Everything had been chaotic after the girl had passed out again. Xavier was checking the last details before the elders were to arrive, Joshua was busy setting up the warriors and increasing border patrol after their uninvited guest arrived, Raymond was preparing the grand hall for the investigation of the human and Matthew was still with the doc helping to heal the human’s wounds. After many, many strenuous hours had passed the elders finally arrived the next day. The elders consisted out of the four realm – Fae, werewolves, dragons, and siren. The world consisted out of a lot of supernatural creatures, but the shapeshifters had always been allies and that’s why their realm was the strongest of all. Fae and sirens brough their ability to manipulate nature and werewolves and dragons brought their brute strength and hunting abilities to the table. The alliances between the four species were always fragile, but they needed one another, and they knew that, so no matter what the alliance came first.
Elder Jahar was the elder from the Fae folk. He was quite skinny but still seemed intimidating due to his tall stature. Fae had marks that showed their bloodline and in Jahar’s case, the bark that acted like his skin on some parts of his body, was his mark.
Elder Nadia was the elder from the sirens, mermaids were always known for their extreme beauty, but also their extreme rath and elder Nadia was no exception. Her long brown hair was still wet and held a crown of seaweed and beautiful shells, her face was gorgeous, and her eyes mirrored the sun shining through the ocean waters. You could always tell when a person was a mermaid due to the smell they carried.
Elder Sasha was from the dragon realm and she looked as sexy as she seemed dangerous. She had fiery red hair and when her dragon was in control her pupils would turn into slits.
Lastly was Elder Kian he was from the werewolf realm and also the quadruplets father. He was a big man with army green eyes and blond hair that none of the boys received.
Kian looked exactly like he did the day he left to join the elders and that’s because elders do not age like others, some elders live through 7 millenniums. All the elders wore a blue robe that covered their entire body.
Joshua was the first to meet the elders at the entrant’s hall of the pack house. He bowed before the elders.
“Thank you for coming on such short notice, Elders.” Joshua greeted and then turned specifically to his father and gave a smaller bow.
“It’s good to see you, Father.” Joshua said without meeting his father’s eyes. Kian only gave a nod in recognition. Before awkward silence could fill the room, Raymond appeared.
“Elders, we are honored to have you here. Thank you for coming.” Raymond said as he too bowed before them. They all gave him a nod in recognition.
“If you would please follow me into the grand hall.” Raymond said and turned around to show the way to the hall. Joshua trailed behind them and soon Xavier met them along the way but stayed back with Joshua. Only once they reached inside, did Xavier greet the four Elders. Once they were seated Elder Sasha spoke.
“Bring in the girl.” She said with a calm tone.
Matthew entered the hall with Jess in his arms. She was still unconscious and pale white due to the lack of blood she had in her system. Matthew bowed to the elders before letting Jess down on the ground. Xavier filled the elders in on how they came across the human and from there the elders took over. Elder Jarrah blew open the glass doors with wind and soon green vines were trailing into the hall, making their way to the girl. The vines twisted around her lifting her off the ground. leaves started to bloom from the stem and sticked to Jess’s wound on her hip. Some leaves also stuck to her palms and on the scratches on her legs. After that, Elder Nadia lifted her hand pulling in water from the outside and spun it around Jess carefully. The vines and the water worked together to pry open Jess’s mouth, so that the water could enter. Soon Jessica started to regain some color back into her skin and as she started to look healthier the water and the vines retreated out of the glass doors again and shutting them on their way out. The room was filled with silence before Elder Kain asked a question that not one of the boys were expecting.
“Whose mate is the human?” Kian spoke calmly. All four of the boys stared wide eyed at the father.
“What are you talking about.” Joshua asked being completely outspoken for the first time, in a long time.
“The barriers around the different species territories may be there to keep others out, but mates can go through. If a human was able to pass through your barrier, it means she is someone’s mate.” Nadia said calmly in her angelic voice, as she looked uninterested into the distance.
“No!” Xavier growls. The aura around the boys changed to a very tense environment, but Xavier was too far gone. His knuckles turn white as he grips his fist. His eyes change from their normal green into a burning gold. Heat started to vibrate off him and soon the cracking of bones could be heard. It took seconds for his form to disappear and be replaced with a huge black wolf. The wolf charged at the girl, in a few seconds he stood over her, his teeth showed as he growled. He moved his head back and opened his muffle – ready for the kill, but before he could go in, the girl opened her eyes and whispered one thing.
