Chapter Five : Nice

"You are really not going to eat it" Freddie sighed, after much persuasion from both Freddie and Flora, Kathy still refused to eat the pancakes.

"Yeah so stop trying and take the food away" Kathy rolled her eyes.

"Fine, Flora let's go" Freddie said and stood up from the bed, Flora also stood up and they both walked out of the room.

"Am so hungry right now but I can't eat that food" Kathy pouted and hugged the pillow to herself.

The kids went downstairs and met Sylvia sitting on the couch.

"Aunt Sylvia, she didn't eat it" Freddie said and Sylvia looked at them, she was watching film.

"It's fine, you guys can still have the pancakes" Sylvia smiled sadly.

"Really!" They beamed.

"Yeah, give me the food, maybe Kathy will eat it later" Sylvia said and collected the plate from Freddie.

"Can we have the pancakes now" Freddie licked his lips.

"Yes, it is on the dining table" 

"Okay" they both ran towards the dining and Sylvia took the food to the kitchen.

7:09 PM

Dinner was ready and Sylvia was setting the food on the table. When she was done she called out for the kids who were in the sitting room watching cartoon "Dinner is ready"

"Okay" Freddie replied from the sitting room and quickly rushed to the dining with Flora running after him, they took their seats.

"Am coming, let me go and call Kathy" Sylvia told them and went upstairs to Kathy's room. She knocked on the door.

"Kathy, dinner is ready" she said.

 "I'm not hungry" Kathy said from inside.

"Come on Kathy you didn't eat lunch now you won't eat dinner? Don't starve yourself and come downstairs to eat, please" Sylvia pleaded.

"I'm not eating, let me be" Kathy replied and Sylvia sighed and went back downstairs, Damien walked in. 

"Where is Kathy?" he asked.

"She is in her room" Sylvia replied.

"Why?"

"I tried to call her downstairs for dinner but she declined and she has not eaten lunch also even after much persuasion" Sylvia said and he bit his lips then walked upstairs to her room.

"Kathy" he called but he got no response.

"Kathy" he called again and tried opening the door but it was locked.

"Open your door" he said and waited for a response but got none, soon the door opened revealing Kathy and he walked inside.

"Kathy, I heard you did not have lunch and you are planning on not having dinner, why?" he asked.

"I don't want to eat her food" she replied and he bent down to her level.

"Why?" he asked.

"Cause I don't want a nanny" Kathy pouted.

"I understand that you don't want a nanny but please eat" he muttered.

"No" she shakes her head.

"You don't want to eat, then do you want daddy to be sad? do you also want your mummy to be sad up there?" he asked.

"No" she said.

"Then follow me downstairs and let's have dinner" he said and she nodded, he took her hand and led her out of the room.

"Thought you said you are not hungry" Freddie teased Kathy who was just entering the dining with her dad.

"I'm not" she snapped but her stomach rumbled and Damien chuckled.

"Dad you are laughing" Kathy frowned.

"I'm not, baby" Damien quickly sobered up and sat down, Kathy also sat down and Sylvia started serving the food, when she was done she stood aside and watched them.

"Aren't you eating?" Damien asked.

"No I..."

"Sit and eat with us" Damien cut her off.

"No need for that sir" Sylvia said nervously.

"Sit"

"Uh okay" Sylvia said and sat down on one of the chairs, she served herself and they all started eating.

When they were done, Sylvia took the plates to the kitchen and had them washed, she then went to Flora's room and seeing it was opened, she walked in and met her sitting on the bed.

"Hey Flora" she smiled.

"Hi"

"I've you had your bath?" Sylvia asked.

"No, I don't bath myself" Flora replied.

"Okay, let me bath you, where is your bathroom" Sylvia asked and Flora pointed at a door in the room.

"Okay let's go" Sylvia smiled and carried her to the bathroom, she started bathing for her and when she was done, she took her out and wore a pink pyjamas for her then laid her on her bed.

"Do you have any bedtime story book?" Sylvia asked.

"Yes but I don't want to listen to any of them" Flora muttered in her little tiny voice.

"And why is that?" Sylvia furrowed her brows.

"They are all old and I've heard them like a hundred times" Flora exaggerated and sat up.

"Hmm should I sing a song?" Sylvia asked.

"Okay" Flora shrugged.

"Little night, shining stars..." Sylvia started singing one of the songs her mum used to sing to her when she was still young and Flora laid her head on Sylvia's lap. Some seconds later Flora fell asleep and Sylvia laid her very well on the bed then covered her with the duvet, she switched off the lights and went out of the room then head to Freddie's room, she knocked on his door and opened it.

"Hey Freddie" Sylvia smiled and Freddie looked at her.

"Why are you not sleeping?" she asked.

"I'm finding it hard to sleep" he replied.

