At this point, it would seem that Sylvia was never going to give her son back.

Jeanette gnashed her teeth. Her knees buckled, and she knelt on the ground.

“Mother, if I’ve done something wrong, you should speak directly to me. Felix is young. He doesn’t know anything. Please don’t separate me from my child!”

Jeanette was willing to do anything for Felix. She would beg and plead if needed. It didn’t matter if she had to cast her dignity aside, as long as Felix could stay with her.

Sylvia was shocked by her reaction. She quickly asked a maid to pull her to her feet.

Jeanette slapped the maid’s hand away and continued. “If you want to see my son, you can see him anytime you want. But please don’t separate us. I’ll do anything except hand Felix over to you!”

Sylvia scoffed. “Jeanette, you should know how little I think of you. You’re nothing but the illegitimate Leighton daughter, who stooped to dirty tricks, just to worm your way into the Godfrey family.”
