-KAIZI-

I've been running in circles, which seems like hours. This is unexpected; the person I saved tonight is the villain herself. Whoever she is, I swore I will put her behind bars.

Why did Rook desperately slip that rumour anyway?

Wait, that rumour. I almost forgot that it was just a---

I heard a thud from behind making me look in that direction. Just Rook and his companions running towards me, tsk, they are darn late.

"Where is she?" Rook shouted and stopped in front of me.

"I lost her," I replied.

"Dammit! I never thought this could happen!" He shouted on top of his lungs, his reaction says it all.

I got tricked, he got tricked too by his own orchestrated trick.

Sad.

"Just like I thought," I uttered with a serious tone, getting Rook's attention.

"Like why you didn't carefully secure the place even though you thought she's going to steal the diamond..." I stopped and narrowed my eyes.

"That only means that you intentionally leaked that info never considering that she could be really into that. You're really unto abducting her for your evil plan or whatever your intention is. The rumour is just a decisive info you use as a threat for a certain person to come out." That rumour wasn't really intended for me.

He slipped that information to the police expecting them to spread it to the public but, coincidentally that I'm there, I stopped it. So in the very beginning, their plan was half destroyed.

He only gave me a laugh as a response. He combed his hair with his fingers, as he wore that same non-genuine smile.

"You want to lure her father out." I finished. He listened to everything I said without being surprised.

"You really got it all, impressive." He laughed. "The gun company had gone ahead of us," he added as his reason for his plans.

"So, then let's go to the room, maybe she's still there." Rook started running, but without four bare steps, I stopped him.

"I don't think so."

"What do you mean?" He glanced at me.

"This encounter with her is just a delusion to help someone move out safely which means someone already got the diamond before she came here, and maybe she also has gotten out of the Mansion while we are here chatting" I explained to him.

Yeah, I somewhat underestimated her and that was my mistake.

"The sentries!" Rook boomed in realization, yeah, he's right. He's not that dense after all.

"Oh well, lucky for me." He paused and smiled at me," I got to see how the best detective works,"

I started my day with less enthusiasm because I haven't got a good night sleep from the fact that I danced with her, such a dreadful night.

That's why I decided to go here, to the police station to start investigating.

I only have a week duration to solve this case. After all, it was an unsolved yet closed case so a week investigation is expected. It wasn't even considered as a cold case, what's with this country's justice system??

"Gun Company by Lander Luke Everfrost...." I read while scanning the paper. "Suspected of Serial murder----- yet never proven." I finished with a sigh.

They stopped the investigation after concluding that the Company somewhat did it, why?

According to civilians' statements, they heard gunshots once in every hour starting from 7:00 pm to 4:00 am, but two gunshots were heard in one house making it sixteen gunshots in all.

They never checked anyone in the neighbourhood that night since they thought that the gunshots were from the Gun Company, maybe trying their new invention in the middle of the night since they also got used to hearing gunshots since then.

But then, later that morning, a bothered citizen came to the police saying he found something, the very first gunshot which occurred at exactly 7:10 came inside a house.

He even said he saw someone coming out of the house, but wouldn't give any further information because of the dark night. The police later came to that house only to find a dead body lying on his bed, the same as for the 13 victims, but as for the 15th victim, found dead beside his bed.

Two bullets found at a crime scene, one is missed and the other one pierced through him. An unknown scratch on the wall caused by an unidentified sharp object maybe a knife.

The victims all live alone and all are male.

Hmm, a serial killer, maybe.

Consider the fact that they only have one suspect and the police only have a piece of limited information. This will take more than a week to solve, according to my calculations but I don't need that much time unless I have a legit source of information.

"I also thought that the 15th victim fought with the killer and the killer tried to kill the victim with a knife but for some reason, ended up killing him with a gun but why use a gun instead of the knife, if the killer has one? He probably should have known about guns being loud. That doesn't make sense, is it?" Lieutenant Danwel, stating his opinion while sitting beside me.

