Jess woke up cold and in pain. She found herself laying on a bed she would imagine would be used in jails. The mattress was worn out and filled with stains and the metal bed frame wiring looked like it was about to snap. If jess was not in so much pain, she would be too afraid to move, but due to her pain, movement was not even an option. Jess just kept laying still and only turned her head to look around the room she was in, it was the only thing that her body would allow to move. Jess soon realized that the room was not a room, but more like a cell. The bars on the one side of the room, just confirmed that jess was not in a safe place. The room was lit with one dim white light and only had one other thing in it – a bucket – that in no way looked sanitary. Jess eyes widen when she recalled the last thing that happened to her before darkness had consumed her. She looked down and saw that the piece of branch was removed from her hip. Without the adrenaline pumping through her she could truly feel the extent of her injuries, she hurt all over.
Jess laid still for a while, but she couldn’t take it anymore, she had to get some answers on how she ended up in a prison cell. With tremendous effort Jess pushed herself up in a sitting position. By the time she was up right she was out of breath and hissing in pain, with her legs shaking and barely keeping her standing. Jess tried to take a step but crumbled into herself. Falling and hitting her bad hip. Jess cried out and curled her fingers on the cement floor.
“You were in no shape to move, miss. You should have laid still.” An unfamiliar male voice said. Jess’s eyes were still shut tight due to the pain. The man pushed her so that she would lay on her back. He pulled up her shirt and looked at her hip.
“She tore her stitches; we need to go to my office.” The unfamiliar voice spoke again.
“No, we have waited long enough to speak to it. Let’s take it to the interrogation room.” A deeper unfamiliar voice spoke for the first time.
“Alpha Joshua, humans are a lot more delicate than werewolves they need more time to heal.” The first unfamiliar voice spoke. He was about to continue his point but was interrupted.
“No, I agree with Joshua. We take it to the interrogation room.” An even deeper unfamiliar voice spoke. Before Jess could even process what was being said, she was lifted off the ground and swung over a man’s firm shoulder. Jess cried out again as her bad hip made contact with what felt like, a metal shoulder. Jess saw black spot start to surround her vision. Every second that passed felt like more and more glass was being rubbed into her wound. Her entire body was on fire. Jess had no idea what was happing around her, but she needed it to stop.
“Please… st…op..” Jess barely whispered, but it did what it needed to. She was swung over the person’s shoulder and moved into the persons arms, which was the only thing that kept Jess upright. Her one hand was laying lazily over the persons one shoulder and the other hand drooped over the person’s arm. Her vision was fully black now and that’s when she passed out again.
“You got to be fucking kidding me!?” Xavier shouted as the girl fell against his chest.
“Wow, its true what people say, humans are useless.” Joshua made a snarky comment and decided to leave, seeing that no work was going to be done today and not wanting to be in the human’s presence longer then needed.
“I’ve linked Doctor Seth already; he is on his way.” Raymond said as he leaned against the wall in the middle of the hall.
Xavier moved the girl to the ground. She looked terrible. She had brown leather hiking boots on with socks that once were grey but turned brown. She had a loose short jean on that was covered in blood, mud, and twigs. Her grey strap t-shirt was torn at the edges, where the branch went through and completely covered with old blood and now new blood, but it did not look so bad because of the blue purple long sleeved flannel she wore, that covered up some of the mess. Her body was pale white and small but build nicely. It was the first time Xavier had really looked at the girl. For a human she was not the worst looking but he would never say that out loud.
“This thing is really starting to piss me off.” Xavier said with annoyance as clear as day in his voice.
“When are you not pissed off, Xavier?” Matthew laughs as he joked with his brother. Matthew gives his brother a pat on the shoulder and gives him his award-winning smile.
“Go ahead and get cleaned up, your shirt has blood on it. It’s clear she will be of no use to us for today. You can also hear if all the arrangements for the elder’s arrival tomorrow is set.” Matthew said to Xavier. Xavier sighed and gave a long look at the girl before nodding his head and leaving. Doctor Seth was in sight now and moved to the girl on the floor. He lifted her shirt and gave a deep sigh as he saw the wound had filly reopened.
“The wound has barely healed and now with the movement it is as if no time has passed.” Doc said and looked up at the alphas.
“Please, we need to move her to my office.” Raymond gave the Doc a nod and pushed off the wall.
“Matthew, are you find to deal with this? I need to go and talk to Mike.” Raymond asked Matthew.
