Dominique pressed into me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I landed on the ground and started to run. I knew my speed would affect Dominique, but there was nothing for it now. We had to move as the wolves were howling as they came after us. I picked up my speed as I felt the wolf gaining on us when another wolf rammed it into the ground out of nowhere. I was thankful. Nicholas’s wolves were fighting. “Nicholas said some of his wolves were already here. They must be trying to keep Jacob’s pack at bay. I do not believe many here belong to Nicholas, but hopefully, it will be enough for me to get you to safety.” “Nathaniel, you must put me down and get out of here. I’m slowing you down. It can’t be easy to run while carrying my weight.” “I’m not leaving you, Dominique. But, if something happens to you, I won’t be able to live with it or without you. So, if I should die today, I will die happy as I was able to have my second chance with the woman I loved,” I said as I looked at he
“Dominique, open your eyes, and look at me right now!” I yelled at her.Dominique opened her eyes and looked right into mine. I was so angry that I couldn’t contain it. I wanted her to see it. I wanted her to be afraid of me at that moment. I needed her to listen to me and do what I said. I had enough anger to kill all the wolves after what she had just done. “I have to fight. I saw Nicholas’ pack not too long ago. They should be in the fight now. The only wolf I see right now is Jacob. I’m going to leave you here. I will hurt you if you even attempt to jump off this limb or move. Do you understand me?” “Y-yes,” Dominique stammered. I let her slowly lower herself onto the tree limb while holding on to me. Once she was sitting on it with her hands planted firmly on the tree limb, I jumped to the next limb and saw Jacob turn his attention to me. I smiled as I jumped to another tree. That irritated Jacob. He may want Dominique, but he wanted me more. He ran after me as I jumped onto
I woke up to find myself in a dark room. My body was tired, and I needed blood. I slowly moved into a sitting position and realized I was on a bed in some hospital room. I didn’t see any windows whatsoever. I smelled a faint trace of wolf. I assumed I was in a werewolf hospital. I wasn’t sure how long I had been here. I moved off the bed and immediately hit the floor as my body was wracked with pain. I lay there for hours before finally mustering the strength to crawl towards the door. I banged on it with everything I had, but no one came. I called out but heard nothing in response. I thought Nicholas and I had a truce. Why was he doing this to me? I lay there for what seemed like days. I didn’t even die for the day. What was happening? I could feel myself going mad. I heard voices from the past. I started seeing images from my past. They were so real, and I began to talk to Rose. I kept reliving my death and the anger I felt toward Rose. My body was breaking down without blood t
I pulled back and began to feel pain in my side and stomach. I doubled over, and my knees hit the floor. Nicholas stepped back as I screamed in pain. My wounds were starting to close at a rapid rate. My body was re-knitting itself from the inside out, and it was a horrible pain. Without blood for the past two days, my body had not dealt with the damage Jacob had caused. My body was on fire. Dominique’s body began to jerk, and I realized her body was going through the same pain as mine. What had I done? I had sealed her fate and bound her to me without her permission. I had only felt angry at her for leaving me for Tim in my haze. I hadn’t been able to snap out of it. She was pregnant. Could the baby survive the torment that was happening to my body right now? Would her body allow it? As I healed, I slumped on the ground as the pain roared through me. I saw Nicholas walk over to Dominique and hold her body down. After ten minutes, I was finally healed. I lay on the ground for a fe
The next night when I awoke, I felt for Dominique. She was asleep, so I went into her mind. I created a dream world for her so we could talk and she could see me. I wasn’t sure if it would be easier for her or not. I hoped she had gotten over her anger, but I was sure she would have it for a long time. I created a room with a bed covered with black, gossamer curtains. I laid down and sent the dream to her. Dominique walked up to the bed and pulled the curtain back. “Nathaniel? Where are we? And how did we get here?” Dominique asked. “We are in your dream, my love. I came to you like this as I did not think you would want to see me. Don’t worry. Nothing bad can happen to you here,” I said as I stood up. I walked over and enveloped her in my arms. I felt the sadness taking me over and knew I was projecting it. I felt her hug me as the pull between us became more forceful. I kissed her cheek and put my head on top of hers. I just wanted to hold her for a minute more. “Dominique, I
