Jess was still watching as the wind blew up the leaves outside, the sun had already broken through the horizon, Sarah was still fast asleep. Jess knew that she would have to go back to her tormentors to make them breakfast, to make the day worse than it already was, was the fact that it was Saturday, the weekend, meaning the boys wouldn’t have to go into school today and that Jess had to be by their side through the entire day, at their beck and call, that’s how Raymond stated it when he gave Jess her rules. That is the last thing she wanted. To be with them the entire day made Jess’s hands shake just by thinking of it. She looked at the clock in the room, it was only four o’clock, she still had an hour and a half before she had to start making breakfast. Maybe she could poison the boys and run away then? She smiled at herself, she knew that she would never be able to pull it off, she tried to do it once when she was younger. Jess just ended up dumping everyt
Jess woke up to find herself alone in the boy’s study. She looked at the time to find it was only 6 o’clock. The boys breakfast had to be done by seven-thirty, so she had more than enough time. She quickly cleaned up the office before making her way to the kitchen. She decided to make just oats with some fruit. As she was slicing the fruit the boys walked in, all of them without shirts and all of them sweaty. Matthew was the first to walk in, he was built big and fit. His stomach was toned and gleaming with sweat. Joshua was next, he had a toned stomach too, but he had much bigger shoulder, Jess didn’t now she was ogling, but the boys picked it up the minute she started. She continued to mindlessly stir the food as Raymond walked in, he was toned just like the others, but his abs were a lot more defined. Lastly was Xavier he was just as built as his other brothers, but he had a deep scar across his chest running up his shoulder which made him look dangerous in a go
Things went back to normal after Xavier was okay again. The brothers and Jess even found their own routine within the next week, Jess would follow the rules and do the things they asked, and they would leave her alone, they would in no way be kind to her, but it was better than before, they weren’t going out of their way to terrorize her anymore, most night the boys worked late, busy with the arrangements for the queen, Jess hadn’t slept in the office, other than the first time, but she wanted to, she never slept as good as she did that day. Not since she arrived at this place. But what Xavier said a few days ago were true, things hadn’t change between them. They still had a worker-boss relationship, and if she stepped out of line she would be punished, Jess kept reminding herself of this, but even though the voice in her head was wise, didn’t mean she was smart enough to listen to that voice.“So, I get to go down the stairs? I get to go all the
Jess couldn’t sleep, how could she after reading their note? What did it mean act infatuated, would she have to do things? Jess hand shook all through the night and shook even now as she sat in front of Sarah as she did Jess’s make-up. Jess was already dressed in her first outfit. It was a long, white, turtleneck, knit dress that stopped at her knees, pared with a black heel and black belt. Jess had also worn a white long sleeve underneath the dress, just to have something more protecting her from the cold air, it was clear that it would soon be winter.“There I’m done.” Sarah said as she sprayed a perfume over Jess and then looked at her watched.“Just on time too, come on let’s go.” Sarah said as she grabbed Jess’s hand and made it out the door and up the stairs. Jess moved like a robot, following along silently. She felt like something bad was on its way, it made her uneasy and anxious, more then she would usuall
Jessica felt strange. It was a simple word, but it was the best way to describe how she felt. She felt like everything around her moved slowly and nothing was in focus. She could barely get herself up the stairs. She didn’t no where she was going, but her body seemed to know. It led her up the stairs and into the kitchen. Jess felt hot al over. She leaned against the counter, trying to get her eyes to focus on something, anything, but it didn’t help, soon however the kitchen door opened, and the brothers walked in shirtless. Jess realized she was remembering the morning the came after training to eat breakfast. The brothers themselves looked like a hologram, shinny and undetailed. She felt like she was looking through a dirty class at them. The brother made their way into the kitchen, all of them laughing and smiling, Matthew looked at Jess and gave her a breathtaking smile. He made his way to her and placed both his hands on the opposite side of her.“You a
Jess come out of the bathroom with Matthew’s robe around her. It was extremely big on her, she had to roll up her sleeves at least three times and the bottom of the rob hung till the floor. Joshua was busy drying his hair while the other brothers stood around him, they were all talking seriously and softly. Jess entered the room and cleared her throat.“We have decided your rules have changed. You no longer need to be always without at least one of us anymore. Instead, we will give you some tasked that you need to complete, you understand?” Raymond said and looked at Jess fidgeting with the robe’s sleeves. Jess nodded her head. Xavier moved towards Jess, he held out a note and she took it, as she pulled her hand back, Xavier grabbed her wrist and fidgeted in his pocket with his other hand. He pulled out a gold bracelet and placed it on Jess’s wrist, he turned it so that a red crystal showed.“If you are in any trouble, or you think y
