Dominique walked up to me and looked into my eyes. It was almost as if she was looking straight into my soul. She placed her hand on the side of my face and kissed me. When she broke the kiss, she tilted her head and guided my head down to her neck. I hesitated at first but then plunged my fangs into her neck. I began to drink from her. I began to drink deeply when I tasted her blood, and a groan left me. I was going to have her with me forever. But something was wrong. Her blood was wrong. I jerked back as I realized it was not just her blood that I was tasting. Dominique stumbled and gasped in pain. Her hand flew up to her neck to cover the wound, which was still bleeding. I flew into a rage and punched a hole into the wall. Then, I started throwing things around. I had waited so long, so long to finally have her. “Nathaniel! What in the hell is wrong with you?” Dominique yelled. I tried to calm down, but my rage was taking over. I finally had my long-lost love back; now, she w
I woke up as night fell. I instantly knew that Dominique was no longer with me. I sighed as I sat up. I got in the shower, dressed, went to the third floor, and got a pack of blood out of the refrigerator. After tasting Dominique’s blood, it wasn’t the same. I had never cared for the prepackaged blood from the blood bank, but you have to do what you have to do. Occasionally, I would go out and catch an unsuspecting victim and have fresh blood. However, I usually didn’t do that as I tried hiding in the shadows. Wolves were abundant because they were born. Vampires were created, and they usually didn’t make many. I could make my own bloodline if I wanted to, but I had never felt the need to do it. I only wanted one person by my side, and she died. When her soul was first reborn, I remember the shock I felt from it. My existence had been just that for 100 years, just existing. I wanted all the women I had found to be with me forever, but I couldn’t turn them into a monster like me. I
“So, was she okay with being your eyes and ears during the day? Is that what she truly wanted?” “I will let you speak to her, Nathaniel. If she wishes to tell you, then she will.” “Thank you.” “Nathaniel, how are you?” Veronica asked. “I’m well, Veronica. How are you?” “I’ve been well. I have overheard Barnaby’s side of the conversation. He says that you wish to ask me something. Have you finally found her, Nathaniel?”“Yes, but she is pregnant. I can not ask her to give up her child. She is willing to be with me, but I’m not sure she will be after she thinks about it for a while. I wish to offer this option to her if that is what she decides. However, I want to know what it is like from the human servant’s perspective first,” I replied. “I can understand, Nathaniel. I am very happy for you. I know you have searched for this for a long time. I will tell you that I was terrified of being a human servant at first. When I found out what Barnaby was, I was terrified. I had grown f
I looked up when I heard Dominique coming down the hall. When I saw her, I had to school myself to be blank. But that didn’t stop me from looking her over, knowing she had nothing on under that towel. My hunger for her was intense tonight. Finally, I looked up and saw her lips curve into a smile. So she had seen me looking at her and figured out what I was thinking anyway. “I put the clothes for you in the dresser in the room you always stay in.” “Okay. I’ll change in a bit. I’ll just eat first since I’m already here anyway.” “I can’t tell if you are trying to tease me by staying wrapped in only a towel or if you genuinely just want to eat first.” “Maybe it’s both,” Dominique laughed. She sat down and started eating the sandwich I had made for her. The way she was eating, I was sure she was still hungry after the first sandwich, so I made her another one. She began to eat as my phone rang. I looked at the number and frowned. I wasn’t sure who it was. I excused myself and walked
“Nathaniel, I want to be with you. I chose you, but I can’t give my life up because of the baby. You were right when you said I would choose the baby over you. I will in the sense that I’m not going to let you turn me while I’m pregnant. I’ve thought about this and don’t want to miss out on my baby’s life. I just don’t think I can become a creature of the night and not be able to see all the things my child will do during the day. I’m willing to do this later on when my child is older, but then I will be older too, and I don’t know if I want to look like that while you stay looking so young.” “Dominique, you do not have to make a decision right now. However, I will give you another option I did not intend to give you. I can make it to where you will never age. You can still be killed, but you will be harder to hurt. You will still be alive and able to do everything you do now because you will still be human. My only question is, are you still willing to choose me, or are you reconsi
