I Think Your Boss Likes You

“Hey,” Sharron greeted me weakly when she opened the door. My hand was mid-air about to knock again before she opened the door. Her eyes were swollen like she cried all through the night, but she had eye patches underneath her eyes, possibly with healing effects to counter her swollen eyes. I have never been so glad to see someone and be proven wrong.

I leaped and pulled her into a tight hug, inhaling her peach and vanilla scent. One thing about her was she wasn't just going to smell good, she was always going to smell so good. Her hands hung at her sides and I was certain her expression behind me would mirror shock.

“Violet, is everything okay? What's wrong?" She asked with concern at the lingering hug. I pulled us apart slightly and took in her face, committed it to memory because the fear of thinking that she might harm herself made me realize I didn't really know the features of her face.
