“You are impossible, mother.” Xavier chuckled, shaking his head.

“What I am, is grateful.” Hilda countered, getting on her feet, and picked up her purse. “I will see you soon.” She told Xavier, kissing his cheek. He frowned.

“You are not going to have a look around and give me grief at how irresponsible I am?” He asked,

“Not today baby,” Hilda breathed, patting his shoulders lightly, and turned to head towards the door.

“If I had known getting a boyfriend would save me from your dreadful monthly visits, I would have got one, years ago.” He muttered, making Hilda chuckle. She was beyond emotional.

“Don't push your luck.” She blew him a kiss, opened the door, and left without having him escort her to her, as is their norm. Left alone with Stephen, Xavier sough. Heavily.

“We did that,” he rasped, pointing at the door and gripped a fist of his hair. “We made my mum speechless.” He added with an uncertain chuckle.