I got off Nicholas’s land and went back to my home. It was nothing more than a shell except for the garage. Everything I owned had been in that house. I had always moved everything with me because I didn’t own much. I had other cars in other areas, and my finances were in banks, so I was still okay financially. It was the emotional things I had lost. I went to where the garage used to be. This was going to be a mess to clean up. My anger took over again, and I went hunting. After a few hours, I headed to the club. Melissa should be there by now, or I was hoping she was. I ran most of the way. I was moving too fast for anyone to see me. The club still had a closed sign on it, but Melissa’s car was parked in the back. I knocked on the back door, and after a few minutes, she opened it. She had me come in and
I walked out into the reception. I could feel the wolves’ eyes on me. So many of them looked at me with hate in their eyes, but I didn’t care. I wasn’t here for them. I was here for the woman I loved. I knew it would be torture to hold her close and then let her go, but I had to. I heard a low growl come from Tim as he felt my approach. He could get over it since he had won, after all. I tapped him on the shoulder. “Tim, Dominique, congratulations on your marriage. Tim, I was hoping for a dance with the bride, if you don’t mind.” Tim looked at Dominique. She smiled at him, and I knew they were communicating silently. Tim wasn’t happy, but he stepped back and let me take Dominique into my arms. Dominique placed her hand on mine as her other hand
“Can you take our Luna to her bedroom? I will clean up this mess and be in to check on her.” “Yeah, I can do that. Do you know where her bedroom is?” I asked. “I’ll take her. She is my wife, after all,” I heard Tim say as he walked in. He had a scowl on his face as he saw me standing in his kitchen. That is until he saw what everything looked like. He frowned as he saw what looked like a murder scene around Dominique. “What the hell happened?” he asked.
“I just can’t wrap my head around how he will split his soul from Tim’s without the stone. Tim’s whole plan was to trap Alpha’s soul in the stone, and his soul would move on. That didn’t happen, though.” “If the Moon Goddess selected an original Alpha’s soul for Tim, then she had a reason. This must have been it. I can’t think of another reason for it.” “Or it was because she saw who he would choose for a mate and knew I couldn’t change by a mere bite. If that were the case, then that psycho would have changed me with what he did. I think my connection to you didn’t allow me to change any other way.”
When I woke up, I stretched out without thinking about it. I was surprised to find that I was no longer in the bag. Dominique didn’t even like to sleep in the bed with me because I was cold when I died for the day. She had overcome her fear enough to take me out of the bag, which required touching me. I knew before I even opened my eyes that she was not in the bed with me. I sighed and sat up. The room I was in was dark, but I heard the sounds of a TV show playing. I smelled food, so Dominique must be in the suite's living room. I got up and realized it was so dark in the room because the sun was setting, and blackout curtains were hanging up. Dominique must have brought them with her as I saw the hooks on the wall holding them up. I had not thought about doing this. It was thoughtful of Dominique.
“Yes. I have heard you tell Nathaniel that the voice sounds like a mixture of mine and Alpha’s. That is why. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, Dom. But you had to have known. The things I have said have been from a man’s point of view. Alpha was Luna’s mate, yes, but he thinks of you as his mate and would talk to you as his mate. I’m talking to you as your husband would. Please don’t feel bad about this, Dom. I feel lucky that I have spent this extra time with you.”I couldn’t help it. I started to cry. I had wondered about the voice but hoped I was wrong. I’d held Tim’s soul in that stone all this time. He hadn’t been at peace but had been trapped in a stone. The kids would never forgive me if they found out the truth. I wasn’t sure if I could forgive myself at this point. I was so selfish.
