent of blood on the wind before I even reached the border. The acrid smell of fear mingled with the metallic tang of freshly spilled blood triggered every fighting spirit in me as I steadied towards the borders. I pushed myself harder, sprinting through the trees toward the sounds of battle. When I finally broke through the tree line, chaos greeted me. My border warriors were locked in fierce combat with at least twenty rogues who had somehow managed to breach our first line of defense. Bodies—both my pack members and rogues—already littered the ground."Alpha Carlos!" shouted Devin, one of my guards, as he knocked down a rogue. "They came out of nowhere, in formation!"I shifted immediately, bones cracking and reforming as my wolf took over. The familiar rush of power surged through me as I lunged into battle, taking down the nearest rogue with a singl

Even after five years, I still found myself marveling at her beauty, at the strength she carried within her—even if she no longer remembered it.Her agonising scream shook my heart. The headaches were becoming worse. And her inquisitive too. I could hardly avoid her piercing questions and gaze. Just like now.Her episode earlier had shaken me.