I awoke the next night and still felt Dominique and Tim in the house. I was glad they hadn’t left. I still wasn’t particularly fond of Tim being in my home, but he could protect Dominique when I couldn’t. Having a busted-up wolf to protect you was better than nothing. By now, he should be almost completely healed with the level of power I felt from him last night. I grabbed my phone and was preparing to head upstairs when I looked at the screen. I had a voicemail from Nicholas. I listened to it and began to scramble up the steps. This was not good. I moved towards the room just as I heard Dominique asking Tim not to go and saying she would talk to me about it. “No one is leaving,” I said as I entered the room. I saw Dominique in Tim’s lap and frowned. She had asked me what I would do if she spent her life with Tim, but I had hoped she would change her mind. I was tired of waiting for her to come to me, but if it came to her leaving me altogether, I would have to wait. Dominique m
Dominique pressed into me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I landed on the ground and started to run. I knew my speed would affect Dominique, but there was nothing for it now. We had to move as the wolves were howling as they came after us. I picked up my speed as I felt the wolf gaining on us when another wolf rammed it into the ground out of nowhere. I was thankful. Nicholas’s wolves were fighting. “Nicholas said some of his wolves were already here. They must be trying to keep Jacob’s pack at bay. I do not believe many here belong to Nicholas, but hopefully, it will be enough for me to get you to safety.” “Nathaniel, you must put me down and get out of here. I’m slowing you down. It can’t be easy to run while carrying my weight.” “I’m not leaving you, Dominique. But, if something happens to you, I won’t be able to live with it or without you. So, if I should die today, I will die happy as I was able to have my second chance with the woman I loved,” I said as I looked at he
“Dominique, open your eyes, and look at me right now!” I yelled at her.Dominique opened her eyes and looked right into mine. I was so angry that I couldn’t contain it. I wanted her to see it. I wanted her to be afraid of me at that moment. I needed her to listen to me and do what I said. I had enough anger to kill all the wolves after what she had just done. “I have to fight. I saw Nicholas’ pack not too long ago. They should be in the fight now. The only wolf I see right now is Jacob. I’m going to leave you here. I will hurt you if you even attempt to jump off this limb or move. Do you understand me?” “Y-yes,” Dominique stammered. I let her slowly lower herself onto the tree limb while holding on to me. Once she was sitting on it with her hands planted firmly on the tree limb, I jumped to the next limb and saw Jacob turn his attention to me. I smiled as I jumped to another tree. That irritated Jacob. He may want Dominique, but he wanted me more. He ran after me as I jumped onto
“Yes. I have heard you tell Nathaniel that the voice sounds like a mixture of mine and Alpha’s. That is why. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, Dom. But you had to have known. The things I have said have been from a man’s point of view. Alpha was Luna’s mate, yes, but he thinks of you as his mate and would talk to you as his mate. I’m talking to you as your husband would. Please don’t feel bad about this, Dom. I feel lucky that I have spent this extra time with you.”I couldn’t help it. I started to cry. I had wondered about the voice but hoped I was wrong. I’d held Tim’s soul in that stone all this time. He hadn’t been at peace but had been trapped in a stone. The kids would never forgive me if they found out the truth. I wasn’t sure if I could forgive myself at this point. I was so selfish.
I walked over to where the driver was placing my bags onto a luggage trolley and took my wallet from my purse. I handed him 20 euros, and he thanked me. I smiled and walked back to the desk. The clerk gave me the room key and my ID. I thanked him and walked over to the elevator. The porter got on with me, and we went to the room. He must have thought it odd that I didn’t give him the bag from my back, but I ignored his strange looks. Once we got to the room, he unloaded the luggage onto the luggage racks, and I tipped him. He smiled and thanked me before exiting the room. I placed the bag on the bed and put my purse on the nightstand. The curtains were wide open, so I walked over to the windows and closed them. The room wasn’t pitch dark, but the sun wasn’t hitting directly on the bed. I walked over and unzipped the bag.
