The D-Day

last update Last Updated: 2025-01-13 19:47:21

It was the official program day. The Member Acceptance Program.

It was indeed a big event, often held by The Pack. It was a celebration thrown for the people who were newly brought into the pack.

The rogues who really wanted a change, would apply for this program to any available pack and after the pack evaluated and processes their information, they would be accepted and be shown love.

“Annatoria," Asher waved at Annatoria who was lost in watching the whole scenery. The decoration of the main hall, the walkway, the chairs and colors were top-notch.

They had the best designers and decorators do that……

“Alph" She smiled, waving back as soon as she sighted him. He was assisting the decorators in fixing the Chandelier lights.

“Where were you?" Asher asked, as he fixed up the light, then got down to walk with Annatoria.

“I was taking a nap, so I decided to check out the progress. The ceremony would take place by 9pm, right?"

" Let's go then’

As Annatoria took a step forward, she had no idea the long LED light had wrapped round her ankle.

As she turned to take it off, she lost her balance and her body hit the ground, causing pains in her side.

Asher tried to brab her hand but it was already late when he realized she was falling

“Oh no!" Annatoria moaned in pain, avoiding to look at her ankle.

As a veterinary doctor, she knew her ankle would have swollen.

“How's it?" Asher sked, his tone laced with concern and worry as he grabbed her ankle. It was twisted and already swollen.

“Hop on," He told her, as he bent, wanting to carry her.

Annatoria reluctantly climbed his back, as she bit her lower lip in pain.

Asher ran to the pack house, intending to calm a doctor as soon as he got there.

“It's fine, Asher. I can treat my leg even though I'm a veterinary doctor" Annatoria managed to speak, amidst the excruciating pain.

In no time, they got home. While on the way, the eyes that stared at them were alarming. Some think they're dating while some think she's a spy.

“Get me ice and an elastic bandage" Annatoria groaned, her hand clenched to her leg but, making sure she was not touching her ankle. He was quite uncomfortable about being in her room.

“I'm sorry you have to go through pain" Asher apologized, his tone spiced with regret as he handed her the items she requested for.

He felt he shouldn't have made her come close to him when they were at the hall.

“This is how it goes" She playfully said, cutting off the extra wool on the bandage.

She'd tied up the injured area and described the current condition of her injury.

“It's just a mere but painful dislocation of the ankle, it should heal up before 7 days” She smiled, noticing Asher's moody look.

At least, someone cares about her. She was begining to see a friend and companion in someone who she once saw as an enemy.

“You won't be able to make it to the ceremony tonight” Radolf murmured, regret evident in his voice and on his face.

“What do you think? I'm some cripple?" Annatoria cracked a joke, easing the boring mood.

"Now way!” Asher muttered " How would I?” Then a smile crawled up to his face.

The people whose documents had been submitted to the pack, were all on their way.

Asher requested for the files that contained all their information and his Beta, Axel.

“Total of 25 applicants?”Annatoria gAnnatoriaasped, staring at the record in Asher's hand.

His Beta, Axel seemed uncomfortable with the fact that Annatoria was shown the record. Even though he knew about her, he couldn't hide his distrust.

“No. Only seven are qualified" He smiled slyly.

“Oh! That's a relief"

“When will they be here?" asked Asher, her gaze skeptical.

“Probably towards 7:00pm"

Annatoria's wolf, Voila kept alerting her about something being wrong but, she didn't know what exactly was wrong.

“Jessica Armenia?” Annatoria slowly read the last names on the list of those who ere qualified.. The name “Jessica” reminded her of the maid who used to be her personal maid when she was at The Ember Wolves Pack.

“How did these two get in?” She asked, pointing at the second name “Gaius Crystal"

“They passed the qualification check" Asher smiled innocently, as he made attempt to cover the big folder.

“Wait!"

Annatoria had a feeling about the Acceptance Program.

“What if some of their members are within us?" She asked, her piercing gaze on him.

“Then, let's do the thorough check together" Asher suggested, dropping the folder in their middle.

They did a thorough background check on all the applicants and in the end, all of them were from traceable packs.

“It's time, I'll go and get dressed" Asher sighed, closing the folder up.

It was 8:00pm already and the Alpha himself had confirmed that the new members had already arrived.