I walked over to where the driver was placing my bags onto a luggage trolley and took my wallet from my purse. I handed him 20 euros, and he thanked me. I smiled and walked back to the desk. The clerk gave me the room key and my ID. I thanked him and walked over to the elevator. The porter got on with me, and we went to the room. He must have thought it odd that I didn’t give him the bag from my back, but I ignored his strange looks. Once we got to the room, he unloaded the luggage onto the luggage racks, and I tipped him. He smiled and thanked me before exiting the room. I placed the bag on the bed and put my purse on the nightstand. The curtains were wide open, so I walked over to the windows and closed them. The room wasn’t pitch dark, but the sun wasn’t hitting directly on the bed. I walked over and unzipped the bag.
I woke up when the announcement about our landing came on. I was still cuddling Nathaniel in the bag. I sighed and sat up. I walked over to the seats and hooked my seatbelt. Once the plane landed, I grabbed the bag from the couch and was surprised it didn’t feel heavy. I must still have my strength, but it was awkward when I first tried lifting the bag. I put my hand in my pocket and felt the stone. I felt the energy coming off it and knew it would be glowing if I took it out. I didn’t realize how much it hurt Nathaniel that I always had the stone. I thought he understood that it was a part of Tim and that I wasn’t ready to let go of Tim just yet. I suppose being with him in every way that mattered in a relationship made him
“You could have offered to let me be your human servant and then allowed me to live my life with Tim, but you didn’t. Instead, you took what you wanted without a second thought about what I would think or feel about it. That made me angry, and I wanted to hurt you, so I went to Tim. I chose him automatically. If I had been rational about the situation, I would have sat you both down and had a conversation about it all, but I didn’t.” “Then I cut you out completely later on. I had no reason to do that as Tim knew I wasn’t with you and that I was being faithful to him. But I wanted him to be positive about it, and frankly, I wasn’t sure if I could be completely faithful if I continued to have a relationship with you. I always thought about you and had to push those thoughts and feelings away while I was with Tim.&
“Are you excited, Dominique?” I asked. “Very. I can’t wait to get there and meet Barnaby and Victoria. I also can’t wait to see your home and for you to show me places I know I didn’t see when I came to England the last time.” “When you came to England before, did you feel my presence more than usual?” “I felt like you were closer, but I was always trying to ignore the pull I had to find you. I wanted to enjoy being here with Tim.” I could tell something was off with Dominique when she mentioned Tim, but I tried to ignore it. This was our vacation, and I was grateful she took it with me. I had asked her to leave the stone at home, and she had been reluctant to agree, but she eventually said she would. I watched her body language and how she kept her hand in her jacket pocket. Had she actually left it? “Dominique, what are you hiding?” “I don’t know what you mean.” I tapped into her thoughts and she was thinking about miscellaneous things. This made me even more suspicious. Sh
“Any interesting conversations so far? It’s been a few weeks,” Ewan said. Carson looked at Ewan and responded, “The vampire had a conversation with someone named Nathaniel about coming to England. I think it’s the other vampire we have been looking for. It would explain why we could never find him no matter where we looked. He hasn’t even been here. He did mention that he couldn’t wait to see him and Dominique.” “Did you say Nathaniel?” Ewan asked rather excitedly. “Yes, sir. Is there some significance to that name?”
Dominique began to sway her body against mine. I mimicked her movements and began to take my shirt off. I slowly unbuttoned my shirt as I rolled my hips. Her hands slid down my chest and pulled it free from my pants. I grinned and showed her my fangs as she slid the shirt off my shoulders. I winked at her and gently pushed her back onto the bed.I slowly reached for the fastening on my slacks and unhooked it. I knew by her scent that she was getting turned on. However, I refused to let her touch me. I slowly moved away from the bed while unzipping my slacks. I rolled my slacks down over my hips while revealing tight black briefs.Glancing up at Dominique, I noticed her looking down at the bulge in my briefs. She slowly looked at me, licking her lips. I can see the pulse point at the base of her neck fluttering, and
