“I’m offended by your comment, Margaret. Do a little more thinking for Christ’s sakes. Your boyfriend is a Lawyer!” Gary exclaimed.

“If Mr Jonah Jonah is wanted in Australia and he is in Greenville stirring trouble, what would be the easiest thing to do?” Alex broke it down for her but she still didn’t get it.

“How can you catch someone who has not even revealed himself to you?” She protested.

“By drawing him out” Noah replied.

“Exactly. Noah, I might kiss you. Don’t look at me right now!” Gary squealed, shuddering as he spoke.

“Mr Jonah Jonah is demanding Fredrick’s signature on some signed documents, isn’t he? We can use that against him.” Alex continued.

Gradually, Margaret began to understand why he was so excited.

Avery heaved in relief.

“I think that’s the best news I’ve received in a while”

“Let’s get to work, how can we help?” Noah asked, gazing at Gary for further details.

Gary blinked intently,

“What do you mean?”

“I’ve done my part, the rest is up to you.”

Four days ago, Alex had punched Gary in the face. That was the first time he ever broke the law and he didn’t even regret it. Gary had it coming, he was being unnecessarily rude to Margaret and he was pushing Fredrick to an early grave. Gary wasn’t with them when Nei Nei dragged Mr Jonah to court, he was only a novice lawyer by then. But watching his superiors, he understood they were in a tough spot. Attorney O’Neil was more stressed about Jonah Jonah than he was when he represented Greenville at the Russian Senate. He was pretty scared for Fredrick’s life. He more so hated that he was blindly following Gary’s unproven theories. He needed to talk to someone, anyone. Well, not just anyone- someone that valued Fredrick as much as he did. “Avery!” He muttered. He glided into the serene space of the mansion, desperately hoping to have a few minutes with Avery before Fredrick got back from work.He had been dissuading him from taking this decision for the last few days but the more he

“I’m sorry, I want to make up for everything I have put him through but I keep messing things up.” Gary sobbed. His sincerity was apparent but Alex was his friend, he knew him too well.He was almost incapable of change, being impulsive was Gary’s only way of dealing with things, he always acted before thinking. “Having you around has only ever jeopardized his life. One wrong act, one wrong sentence and the world he’s built for himself comes crumbling down.”Gary’s eyes widened in shock, “Is that what you really think of me?”“You leave me with no chance of a better judgement.” Alex retorted.“I have no other choice but to send you away, a second time…”“Do you only ever think of Fredrick? What about me Alex? I am your friend too.”“When you came back to me, I readily took you in. I was happy to have you back, I gave up my relationship so that Fredrick could forgive you. I did that because you are my friend. And now I’m doing this because Fredrick is my friend.”“Leave before he wa

The hours of the day seamlessly faded to sunset, Gary had just opened up to someone for the first time in his life. Adrian’s advise was to talk to his friends, but Gary knew he wouldn’t be able to. He found himself in constant struggles of whether or not to accept that he shouldn’t have fallen in love with Claire, but love is what it is, you can’t control it.Or maybe that was what he taught himself to believe. As he waited for Adrian to close the cafe for the day, Gary spotted a car driving into the parking lot of the cafe.“Ughhh!” He groaned.“Adrian, you have a customer!” “Send him in” Adrian replied excitedly.Gary reluctantly trudged towards the woman that had stepped out of the car. She looked about his age, yet Gary found it hard to hold her gaze. Something about her was intimidating him and he didn’t know what.“I would like to see the manager…” The lady said, smiling at him.“I am the manager” Gary replied.“Oh, great!” She exclaimed.“Can I see you for a minute?” She s

The next morning in the large mansion at White Avenue was quite a whirlwind.“Can’t you stay for a bit? Say two more weeks?” Avery sighed softly.Margaret and Adrian chuckled wryly,“I don’t want to go neither” Margaret replied.“But I have to…”“My fiancé needs me” she added, extending her arms so that Avery and Adrian would see her diamond ring.Avery rolled her eyes and pouted slightly,“You can have a fiancé and still stay here… don’t leave me!” Avery cried. Her cries were so outrightly falling on deaf ears because, as Alex emerged from the hallway with bags in hand, followed by Fredrick, Margaret leaped towards him,“Hi there, my fiancé” she squealed excitedly, hanging on her husband’s arm. Avery shook her head playfully, and gestures to her husband too.“I guess it’s just us from now on...”“I know so..” Fredrick replied.“Invite us to the wedding, if you please” he added.Alex nodded agreeably,“That definitely, you won’t miss.”Turning to Adrian, he laid his free hand on his s

  • My wife, my enemy!   Can you hate me later?

Fredrick woke up to the sound screeching chairs and creaking doors piercing loudly into his hearing. He groaned miserably and snuggled into his sheets, unable to bring himself to witness Avery’s departure, especially after his charade last night, he had regretted announcing their divorce and end of contract at the table. He had breached their contract and if Avery wanted, she could take him to court and sue him for damages- after all, the contract was to be done and resolved confidentially, in order to protect each other from prying ears.He shuddered unbelievably as last night replayed in his mind,“Why did I do that?!” “Alex hates me, I’m sure of it” he thought aloud.Suddenly, a thunderous bang sounded on his door, jolting up from the bed instantly. The thudding persisted urgently, without as much as a pause,“Don’t break down the door, I’m coming!” He thundered, hurrying towards the door. Before he could pull the door open himself, the outsider had pushed it open and let himsel

Panic surged through her as she held her breath, silently praying the unknown person away. The knocking persisted, this time, a bit louder than before. With trembling hands, Ivy advanced to the door, her voice quivering with anxiety as she muttered,“Please, whoever you are, go away!”“Ivy!” Adrian replied,A rush if emotions coursed through her as she he

Surprisingly, as if they understood his command, they gradually quietened.“How did you do that?!” Avery gasped in relief as she re-entered the room. “They’ve been so troublesome today.” She added.Noah turned to face her, a wide grin played on his face, beaming proudly,“Of course, they’ll listen to their uncle.