Annatoria laid on bed and within few minutes, she was fast asleep..

The party had already started. It was an event that often annoyed some Alphas because those they banished, were taken in by other Alphas…..Amongst Alphas, Asher was among top three Alphas and of course, his many Alpha friends attended the annual event.

No one but Asher Henderson does that. Not even Radolf couldn't hold the program for more than 4 years. He started having problems other Alphas who were his business partners in the human society.

They seemed to live the normal lives of humans but, their packs still existed.

“What do you think would happen?" A young, feminine voice spoke to someone. She was standing behind Annatoria's window.

Although, it was a storey building, there was a staircase outside the building. One could easily reach the top of the house, by climbing those stairs.

“I'm worried too, what do you think?" A man responded. The two were not much older than each other. They were adults who looked younger than their ages.

Annatoria's eyes slowly opened. She was no longer feeling the pain in her legs. Her strong wolf abilities had helped her again.

“What if we end up getting caught?" The lady asked the guy.

“Then, I'd prefer to die here than return back to that callous being"

Annatoria's attention was drawn to their conversation. She lurked very close to the window, making sure her shadow didn't expose she was overhearing their conversation.

“What’s the name of the target again?” The guy asked, running his fingers through his neatlyy-dressed hair.

The lady whispered something ino the guy’s ear, causing Annatoria's suspicion.

“Oh! Call her and tell her we've arrived" The boy happily said to the girl before they left the place– for the hall.

Annatoria's eye color was beautiful at that moment. She was no longer the sad motherfucker who would pretend to be happy, even at the most unhappiest.

She lookedd up the wardrobe he'd-Asher already prepared for her. He made sure she felt like she was home.

All he seemed to do, was just the things that made her happy….the things Radolf never did.

Her dark--brown hair needed some touching and of course, she could do it.

She was set to shock everyone….her appearance there was going to be a shock….to even Asher.

“Annatoria, aren't we gonna rock?" Her wolf voiced for the first time in what seemed to be a long day. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as well as a sly smilee, as she gently applied the hair dye to her long hair.

“I thought you'd gone deaf" Anna teased her wolf, her best friend..

“Are you going blonde?" Her wolf asked, ignoring her silly teases.

“No, just lightening up my brown hair color"

Annatoria made sure her hair had properly dyed. She had the natural brown in her hair before. All she did, was add little dye to make it a lighter brown color.

The closet was filled with dresses, jewelry, shoes, perfumes, scents and many skincare.

Her perfect choice for the party, was the red, one-shiulder bodycon dress that revealed her upper back.

She groomed up, and wore it. Every second that passed as she stood before the mirror, was used in admiring her elegant body shape and the fitting of the dress of on her body.

Her face? The makeup was done by her. A beauty like her didn't need much makeup to appear so elegant, top-class and luxurious.

Her eyes glanced at the Loula V Limited Edition high fashion bag that was comfortably sitting at the top right corner of the bag rack.

It was a small bag, with golden detailing. It was detailed with gold, and silver. The sones were quite scanty but all on the bag, screamed “high luxury".

Of course, her slay was never going to be complete without the red stilettos that portrayed her elegance as a woman.

Her hand dragged from her flat tummy, to her wide hips. Her nice shape, pretty face and fashion sense gave her the best feeling ever..

She grabbed her bag from the bed and out the room, she went. Heading for the party hall.

The party was going on, fun was happening. Everyone seemed to be carried away with exchanging pleasantries.

“Hey, Asher" Alpha Dave, Asher's old friend since high school called out, waving. They'd been good friends since those days, even until they both ascended their Father's thrones and became the leaders of their packs.

Asher let out a happy laugh as he set his eyes on his old friend.

“You've become a man," He teased, spreading his palm for a handshake.

“Look who's talking"

They hugged each other tightly.

“Asher!" Luna Layla cheered. Asher's smile slowly vanished as she ran up to him for a hug.

She became Asher's accquaintance and even though he knows she likes him, he has zero interest in her.

He's on good terms with her husband, the Alpha of The Moon Shifters Pack.

She's such a flirt and a cheating wife and only 1 of 100 Alphas don't know that.

Morning light streamed through the bedroom window, wrapping Annatoria in its gentle warmth as she rolled from the other side of the bed. Her alarm had rang twice but she was too sleepy to get up.