“But I got get how its allowed, don’t you have like rules against those types of things?” Jessica asked Sarah as Sarah was busy doing Jess’s hair.“She is a queen and it’s her mate. How their relationship function only has to do with them, it’s not really anyone else business.” Sarah said sounding robotic. Jess couldn’t understand how no one was shocked that the queen treated her mate poorly. She knew that she was no expert, since she only found out about this world a few weeks ago and about mates even more later on and she had only read one book about mates, but in that one book it was made clear that mates were precious and something to treasure. One’s mate was your other half; it was someone who would end up completing you. How could they be so cruel to someone that made such an important difference in their lives?“It doesn’t make sense; she should love him and care for him. She should want to
Jess just laid there. Sarah and Mike tried to talk to Jess, but she couldn’t hear them, she didn’t want to. All Jess wanted, was for it all to end. Each breath she inhaled and exhaled pained her. She just wanted to close her eyes and forget, forget about maya, forget about her father. She wanted to hit the restart button; she would give anything to forget about everything. Remembering was just too hard, it’s like trying to live in a dessert with only one bottle of water for days. In some way it was most likely do able, but not without struggle, not without hardship. Jess didn’t have the energy to give to the cause anymore. She wanted to be like one of those girls in the movies she barely got to watch. She wanted to have an overdramatic stupid fight with her loving parents, run away and meet the love of her life who helps her find herself and reunite with her parents and live a long worry free live. Maybe in her next life she could only be so lucky.Jes
“Maya!” Jess yelled, her voice, cracking and breaking since it was still swollen form the last screams. Jess looked around, but she couldn’t see anything.“Maya! Where are you?” Jess continued to scream; I sigh of relieve left her when she saw a shadow from afar. Jess took a few steps forward. But halted as the shadow split to form four shadows.“Maya?” Jess whispered softly. The four shadows became clear and turned into the four brothers.“Jessica?” Matthew called out to her. Jess frown why were they here, where was her sister? The boy’s stopped a few feet away from her. The snowfall wasn’t as hard anymore, so she could see them clearly through the few small snowflakes. Jess didn’t focus on them however, her only priority was finding maya.“Where is she?” Jess called out to the brothers. They all looked at one another, before Xavier answered her.“Who? Who ar
Jess removed the loose piece of rock, revealing the pages she had hide so many months ago. She held them in her hands rereading the words that were already imprinted in her brain. One can change with the blood of love in a cup. Drink it all and make the ultimate sacrifice. A strong heart will prevail with a new beginning in a new life. The blood that pulses through the reborn will bond closer with those that have sacrificed it and internal happiness will be yours in the life on a creature of the moon. But fail and you will be met with an everlasting darkness, roaming around in the afterlife with no hope of return.Bee warned that only those with a brave heart and strong bond to those they love might survive and become one of the goddess moon children.Jessica read the page she already new by heart, she tore of the last piece of the page that held the outcome for when the ceremony is not successful and placed it back into her original hiding place. Knowing
Once Jess saw maya’s name, all the memories come rushing back, it was like a wave had crushed down on her and left her completed broken. Jess didn’t know how to fell or how to act. She wanted to cry and scream all at once, but she also felt so drained that she didn’t even know if she could stand up. She was completely lost. All her memories played at once. Xavier tormenting her in the cells, but then holding her tightly at night as the slept together. It made jess dizzy and disgusted. She honestly didn’t know what to do. The pain of Maya was still in her heart and as strong as ever. She knew that she never really saw Maya the night she jumped, but just those few seconds she wanted to believe that Maya was still alive, and that Maya was still with her, she wanted to believe that she wasn’t alone.Jess stood up from the ground and started to walk, she wasn’t sure where she was going, but she needed to get out of this house. She didn’t w
Chapter: Forty-threeThings change after Jess learned the truth of the boy’s past. She felt closer to them then before and they were more open with her as more time passed. Things were great between then. They would fall asleep in someone’s room every night, have breakfast together, always joking with one another and they spent almost the entire day together.Jess liked that she was learning herself with the boys. If it wasn’t for Matthew, Jess would have never known that she hated running and if it wasn’t for Joshua, Jess would have never known that she is great at lying when it come to sparing someone else feelings. She also learned that she really liked to make-out with very attractive men. Jess was scared that the boys would get jealous of one another if Jess spent to much time with one of the boys in particular, but they never did. They were genuinely happy for one another and didn’t mind sharing, which Jess was not go