“Please, help.” Her soft voice spoke as her eyes fell closed again. With only that limited words and that few seconds of eye-contact everything changed.
“Mine”
Jess removed the loose piece of rock, revealing the pages she had hide so many months ago. Once Jess saw maya’s name, all the memories come rushing back, it was like a wave had crushed down on her and left her completed broken. Jess didn’t know how to fell or how to act. She wanted to cry and scream all at once, but she also felt so drained that she didn’t even know if she could stand up. She was completely lost. All her memories played at once. Xavier tormenting her in the cells, but then holding her tightly at night as the slept together. It made jess dizzy and disgusted. She honestly didn’t know what to do. The pain of Maya was still in her heart and as strong as ever. She knew that she never really saw Maya the night she jumped, but just those few seconds she wanted to believe that Maya was still alive, and that Maya was still with her, she wanted to believe that she wasn’t alone.Jess stood up from the ground and started to walk, she wasn’t sure where she was going, but she needed to get out of this house. She didn’t w
Chapter: Forty-threeThings change after Jess learned the truth of the boy’s past. She felt closer to them then before and they were more open with her as more time passed. Things were great between then. They would fall asleep in someone’s room every night, have breakfast together, always joking with one another and they spent almost the entire day together.Jess liked that she was learning herself with the boys. If it wasn’t for Matthew, Jess would have never known that she hated running and if it wasn’t for Joshua, Jess would have never known that she is great at lying when it come to sparing someone else feelings. She also learned that she really liked to make-out with very attractive men. Jess was scared that the boys would get jealous of one another if Jess spent to much time with one of the boys in particular, but they never did. They were genuinely happy for one another and didn’t mind sharing, which Jess was not go
Jess sat in the living room with all the boys. Joshua stood against the wall while Matt, Ray and Zav all sat in separate chairs. No one wanted to be the first to speak, but they knew someone had too. Jess had begged them to tell her what happened, what the incident was that everyone was keeping from her. She wanted to know, she needed to know.“You should know, the barriers around everyone’s territories where only set a few years, after this incident.” Xavier began telling the story, everyone dreaded to hear.“Our mom took us to the forest, there is a clearing we use to go to everyday just to play and hang out with her. We were in our wolf’s form running around when we picked up a strange sent, we never smelt before, by the time we ran back to the place our mom was, a gun shot went off. The bullet went through her heart and killed her instantly. Our wolves rode down in pain as our bond broke with her. We were so consumed with pain, that we
Jess, Raymond and Matthew sat in the kitchen, Jess sat on Raymond’s lap as she was rolling a piece of bread in her hands, forming a ball.“You have to catch this one, Matt.” Jess said and gave him a pointed look, before lifting her arm and throwing the bread across the room, hoping it would go into Matt’s mouth. The bread flew across the room and landed on the floor; it was nowhere near Matt’s face.“You suck at throwing, love. That wasn’t even close to my face.” Matthew laughed at Jessica. Who knew a person could be such a bad thrower even if the distance was only the width of a dining-room-table? Matthew broke off a piece of bread and rolled it into a ball as Jess huffed at Matthew’s statement. She didn’t believe that she was a bad thrower, but it was Matthew who was a bad catcher. He held up his arm ready to throw and laughed as he saw Jess shut her eyes and opened her mouth. H
Jess was so annoyed, due to her fight with the boys, she never went to eat that night, because she was determined not to see them, but since she was so angry, she couldn’t sleep that night either. She kept tossing and turning, her mind still focused on the boys. So, it was safe to say with an empty stomach and no sleep she was not in the best mood. The boys had also not gotten any sleep, their wolves desperately wanting their mates close to them like the previous night. The more Jess ignored them the more irritated they felt. So, when morning came and it was time to finally go to school, the tension was high. Jess hadn’t greeted any of the boys as she made her way to the floor below them to eat breakfast with Sarah and Mike. But none of them had an appetite with the foul mood they were in. Raymond entered the kitchen as Sarah and Mike put away their dirty dishes and instructed them to take Jess to school, because they were already leaving. Jess clenched her jaw and fist
