I don't know how I became pregnant

Her question, was more like an accusation to Amanda, she felt like she was accusing her, and in other words, she was asking her a question.

Amanda decided to take the other part of it. She took it to be a question, so she answered, looking straight into her eyes, as if that would make her beleived her.

"I would never cheat on your brother, it is not in my nature, I cannot explain this, and I am so ashamed, to even think about it or talk about it.

Which is why I need your help, I don't know how this is made possible. I would never have believed, this was possible.

I am well aware that I haven't had sextual intercourse with your brother and I couldn't have it with anyone.

But how it happened now, that I am pregnant, is a mystery to me, I need you to help me, please". She was begging now, but her tears kept streaming down.

Sonia understood that part, she had heard them,  some night, arguing about sex but she had never thought her brother was being starved. She looked at Amanda and saw that she was really confused, but sincere, she could tell she wasn't telling lies, so she became interested.

"If you didn't sleep with my brother or anyone else, who then impregnated you? Sonia was asking the same question, on the lips of every one.

"That is the mystery question now. Sonia I swear on my son, I never cheated on your brother, and i even asked your brother if he raped me,  but he said he would never do anything like that and right now, he is so angry.

How am I supposed to unravel this mystery if he really didn't rape me?

Sonia looked too calm and calculated which worried Amanda, she wanted her to get mad and walk away just like her brother, but surprisingly she was still there standing and listening to her.

"Do you remember going anywhere and blacking out or waking up on someone's bed half naked or something? Sonia asked, playing detective, she was trying to help her unravel the mystery, but all her questions, were answered without blinking.

" I have never slept outside this house before, how will I wake up on someone's bed, half naked, I have not even visited my parents and passed the night since I gotarried and became pregnant for junior, they were the ones, that came here". She explained further, hating the questions, she was asking, when she herself, knew all the answers.

What she said was true, but Sonia was  very eager to get to the root of the problem, she took another look at Amanda and just couldn't leave her, she needed to be encouraged and so she extended her hands to her to help her get up.

"Don't worry we will get to the root of all this".  She said, as she drew her close to her and gave her a tight hug. That seem like what Amanda needed at  that time.

Amanda was relieved that someone at least believed her, and was willing to fight to figure the truth, Sonia disengaged from her hold and left the house as if going to get answers from her.

PRESENT.

Amanda was brought back to present as she heard Dave cough in his sleep.

She tries to immediately wipe her tears, but she just could not stop herself, it was coming down profusely, she looked at him, and noticed that he was coughing, while his eyes are still closed.

She wanted to hold him, and pacify him, to stop the cough, she wanted to even go get water for him to drink, but she felt too heavy, she was pregnant, with no one around to take responsibility, she could only sit there and cry.

The cough was so serious, that he had to stand up, it felt like there was something tickling his throat. It was past midnight, and this was usually the time, he would wake up sometime, and make sweet love to her.

That time, when he was sure, no one could hear them, but since she lost her son, and she stopped him from touching her, he rarely sleeps in the same room with her.

Most times, after a heated argument, he would go to sleep in the sitting room, and the next day, she would try to make up with him, giving him reason, why she could not sleep with him.

He opened his eyes wide, when he saw Amanda sobbing, he knew the reason.  She had been like that for the past three month, she seemed sincere, that she doesn't know who the father of her baby is, she was really not going to bring the person to face him. 

If he didn't know, that Jesus, could not come back again, as a child, he would have thought, that his wife, was to be the next virgin Mary, but he as her husband, have also, not had any dream, where an Angel, would tell him, that he should take charge, and not get angry.

" I Am sorry I woke you Dave". 

She tried to talk, but he stopped her with a wave of his hand. He didn't want to look at her face, he was sure, they must be swollen from crying, and instead of her to tell him the truth, she was pretending, hoping he would fall for her pretence

"You cry everyday, you make noise all the time, still the man who owns that bastard in  your stomach have not surfaced.

Very soon you will start to show, I mean really show, and people will start to notice, that  you  are pregnant, that is if they have not already started to notice. but trust me dear wife, I will be here to tell them that I am not the father,  and I do not know you.

Dave was denying her, he was not going to go back to  being the man he used to be to her, that man that used to be very understanding and really loving.

"You have fooled me for so many years, but now, I am wise, and I will never allow you fool me again.