Jess sat in the living room with all the boys. Joshua stood against the wall while Matt, Ray and Zav all sat in separate chairs. No one wanted to be the first to speak, but they knew someone had too. Jess had begged them to tell her what happened, what the incident was that everyone was keeping from her. She wanted to know, she needed to know.“You should know, the barriers around everyone’s territories where only set a few years, after this incident.” Xavier began telling the story, everyone dreaded to hear.“Our mom took us to the forest, there is a clearing we use to go to everyday just to play and hang out with her. We were in our wolf’s form running around when we picked up a strange sent, we never smelt before, by the time we ran back to the place our mom was, a gun shot went off. The bullet went through her heart and killed her instantly. Our wolves rode down in pain as our bond broke with her. We were so consumed with pain, that we
Jess, Raymond and Matthew sat in the kitchen, Jess sat on Raymond’s lap as she was rolling a piece of bread in her hands, forming a ball.“You have to catch this one, Matt.” Jess said and gave him a pointed look, before lifting her arm and throwing the bread across the room, hoping it would go into Matt’s mouth. The bread flew across the room and landed on the floor; it was nowhere near Matt’s face.“You suck at throwing, love. That wasn’t even close to my face.” Matthew laughed at Jessica. Who knew a person could be such a bad thrower even if the distance was only the width of a dining-room-table? Matthew broke off a piece of bread and rolled it into a ball as Jess huffed at Matthew’s statement. She didn’t believe that she was a bad thrower, but it was Matthew who was a bad catcher. He held up his arm ready to throw and laughed as he saw Jess shut her eyes and opened her mouth. H
Jess was so annoyed, due to her fight with the boys, she never went to eat that night, because she was determined not to see them, but since she was so angry, she couldn’t sleep that night either. She kept tossing and turning, her mind still focused on the boys. So, it was safe to say with an empty stomach and no sleep she was not in the best mood. The boys had also not gotten any sleep, their wolves desperately wanting their mates close to them like the previous night. The more Jess ignored them the more irritated they felt. So, when morning came and it was time to finally go to school, the tension was high. Jess hadn’t greeted any of the boys as she made her way to the floor below them to eat breakfast with Sarah and Mike. But none of them had an appetite with the foul mood they were in. Raymond entered the kitchen as Sarah and Mike put away their dirty dishes and instructed them to take Jess to school, because they were already leaving. Jess clenched her jaw and fist
“Wait for me.” Sarah called out as she took the steps two at a time, to reach Jess faster.“What did they send you to surveil me?” Jess asked as she crossed her eyes. Sarah laughed and rolled her eyes at Jess.“Hey, don’t act up with me, I was on your side. I told them before you came that they should speak to you about it.” Sarah said as she lifted her hands in defense.“You did? Thank you. See, I just don’t get it, if we can see that they should have talked to me first, how can’t they?” Jess said, feeling fired up. Sarah smiled again.“Duh, the answer is obvious, because they are men.” Sarah said and laughed; Jess laughed as well at her comment. Jess like Sarah, she was kind and funny.“I should have snapped at you before, I’m sorry. They just got under my skin.” Jess said, knowing her reason was stupid, but it was the truth.“Don’t
Jess woke up in the middle of the voice, her head was hurting a bit. Jess sat up in bed and was relieved to find a glass of water next to her. When she went to reach for it, she was stopped by a heavy hand that rested in hers. She followed the arm, to find that at the end of it was Matthew. He was sleeping on the ground in a sitting position, his back against her bed and the hand she held was in an uncomfortable position. She gently let go of his hand and placed it softly down on his lap. She pulled herself up and surveil the room, that was lit due to her bed-lamp that was on. Joshua was sleeping on the edge of the beds one corner, while Raymond slept on one of the bigger sofas in her room and Xavier was laying down on the fluffy mate in her room. Jess felt so bad as she remembered begging them to stay in her room, the bed had more than enough space for some of them to stay on it, but she knew they were trying to respect her privacy. She couldn’t explain how touched she was. J
“Are you really going to do this?” Xavier asked as he looked at Matthew and Raymond moving the sofa and Joshua who looked at them. Matthew was the first one who of course agreed with Jess’s plan, but strangely enough Raymond also agreed, and Joshua didn’t argue, which basically means yes to him.“Come on, Xavier. It’s going to be fun.” Jess said as she brought more blankets and pillows. He sighed and rolled his eyes, realizing that he already lost the battle.“Fine, but then I’ll need liquid courage.” Xavier said and walked out of the room only to return later with glasses in his hand and a bottle filled with a brown liquid inside. He poured some of the liquid in three glasses and handed them to his brother, before pouring himself a glass and finding a place to sit. Jess looked at all of them drinking the liquid and frowned.“What about mine?” Jess asked and looked at Xavier. He looked over
