My eyes are restless. I look back at Trence and Julia. Is she making a joke or something? I can feel the tension rising as Julia's smirk widens. Trence's expression must be more readable, leaving me unsure how to proceed.

"You girl, you are fired." I sat frozen, unsure of what just happened. Julia's words echo in my ears, and I can feel the weight of the situation sinking in.

"Can you just go home, Julia?" Trence said in annoyance.

"You already ruined my day, so get the hell out of here," Trence added, his voice growing louder with each word. Julia's smirk fades, replaced by a look of shock and anger. The tension in the room peaks as Julia storms out, leaving me and Trence alone in silence.

"Fiancee?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Trence sighs heavily, rubbing his temples as he finally meets my gaze.

"Yeah, she was my fiancee," he admits, his eyes filled with sadness and frustration. Trence reached out to comfort me, but I pulled away, needing time to process everyth

I went outside my office and rode the elevator to go to Trence's office. I saw Ms. Cobb at her table, talking to someone on her phone. As soon as she saw me, her eyes widened, and she immediately ended the call. She awkwardly smiled at me while fixing her table. "Ms. Marviz, what brings you here?" I replied with a smile. "I'm here to speak with Trence about some important matters. Is he available?" Ms. Cobb hesitated for a moment. "I'm just going to call, sir." I nodded, watching as she quickly dialed Trence's extension. After a brief conversation, she turned back to me and said, "I'm sorry, miss, but Mr. Lee is currently busy."