And why did you open that case, anyway?" He mumbled in distress "It's been a year though."

"Nothing!" I just said. It's obviously because it wasn't solved. "The bullets that were found in the victims' bodies were said to be made by the Gun Company."

"Yeah, but the Gun Company said they know nothing about it and they even said that maybe the bullets were fake. To be sure, we ran a forensic test and boom! It's indeed fake." He stated with that actions as effects.

"GC's bullets have different size and shape compared to normal bullets. So whoever tried to clone the Company's bullets ended up not noticing the metal used."

"The metal used by the Company and the metal used to kill the victims are different, huh?." I uttered in amazement, turning to the next page. "The bullets found on the bodies are made of brass that is usually used for bullet making and as to the Gun Company's, it is PURE GOLD." They're damn rich to supply the company with such a bullet but isn't the bullet too soft??

"Yeah, when you go firing off with that kind of bullet, golden gun powder should be found at the crime. By the way, the bullet that killed the last victim has a mixture of two metals. Half is normal metal and steel." Danwel informed.

"I also noticed that their bullets have different structures and functions. You see, the Company invented its own projectile. Their bullet is two-pointed with a line dividing it, compared to a normal one which is only a one-pointed projectile. The original bullet made by the Company can be divided into two, but for the fake, I can't divide it. That's why I concluded that faking it was not the intention of the killer. It seems like who made the fake one missed some information about the original one. Maybe that's why finding it was fake must have really been upsetting for the killer." he left a deep sigh.

"But the most amazing part is that the Gun Company has the guts to clear its name from such mess even if they don't need to, good is it not?" There again, is he pertaining about the permit?

"Tell me about the permit," I demanded without even leaving my gaze from what I'm reading.

He was stunned from hearing what I just said, maybe it was an unexpected question.

"I'm sorry, what permit?" he ended up asking.

It's obvious that he knows about it but why is he hiding its bizarre existence?

Such a permit higher than the LAW. So impossible to exist.

"They have two company base:1. In the middle of the town 2. By the forest" I stood up, picked up the files, planning an investigation by the side of the forest.

I need more information than this. I could ask some witnesses but I doubt its legitimacy.

"We can't go inside the Company to look for evidence since the police have been forbidden to stick their nose in Mafia's business," Danwel exclaimed to me. I watch how shock he was from what he just said himself.

There, he slipped, just like what Rook told me yesterday, about that permit. I turned my back from him and approached the door. I was about to open the door when it opened by itself.  A woman then entered the room.

"Hi!" she smiled while fixing her straight brownish hair that stops at her back.

"This is Abigail Ramcey." He introduced. "She'll be escorting you everywhere you go and also securing your life. I doubt you know where to go." He suggested, staring at me who wouldn't talk to complain.

"But remember, don't stroll too far."

The base has only one way in and out. I asked without taking MY gaze off the binoculars."Close contact..." she responded."That's why they found gun powder at all victims' faces and every shot was 'bull's eye'. I concluded and lowered my binoculars."All the 15 victims died with their heads shot," she reads." And all the crime scenes are all on the victim's bedroom. All died on the very same night."The killer meant to kill them in the same night, why?"Close contact killing only means that the killer is no p

-KAIZI-An intimidating silence somehow woke me up, damn. I can't remember anything or what even happened. I found myself lying in an office-like room. I tilted my head up to see a table and a chair and glanced down to see the door and my body, restrained with ropes, both hands, and feet.I felt a movement from my back and then heard a moan which I immediately recognized; it's only Abigail moaning in pain. I finally felt a sting of pain coming from my severed neck fresh from hitting by a wooden bat."Ouch" I gritted my teeth in pain, that's what happened. A thud came from the steel door, causing me to look at it. Following by a creaking sound as the door opens, it showed off two muscular men and in the middle, a raven-haired lady in her plain white shirt and black shorts, she is grinning at us, who is she? They entered the room individually. The woman approached the table while the two guys leaned down closer to us, removing the ropes, I shouldn't do something stupid for this time bein