I woke up when the announcement about our landing came on. I was still cuddling Nathaniel in the bag. I sighed and sat up. I walked over to the seats and hooked my seatbelt. Once the plane landed, I grabbed the bag from the couch and was surprised it didn’t feel heavy. I must still have my strength, but it was awkward when I first tried lifting the bag. I put my hand in my pocket and felt the stone. I felt the energy coming off it and knew it would be glowing if I took it out. I didn’t realize how much it hurt Nathaniel that I always had the stone. I thought he understood that it was a part of Tim and that I wasn’t ready to let go of Tim just yet. I suppose being with him in every way that mattered in a relationship made him
“You could have offered to let me be your human servant and then allowed me to live my life with Tim, but you didn’t. Instead, you took what you wanted without a second thought about what I would think or feel about it. That made me angry, and I wanted to hurt you, so I went to Tim. I chose him automatically. If I had been rational about the situation, I would have sat you both down and had a conversation about it all, but I didn’t.” “Then I cut you out completely later on. I had no reason to do that as Tim knew I wasn’t with you and that I was being faithful to him. But I wanted him to be positive about it, and frankly, I wasn’t sure if I could be completely faithful if I continued to have a relationship with you. I always thought about you and had to push those thoughts and feelings away while I was with Tim.&
“Are you excited, Dominique?” I asked. “Very. I can’t wait to get there and meet Barnaby and Victoria. I also can’t wait to see your home and for you to show me places I know I didn’t see when I came to England the last time.” “When you came to England before, did you feel my presence more than usual?” “I felt like you were closer, but I was always trying to ignore the pull I had to find you. I wanted to enjoy being here with Tim.” I could tell something was off with Dominique when she mentioned Tim, but I tried to ignore it. This was our vacation, and I was grateful she took it with me. I had asked her to leave the stone at home, and she had been reluctant to agree, but she eventually said she would. I watched her body language and how she kept her hand in her jacket pocket. Had she actually left it? “Dominique, what are you hiding?” “I don’t know what you mean.” I tapped into her thoughts and she was thinking about miscellaneous things. This made me even more suspicious. Sh
“Any interesting conversations so far? It’s been a few weeks,” Ewan said. Carson looked at Ewan and responded, “The vampire had a conversation with someone named Nathaniel about coming to England. I think it’s the other vampire we have been looking for. It would explain why we could never find him no matter where we looked. He hasn’t even been here. He did mention that he couldn’t wait to see him and Dominique.” “Did you say Nathaniel?” Ewan asked rather excitedly. “Yes, sir. Is there some significance to that name?”
Dominique began to sway her body against mine. I mimicked her movements and began to take my shirt off. I slowly unbuttoned my shirt as I rolled my hips. Her hands slid down my chest and pulled it free from my pants. I grinned and showed her my fangs as she slid the shirt off my shoulders. I winked at her and gently pushed her back onto the bed.I slowly reached for the fastening on my slacks and unhooked it. I knew by her scent that she was getting turned on. However, I refused to let her touch me. I slowly moved away from the bed while unzipping my slacks. I rolled my slacks down over my hips while revealing tight black briefs.Glancing up at Dominique, I noticed her looking down at the bulge in my briefs. She slowly looked at me, licking her lips. I can see the pulse point at the base of her neck fluttering, and
“I’m sure they will, Dominique. I just wonder sometimes if you will be happy with me after a hundred years together. I know it won’t be easy since you are still not used to sleeping with me. I hope to overcome that obstacle one day and get you into a sleep pattern that allows us to be together.”“Sometimes, we will need to be apart so we don’t get sick of each other. I can always go out alone and spend some time with myself. Then we won’t get tired of being together or run out of things to say.”“You will come to realize that we don’t need to say anything for me to be happy to be with you. Our bond makes us want to be around each other all the time. You will feel the distance and the urge to return to me when you are away from me. I do not expect you to do this, but I want you to know.”
“Dominique, I want to review the plan again to ensure we have it down.” “Okay, Nathaniel. It’s pretty straightforward, though, so I don’t think we need to.” “I just want to make sure you are okay with the plan. There can’t be any mistakes, and I need to know that you can handle my weight.” “Right before you pass out for the day, you will slip into a duffle bag that is big enough to curl up in. Then when we arrive in England, I will take the bag with me as my luggage. There will be a car waiting for us, and I will give them the instructions on how to get to your house. Once we are there, I will place you in the bedroom where you can wake up refreshed. But won’t they check our luggage?” “No. All luggage is checked before you leave. They will just think you grabbed your luggage. I worry that you can not carry me. You no longer have the strength of your wolf.” “I’m still stronger than the average human thanks to being your servant.” “It must look like you have a regular bag, not on