“Of course, brother. Have I ever let you down?” Matthew joked. Raymond gave one last looked at the girl and left. Even though his face did not give anything away his tense shoulders said everything.
“Xavier is right, it is going to fuck things up.” Raymond said, and with that he left. Matthew looked at his retreating brother, before making his way to the girl. He picks her up bridal style and follows doc. He hoists the girl so that her head fell in between his shoulder and neck, he then moved his lips to her ear.
“I also think you are going to screw things up … but I don’t think that is a bad thing.” Matthew softly whispers to her so that only she can hear him.
Everything had been chaotic after the girl had passed out again. Xavier was checking the last details before the elders were to arrive, Joshua was busy setting up the warriors and increasing border patrol after their uninvited guest arrived, Raymond was preparing the grand hall for the investigation of the human and Matthew was still with the doc helping to heal the human’s wounds. After many, many strenuous hours had passed the elders finally arrived the next day. The elders consisted out of the four realm – Fae, werewolves, dragons, and siren. The world consisted out of a lot of supernatural creatures, but the shapeshifters had always been allies and that’s why their realm was the strongest of all. Fae and sirens brough their ability to manipulate nature and werewolves and dragons brought their brute strength and hunting abilities to the table. The alliances between the four species were always fragile, but they needed one another, and they knew that, so no matte
‘Mine’ Xavier growled through the mind-link.Everyone stared at him. Xavier was the last person that would have wanted a human mate. The Williams hated humans, but Xavier was the worse, after what happened to them, they couldn’t stand that species. Xavier’s wolf backed off the girl on the floor, his mind running a mile a minute. Xavier turned back into his human form and turn away from the girl and moved back to his brothers. His brothers did not know how to react, they knew why this was terrible news, but what should they say, what should they do? All of them hated the situation and wanted to kill the girl off as soon as she arrived, but they needed answers of how she got here. Xavier was clenching his fist and taking rugged hard breaths. Matthew was about to say something, but the human groaned. Mike came over to Xavier and handed him some clothes.Jess moved to her side and hissed as the pain spread up her body. She slowly pushed herself up o
As Jess closed her eyes, she felt as if she was being pulled out of her body. She had no control over herself. Jess couldn’t control anything about herself, she had no say when Sasha started to ask questions and Jess simply answered her, without even wanting to.“How did you get here? How did you get into this territory?” Sasha asks, but her voice has an echo to it as if her words are being heard from far away.“I was on a hike. It was the first time that I climb this trail, everything was fine in the beginning, but on my second day I felt as if I was being followed. I got off the trail hoping to lose whatever was following me. When I looked back again wolves were chasing. I ran to get away, but I got hurt and when I woke up again, you people were here.” Jessica spoke in a deadly calm voice, she sounded like a drone.“What do you know of our people? What do you know of supernatural?” Sasha asks her voice still sounding f
The quadruplets sat in their adjoint office and thought-over what the elders just told them. All of them were frustrated with the situations. They hated that this moment of finding their mate was tainted with humanity. They wanted to just kill her and forget that she was ever real, but know that she was their mate, they had to keep her alive – for their own sake. That’s what the elders told them – when it comes to having a mate from a different species the mating bond is even more intense than what it already normal is. Normal if someone’s mate dies, it would take them years to get over it, if they even could get over, but with other species as your mate it is a lot more intense. If Jess dies, it might be so intense that they lose their humanity and how stronger the bond gets the more intensely they will be affected if something were to happen to her, they could even die themselves. The elders had given them a lot more information on mates with different spec
It has been a couple of weeks since Jess’s arrival and even though the boys didn’t admit it, it was clear that their plan to forget of Jess, was not working. Their wolves were agitated all the time and they themselves had a shorter fuse then they normal had. They felt irritated all the time, and their rest was nowhere to be found. It was clear that the distance between them and their mate had a big effect on them, but none of them wanted to admit defeat, it was against their nature. The boys had a hard time through the past weeks and Jess also did, but for a completely different reason. After she was taken from the grand hall she was placed back into her old cell. Jess was left alone down in the cells and since she had no windows she didn’t know if it was day or night, but she soon found out the cells had a system, there was a very dim light that lit the halls, at night that dim light would be turned off completely. She was so relieved to see another person,