"Hmm okay why don't you lay on my laps" Sylvia said and walked to his bed and sat down beside him.

"Come on" she gestured for him to lay his head on her laps, he stared at her for a while before moving closer and then laid his head on her laps then she started stroking his head. It didn't take long before he closed his eyes and slept off, she kept stroking his head and when she was sure he was sleeping deeply, she laid him properly on his bed and switched off the lights then she walked out of the room and went to Kathy's room.

When she got there, Kathy was already asleep and Sylvia walked closer to her and smiled.

 "Stubborn but cute" she thought and touched her hair, Kathy stirred in her sleep and Sylvia quickly withdrew her hand and went out of the room. She started walking to her room but stopped when she saw the light was on in Damien's room, she started walking to it but she stopped.

"What am I doing" she thought and started walking to her room. She got in, took off her clothes then walked to the bathroom, she had her bath and came out of the bathroom then she walked to the closet, picked a blue pyjamas and put it on then she walked to her bed and laid on it. It didn't take long before she slept off.

Next Morning, 6:05 am

Sylvia woke up from sleep and yawned, she stood up from the bed and went to the bathroom, she did her morning routine then came out. She picked a red free yard short gown and wore it then she walked out of her room and head downstairs to the kitchen.

Standing, she thought of what to make and she decided to make omelette for breakfast and Pasta with pepper sauce for lunch, so she got to work.

She finished cooking when it was 7:03am, so she went upstairs to Flora's room, she was already awake and was just sitting on the bed.

"Good morning, cute Flora" Sylvia smiled.

"Good morning" Flora giggled and Sylvia went to her.

"Now let's bath you" Sylvia chuckled and carried her from the bed, took off her pyjamas and walked to the bathroom, she put her in the bathtub and started bathing her while Flora giggled. When Sylvia had bath her finish, she took her to the room and dressed her up in her uniform and her shoes then she styled her hair.

"Now look at my pretty Flora" Sylvia smiled.

"Really" Flora giggled and turned around.

"Yeah" Sylvia answered and Flora rushed out of the room and Sylvia went out also and walked to Freddie's room. She knocked on the door.

"Come in" Freddie said from inside and she walked in.

"Hey Freddie" Sylvia said and Freddie looked up from what he was doing.

"Hi" he muttered and went back to what he was doing, he was trying to knot his tie but it seems he is having difficulty in fixing the tie so Sylvia walked to him and helped him knot it.

"Thanks" he said and she nodded.

"Get your things and come downstairs for breakfast" Sylvia said and he smiled.

"Okay" he said and she walked out of the room and went to Kathy's. She knocked on the door, "Come in" Kathy said from inside and Sylvia opened the door and went in.

"Good morning Kathy" Anna smiled but Kathy ignored her.

"Let me help you" Sylvia said when she saw that Kathy was trying to style her hair but didn't get it.

"I don't need your help" Kathy snapped and Sylvia twitched her lips but she still went to Kathy, she collected the hair brush from her.

"Why did you do that" Kathy frowned and tried collecting the brush from Sylvia but she stretched her hand up so Kathy was not able to collect it.

"Stay still and let me do what I want to do" Sylvia said and started styling her hair.

After some minutes, they were done and Kathy smiled when she saw her hair through the mirror, this was what she wanted to do.

"Do you like it?" Sylvia asked and Kathy stopped smiling.

"No I don't" Kathy snapped and took her bag from the bed then walked out of the room and Anna chuckled and followed her.

When they got downstairs, Damien, Flora and Freddie were already downstairs.

"Good morning sir" Sylvia greeted Damien.

"Good morning" Damien simply replied and sat down on a chair in the dining.

"Wow Kathy, your hair looks nice, did you do it yourself?" He asked looking at her hair.

"Yes I..." Kathy was saying when Sylvia cut her off.

"I did sir" she said and Kathy looked at her but she only smiled. 

"That's nice" Damien smiled and Sylvia nodded and started serving breakfast. When she was done, she stood aside.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Damien asked.

"No, I've got to pack the kids food" she replied and he nodded. Sylvia went into the kitchen and started packing their food.

When she was done, they had already finished eating breakfast.

"I would be going to work now, Greg will take you and the kids to school" Damien said to Sylvia and she nodded then he bade his kids goodbye and walked out of the house.

Sylvia took the plates to the kitchen but didn't wash them, she would wash them when she was back cause she wouldn't want the kids to be late for school.

"Let's go" she said and they all went out of the mansion to the car where Greg was already waiting for them.

"Good morning" Sylvia greeted him.

"Good morning" Greg replied.

"Won't you greet him?" Sylvia asked the kids.

"Morning" Flora and Freddie mumbled but Kathy only hissed and got into the car, the rest followed her and Sylvia furrowed her brows but she just shrugged and went into the car, Greg also got in and drove the car out of the mansion.
