Chapter 4: Are You Fooling Me Now?

Lendon smirked. “You are smart, aren’t you?” Lendon grabbed Kendra’s chin and sneered, “Are you fooling me now? Woman, don't you dare. You pretended that you forgot what happened one month ago and then faked your pregnancy. I will let you know how I will punish you,” Lendon kissed Kendra again.

“No! No!” Kendra struggled and shouted.

“It’s too late! You came to me first!” Lendon said savagely and locked Kendra in his arms.

Kendra wanted to defend herself, but she couldn’t. She didn’t like the feeling that she was controlled. When Lendon took her body up again, Kendra felt such pain and passed out.

“Alexis, why does this girl lose the smell? What are you doing? Can you heal me or not?” Lendon stared at the doctor, who was busy experimenting and asked arrogantly. He sat on the sofa and seemed impatient.

“Lendon, please don’t question my profession. It’s not easy to find a girl who can control the wolf poison inside your body. I can’t be wrong.” Alexis said while doing an experiment. He wore a doctor’s overall and a pair of white gloves, looking professional and handsome.

“But she seemed to forget what happened one month ago. Was she lying? Or maybe she is not the one we are looking for?” Lendon asked impatiently. Kendra’s denial made him doubt himself.

“Are you doubting yourself?” Alexis turned around and asked, surprisingly.

“How is that possible?” Lendon is afraid to accept his weakness. He glanced at Alexis and retorted. “It’s just I didn’t see her face clearly that night. I just remembered her smell. And I am unsure right now. This crazy woman denied that she knew me,”

Alexis took his gloves off, picked up his apparatus, and walked to him. “Let’s see how it is going inside your body now.”

Lendon agreed and stretched his arm out.

Alexis helped Lendon wear the testing apparatus and started it. Ten minutes later, he stared at the screen and frowned, then sighed.

“It shouldn’t be,” Alexis said.

“What’s going on?” Lendon asked coldly.

“According to the data, the wolf poison is not controlled. Instead, it increased rapidly.” Alexis answered honestly.

“What?!” Lendon stood up immediately and asked. However, the apparatus restrained his move, so he ripped it off annoyingly and shouted, “What the hell are you doing? You can’t even find a girl to cure me?”

Alexis looked at his apparatus and felt heartbroken. “We have checked her several times. This girl is the right one.” He managed to answer calmly.

“But you don’t know why she can’t help me this time, right?” Lendon glared at Alexis and asked.

Alexis trembled and nodded. When Lendon got angry, he was even more horrible than a wolf. He's a typical tyrant duke. 

“Maybe only a virgin woman can help you control the poison inside your body, Lendon?” Alexis's voice was a bit scared.

“I am not paying you a huge amount of money to ask me questions!” Lendon shouted in anger, “Since you insist this girl is the one, I can give you three more days. Find out the reason, or I will blow your lab!” He left the lab and slammed the door.

Alexis wiped his sweaty forehead and sighed helplessly. He was a DVM, and now he needed to do an experiment for a man! How embarrassing it is!

An electric current passed through Kendra’s body, and she woke up. When she opened her eyes slowly, she saw another strange room. Where was she now? Kendra saw test tubes, alcohol burner, evaporating dish, iron support, beaker, and measuring cylinder. Was she in a lab? How did she come here?

Kendra wanted to get up, but as soon as she moved a little, she pulled many strings that stuck in her body. She felt so hurt and screamed.

“Don’t move. I am running several tests on you.” A man's voice came to her ears.

Kendra looked ahead and saw a tall man walking toward her. He wore a clean white gown and smiled, looking so warm. Kendra didn’t expect to see such a handsome man inside the room. The man seemed so gentle and friendly. Kendra liked this type of person; shyness filled her cheeks, and she blushed thoroughly.

“Miss Miller. Why does your face turn red?” Alexis stared at Kendra and asked curiously.

“I, I just feel hot,” Kendra said. Her heartbeats quickened.

“You are so cute.” Alexis patted Kendra’s head and said.

Kendra felt so excited and nervous. She thought she needed some fresh air.

“Do you need to pat her head to do your test?” Lendon suddenly appeared then asked coldly. When Kendra heard his voice, she lost all her good mood right away.

Lendon was horrible, and Kendra hated him so much. Every time when Kendra saw him, she would feel annoyed and upset.

“Lendon.” Alexis distanced himself from Kendra and greeted Lendon as if nothing happened.

“If you smile at her again, I will sew your mouth.” Lendon threatened.

“I won’t.” Alexis covered his mouth immediately and said. He knew Lendon is a  jealous freaking tyrant. 

“When will you let me go? Why do you take me here? What is the test all about?” Kendra looked at Lendon and asked resentfully. Lendon should leave her and Alexis alone!

“Ask him,” Lendon threw a disdainful look to her.

“Miss Miller, we need to check your body. Besides, I will draw some blood later from you.” Alexis explained politely.

“Why? Why do you need to check my body? I didn’t ask you to! Why do you lock me here and do strange things to me?” She quickly asked several questions.

“I don’t need to explain to you.” Lendon glanced at Kendra and said. Kendra’s serious questioning annoyed him, so he frowned.

Kendra felt so desperate. Yes, he was Lendon Martin, and she was not even qualified to question him. However, whoever he was, he couldn’t lock her here!

“Lendon, I can sue you for what you did!” Kendra brutally warned.

Lendon ignored Kendra's warning completely. He looked at Alexis and asked impatiently, “How much longer do you need?”

“Almost done,” Alexis answered.

“Yes, you are Lendon Martin, but we have laws here! I won’t give up easily. I will tell the police and ask them to punish you!” Kendra shouted and struggled.

Lendon took a deep breath and walked to a desk. Then, he found a towel and put it into Kendra’s mouth.

Kendra stared at him unbelievably.

“If you say one more word, I will cut your tongue,” Lendon warned.

Kendra felt scared and kept quiet. But she still glared at Lendon.

Alexis sighed and comforted Kendra, “Don’t be angry, Miss Miller. He is Lendon Martin, the duke of England. Who can punish him even if you call the police?”

Yes, Lendon was a duke. It said that he would lead world politics and business in the future. Kendra knew officials in her country would treat Lendon well. How could she punish him?