Xavier was irritated, annoyed, mad, furious – his emotions were all over the place and he knew it was all because of that stupid human. It made him hate her even more. If he could, he would end her life in a heartbeat. He felt like he was losing control of everything which made him even more unpleasant then usually. His brothers couldn’t even provide him comfort because they were in the same boat as him. The brothers were also fight more and more intensely than they used to. The more Xavier felt annoyed and the more he saw his brothers bothered by the bond, the more he wanted to punish the human and soon he couldn’t take it anymore. One night, Matthew and Raymond were still shouting at one another about something that really didn’t matter, after hours of listening to them acting like children, he lost it and stomped down to the cells.“Move!” he growled to the guards. In a blink of an eye, they were out of the way, Xavier ripped open
Jess couldn’t take it anymore. She was exhausted, drained, and scared all the time. She just wanted to get out of this hell hole, but how was the question. There was no way to fight her way out of the cells, it meant she would have to fight Sarah, the cell monster and who knew how many other people. She had to get into an easier place to escape from. It took weeks before she formed a plan, which was inspired by the monster. One night the monster had ripped Jessica’s blanket form her and the next morning when she saw that the blanket was in pieces, she remembered how the only time she was let out of the cell was for the interrogation and when she was hurt. She needed a reason to get back into the hospital. The only problem was that she had limited things to work with, she had thought of using the beast in her advantages, but the more she thought about it, the more she was certain that it would just kill her. So, she looked at the things she had at her disposal – her
Joshua reached Jess first, but by that time she was already unconscious. He picked her up and met the boys in the hallway. They all stared down at their mate in the arms of their brother. All of their eyes were gold, clearly showing the presence of their wolves.“What happened to her?” Matthew was the first to ask.“All I know is we need to get her to Doc.” Joshua said seriously and moved around his brothers and started to run towards the doctor’s offices. Joshua reached the office quickly and hurriedly laid the human down on the bed. Doc pushed him off immediately and started to inspect her. Sarah was also already there looking worried.“Her pulse is so weak. What happened?” Seth asked as he inspected her eyes. Everyone turned to Sarah.“I don’t know. I saw her minutes ago and she was perfectly fine, she ate her soup and I left.” Sarah told everyone, making it clear that nothing was going on whe
Jess removed the loose piece of rock, revealing the pages she had hide so many months ago. She held them in her hands rereading the words that were already imprinted in her brain. One can change with the blood of love in a cup. Drink it all and make the ultimate sacrifice. A strong heart will prevail with a new beginning in a new life. The blood that pulses through the reborn will bond closer with those that have sacrificed it and internal happiness will be yours in the life on a creature of the moon. But fail and you will be met with an everlasting darkness, roaming around in the afterlife with no hope of return.Bee warned that only those with a brave heart and strong bond to those they love might survive and become one of the goddess moon children.Jessica read the page she already new by heart, she tore of the last piece of the page that held the outcome for when the ceremony is not successful and placed it back into her original hiding place. Knowing
Once Jess saw maya’s name, all the memories come rushing back, it was like a wave had crushed down on her and left her completed broken. Jess didn’t know how to fell or how to act. She wanted to cry and scream all at once, but she also felt so drained that she didn’t even know if she could stand up. She was completely lost. All her memories played at once. Xavier tormenting her in the cells, but then holding her tightly at night as the slept together. It made jess dizzy and disgusted. She honestly didn’t know what to do. The pain of Maya was still in her heart and as strong as ever. She knew that she never really saw Maya the night she jumped, but just those few seconds she wanted to believe that Maya was still alive, and that Maya was still with her, she wanted to believe that she wasn’t alone.Jess stood up from the ground and started to walk, she wasn’t sure where she was going, but she needed to get out of this house. She didn’t w
Chapter: Forty-threeThings change after Jess learned the truth of the boy’s past. She felt closer to them then before and they were more open with her as more time passed. Things were great between then. They would fall asleep in someone’s room every night, have breakfast together, always joking with one another and they spent almost the entire day together.Jess liked that she was learning herself with the boys. If it wasn’t for Matthew, Jess would have never known that she hated running and if it wasn’t for Joshua, Jess would have never known that she is great at lying when it come to sparing someone else feelings. She also learned that she really liked to make-out with very attractive men. Jess was scared that the boys would get jealous of one another if Jess spent to much time with one of the boys in particular, but they never did. They were genuinely happy for one another and didn’t mind sharing, which Jess was not go