-GREY-"Damn, you Psycho," Kai shouted after the guards him tossed him to the tiled floor. I signalled the guards to leave and then entered the room. I slammed the door shut, leaving us two inside. Kai looked around examining the surrounding with his eyes and I did the same, the room is concrete, darker, and narrower than before with only two chairs two meters away facing each other. The floor formed a black and white chessboard pattern. This is nostalgic."Some sort kind of Interrogation room, huh?" He sat on one of the chairs only to see me leaning my back on the door with my hands in my pocket. He guessed it right."Such a mere reason coming here just for a diamond even though you know you won't get out alive," I stated in an abstract way. "This room was supposedly a torture room for traitors, but it was locked for a long time since it hasn't been stained with blood and it hasn't witnessed a tormenting soul." Or in other words, it hasn't been used."So tell me, Kai, was that diamond

KAIZI-"Shi'ne (Go to hell/ die.)" I spat. "I forgot to ask about Abigail."I looked around examining the room while approaching my table. A white concrete wall and a single wood cabinet standing near the wall at the left side of my desk, not even a window in sight, two small light bulbs enough to light up the room. The floor is the same black and white chessboard pattern. The ceiling is made of plain timber. I saw another door made of steel far from the back of my desk and started to approach it. I reached for the doorknob, turning it open and took a glimpse inside."Of course, what do I expect, a comfort room." I narrowed my eyes, staring at the white-tiled walls, floors, and the toilet."Such weird designs and architecture." I managed to utter before closing the door and went back to my chair planning to sit for a while. I examined the wheel-chair, black cushioned-seat, and not a sign of dust. I leaned my back and relaxed my arms by its arms. What time is it, by the way? I raised my

I lazily waved back at him and closed the door behind me."You must be Mr WatshibakaThingy." A guy, maybe in his late 20's called out from the upper deck where Mr Hazel Eyes is sitting. I can feel him smirk."Call me Kai" I spoke up. That name again, I'm a little lucky to forget about it in a while. Damn, she's really into torturing me. Most especially that ba'ka means 'Idiot'."Kai huh, Kai like Kaizi Horithingy." The guy from the upper-deck blurted out again. That's me!!"Yes!!"I replied back while fighting the urge to cry. -KAIZI-"With that all kinds of jobs, how will you be promoted as an Executive?" Don't make sense, that's why."Oh, 'bout that, there are risks to encounter before you become an Executive. If you volunteer, you'll be sent off for assignments like spying, escorting preeminence, saving colleagues, and others. If you do that without dying and killing someone, you're in. These are the hardest job after all." Rald explained."That's impossible without killing even one enemy," I said with amazement. If you did, you're darn jailed."Yeah, but the Executives today did it, all right. Ask Jero since he volunteered,"--Rald.We glanced at Jero who's quietly sitting beside me."It's not that complicated since we have devices and materials used for combat like stun guns, tranquillizers, and most especially a gun." Jero finally spoke up, Awesome."What if you have enemies using guns? There are totally hundreds of them." I'm just curious about it, okay and I'm lazy to think."You just shoot them first

I cried out, with my hands stretched and my chin resting on the glass surface of the table.I can feel my heavy eyelids attempting to close but I always dream of nothing but my nightmare, being grounded. His blasphemous words are somewhat making me choose.Who cares, I'm 23 after all.Dad is suffering from depression. I remembered stopping him from attempting to commit suicide. I'm glad he found a reason to live a little longer. I hate myself because I can't help him. All I can do is to watch a terrible scene."You don't know my father. He won't approve such a thing!" Will he? "What do you want, money? You can ask nicely. And besides, you got everything." I stood up and shouted those words to him.No, I should control myself. I won't let him control me one more time."I want more than that. I want this Company and mine to be united by ma
