~Lyra's POV~

"The Alpha found another Luna?" My mother asked my father. To say, we are shocked would be an understatement. No one expected it.

But one thing that was baffling was the one Alpha not accepting her yet.

"Yes, but he locked her up in the prison." My father said and we turned to look at him.

"Why?" My mother asked.

"Because he feels like she is a threat to the pack." He answered and I rolled my eyes.

"He does not even seem ecstatic about it at all." He said and we sighed.

He must be scared to accept considering how our Luna died.

"But he should for the pack." I added and they shook their heads.

"You don't know how the mate bond works. I am very sure he will be fighting off every feelings of his to keep her in there. The mate bond is not just there. It is attraction. It is death." My father said while my mother nodded in agreement and I shook my head gently.

"So, you are trying to tell me that he must be fighting his wolf to keep her in there. Is there any case whereas you meet your mate and you don't know?" I asked.

"No, you will definitely know it is them. Their scent will overwhelm your senses and you will fill like they are your whole world." My father said, looking at my mother and I groaned out with grimace.

The love and attraction between my parents was not just something. They loved each deeply to give birth to a twins and me.

"I will leave you guys." I said, walking out of the house before they stopped.

"When you see him, you will know." Those resounded in my head and pondered over it.

Why does that bug me a lot? I could have met my mate and I would not know. Maybe.

I looked around the woods, my ears pricked as I heard someone sobbing. Who was it? Why do I feel it like this?.. Moving forward, I glances behind the tree, only to see my sister, Christine, with her face in her palms, crying.

She must have noticed me. "Christine." I whispered. She jerked up instantly and looked at me like I just caught her doing something forbidden.

"Why are you crying?" I asked her as I stepped forward. She cleaned her tears and sniffed in. Squaring her shoulders, "I was not crying." She said.

Does she take me for a fool? Moving forward to grab her by her arm, she moved away swiftly. Fuck her! Having her wolf was an advantage for her now.

"Lyra, why don't you stop trying to act all loving when you don't care at all?" She asked me and I looked around.

Why do I feel I am not the one she is talking about?

"Christine, it is me, your younger sister." I said again to see if she was seeing me and she barked out a laughter.

"I am not blind, dummy." She said and I moved closer to her before looking into her eyes.

"Christine, look into my eyes and tell me...." I could no longer feel myself. Christine seemed surprised. What is happening to me? Where am I? I am stuck. I hit everywhere but nowhere in fact.

I was suddenly back and Christine had her face void of every emotion.

"Lyra, don't bother me. What I am going through is none of your business. You also have your issues, deal with it." She said, walking away.

I looked at her. What issues is she talking about? She... Ouch. My neck itched me. I scratched it but it was not stopping. What the hell is this itching about? Ouch! It is ticklish and also painful.

Ouch! I scratched it even more but it was not helping.

~Connor's POV~

"Alyssa, what were you doing in the border of my pack?" I asked her.

"I followed the stars." She said and I raised my brows before leaning against the wall with my arms akimbo.

"Are you a star seeker?" I asked her with a snort. She rolled her eyes.

"I am not." She replied.

"Then what are you doing here exactly?" I asked her. Why am I even interrogating her? She is my mate.

"Because of the festival of lanterns. I found out that my mate was here but I never knew it was the Alpha." she said and I straightened my ears to listen to her heartbeat. She was not scared. Which was surprising.

And weird.

"Really? So you were so sure that your mate was here if that is the case, then I guess I will reject you because I don't want a mate." I said and moved away from the wall. She looked at me widened eyes.

"No, don't." she begged.

"Connor, what are you doing?" Ryan asked through the mind link.

"Rejecting her." I replied simply.

"I, Alpha Connor..."

"Wait!" She stopped me as tears blurred her visions. My brows creased at the sudden action. She was going to die.

"I am a lone wolf. I have no relative and was really happy when I found out about the fact that I was blessed with a mate. I... Please, don't reject me." She pleaded and I glanced at Ryan who also had his eyes on her.

"Connor, I know you don't want a mate. But accept her for the pack, please." Ryan begged. I exhaled and closed my eyes.

I looked at Alyssa one more time.

"Okay, release her but she is not staying in my room." I said and she grinned widely.

"Thank you so much, Connor." She said and I looked at her.

"You know my name?" I asked her with my brows arched. She licked her lips.

"Hmm, who does not know the Alpha of this pack." She said and I looked at her with scrutiny.

Really? Who does not?

She is fishy.