Jess sat in the living room with all the boys. Joshua stood against the wall while Matt, Ray and Zav all sat in separate chairs. No one wanted to be the first to speak, but they knew someone had too. Jess had begged them to tell her what happened, what the incident was that everyone was keeping from her. She wanted to know, she needed to know.“You should know, the barriers around everyone’s territories where only set a few years, after this incident.” Xavier began telling the story, everyone dreaded to hear.“Our mom took us to the forest, there is a clearing we use to go to everyday just to play and hang out with her. We were in our wolf’s form running around when we picked up a strange sent, we never smelt before, by the time we ran back to the place our mom was, a gun shot went off. The bullet went through her heart and killed her instantly. Our wolves rode down in pain as our bond broke with her. We were so consumed with pain, that we
Jess, Raymond and Matthew sat in the kitchen, Jess sat on Raymond’s lap as she was rolling a piece of bread in her hands, forming a ball.“You have to catch this one, Matt.” Jess said and gave him a pointed look, before lifting her arm and throwing the bread across the room, hoping it would go into Matt’s mouth. The bread flew across the room and landed on the floor; it was nowhere near Matt’s face.“You suck at throwing, love. That wasn’t even close to my face.” Matthew laughed at Jessica. Who knew a person could be such a bad thrower even if the distance was only the width of a dining-room-table? Matthew broke off a piece of bread and rolled it into a ball as Jess huffed at Matthew’s statement. She didn’t believe that she was a bad thrower, but it was Matthew who was a bad catcher. He held up his arm ready to throw and laughed as he saw Jess shut her eyes and opened her mouth. H
Jess was so annoyed, due to her fight with the boys, she never went to eat that night, because she was determined not to see them, but since she was so angry, she couldn’t sleep that night either. She kept tossing and turning, her mind still focused on the boys. So, it was safe to say with an empty stomach and no sleep she was not in the best mood. The boys had also not gotten any sleep, their wolves desperately wanting their mates close to them like the previous night. The more Jess ignored them the more irritated they felt. So, when morning came and it was time to finally go to school, the tension was high. Jess hadn’t greeted any of the boys as she made her way to the floor below them to eat breakfast with Sarah and Mike. But none of them had an appetite with the foul mood they were in. Raymond entered the kitchen as Sarah and Mike put away their dirty dishes and instructed them to take Jess to school, because they were already leaving. Jess clenched her jaw and fist
“Wait for me.” Sarah called out as she took the steps two at a time, to reach Jess faster.“What did they send you to surveil me?” Jess asked as she crossed her eyes. Sarah laughed and rolled her eyes at Jess.“Hey, don’t act up with me, I was on your side. I told them before you came that they should speak to you about it.” Sarah said as she lifted her hands in defense.“You did? Thank you. See, I just don’t get it, if we can see that they should have talked to me first, how can’t they?” Jess said, feeling fired up. Sarah smiled again.“Duh, the answer is obvious, because they are men.” Sarah said and laughed; Jess laughed as well at her comment. Jess like Sarah, she was kind and funny.“I should have snapped at you before, I’m sorry. They just got under my skin.” Jess said, knowing her reason was stupid, but it was the truth.“Don’t
Jess woke up in the middle of the voice, her head was hurting a bit. Jess sat up in bed and was relieved to find a glass of water next to her. When she went to reach for it, she was stopped by a heavy hand that rested in hers. She followed the arm, to find that at the end of it was Matthew. He was sleeping on the ground in a sitting position, his back against her bed and the hand she held was in an uncomfortable position. She gently let go of his hand and placed it softly down on his lap. She pulled herself up and surveil the room, that was lit due to her bed-lamp that was on. Joshua was sleeping on the edge of the beds one corner, while Raymond slept on one of the bigger sofas in her room and Xavier was laying down on the fluffy mate in her room. Jess felt so bad as she remembered begging them to stay in her room, the bed had more than enough space for some of them to stay on it, but she knew they were trying to respect her privacy. She couldn’t explain how touched she was. J
“Are you really going to do this?” Xavier asked as he looked at Matthew and Raymond moving the sofa and Joshua who looked at them. Matthew was the first one who of course agreed with Jess’s plan, but strangely enough Raymond also agreed, and Joshua didn’t argue, which basically means yes to him.“Come on, Xavier. It’s going to be fun.” Jess said as she brought more blankets and pillows. He sighed and rolled his eyes, realizing that he already lost the battle.“Fine, but then I’ll need liquid courage.” Xavier said and walked out of the room only to return later with glasses in his hand and a bottle filled with a brown liquid inside. He poured some of the liquid in three glasses and handed them to his brother, before pouring himself a glass and finding a place to sit. Jess looked at all of them drinking the liquid and frowned.“What about mine?” Jess asked and looked at Xavier. He looked over
