Chapter Ten

The afternoon light streamed through the large windows of Tiffany’s townhouse, casting a warm glow over the room. Furina sat on the plush sofa, her mind heavy with worry and uncertainty. She had just received a dinner invitation from her mother, Celeste, and it left her feeling suspicious. Celeste had always been a selfish and manipulative woman, so Furina couldn’t shake the feeling that the invitation was more about leveraging some advantage than a genuine attempt at reconciliation.

As Furina stared at the elegant, albeit insincere, invitation, her phone rang, breaking her from her thoughts. It was Luca, Diluc’s assistant.

“Hello, Furina,” Luca said, his voice smooth and professional. “This is Luca. Diluc will be picking you up for dinner tonight. Could you please provide me with the address where he should come?”
