[Conan POV]

I went home a little late that afternoon after meeting Taryn’s parents, since I have parents of my own who are waiting for my arrival at home.

“Wow look who finally came home,” my mother greets me with the most menacing look.

“Sorry I wasn’t home ma, I was with friends,” I say sheepishly rushing to my room.

“Hmmmmm,” I hear say, “you better take responsibility for your child if you get a poor girl pregnant out there,” she yells making me cringe.

“Come on ma, I always use protection,” I grumble, I rush to my room to change into something else, these current clothes smell too much like Taryn.

“Cousin,”

“What is it Cyan?”

“How is the nanny?” she asks, oh lord I have given these people a way to tease me, goodbye soft life.

“What are you talking about? Why should I know?”

“Because you left with her, and she said oh Conan just left when I called her earlier to talk about her being a live-in nanny.”

“What? Why would she be a live-in nanny, Clayton and Kaleah are here.”

[Taryn POV] I had broken down the moment I entered the car, yes Conan might be the wrong one in that situation, he is Conan Beckett and always starts trouble, but he had right to be given the benefit of the doubt as everyone else. “Are you okay?” he asks with such a soft voice. “I am fine, ugh…., can you drive already,” I commanded trying my best to mask the pain. He starts driving quietly, “you should not have defended me.” “Why because you pushed her?” “What no? I am not like that,” he confirmed my suspicions, “that old hag just wants to bask in your glory as her grandson's wife and is using poor old me for it.” I cannot help but chuckle, it wasn’t funny, but it felt funny to me, like most things he says just seem funny. “What is so funny?” “You, you are funny,” I say boldly. “Stop by my apartment so I can pick up some clothes.” “Sure.” I like this side of Conan, yes, we have just met but if he is like this to everyone close to him then he is one hell of a friend. The Bec

[Kaleah POV] The first day of our honeymoon and we haven’t been to any of the local tourist sites. “Clayton, can we get ready now?” I say dragging my husband out of bed. “What if we stayed in tonight, huh? That would be fun, you and I making love all day.” He says pulling me into bed to cuddle. “No, I can’t even feel my thighs with your insane sexual drive, please love, I want to see the world, with my love by my side.” I speak. I pout cutely, if there is something I discovered was how easy it was to get Clayton to do whatever I want. “If you pout like that it makes me want to kiss you more,” this man, such a clingy husband he is. I continue to pout; he sighs before seating up. “Fine, let’s have a shower together,” “I have already showered,” I reply making him groan, his naughty plan going up in flames in just moments. He gets out of bed dragging his feet to the shower, “you are doing great love, such a wonderful husband you are,” I cheer him on. With him finally showering I

[Clayton POV] We have spent a week in New Zealand before I got mountains of calls from clients feeling entitled enough to disturb my honeymoon. I should take more days off from work. The bed seems cold, well it is cold because my wife is nowhere to be seen, must be this new found painting she is so focused on. She had turned half of our hotel room into a painting area, not that I was complaining, just really would love to get my wife back. “Really? I thought we agreed you will finish this when we get home,” I grumbled, giving her a kiss on her head. “Morning,” she says in the most tired voice, I could see eyebags, her face had never looked this pale. “Wait, when did you start painting?” I asked angrily, she really lost sleep because of this. I started painting since you fell asleep,” she says softly, “I know don’t scold me, I just couldn’t sleep without finishing this piece, it is very important.” “Important enough to jeopardize your health?” I asked, well she is an artist, th

[Meanwhile – Conan POV] Are you comfortable?” I ask her, she is sitting in the car pouting. “Can you just drive and not make small talks,” she snaps making me sigh, ugh… come on why is she still angry about this. [Flashback] “So, I heard Zoey’s parents are returning tomorrow,” Taryn asks me, we were watching a movie, after putting Zoey to sleep. “Yeah, Clayton would never move away from the company for that long,” I reply. “Hope they enjoyed their honeymoon,” she says. "There haven't been any paparazzi photos," I say, "so they probably did." “Um Conan, can we try something.” I look at her anxious eyes, it seems to be something very embarrassing. “Is it another how many girls I have kissed question?” I teased her with a smug. “Well, not quite, just promise to not laugh, and you don’t have to do it if you don’t want." “Okay, you are scaring me and exciting at the same time, what is it? Do you want me to help you hide Mike’s body?” she rolls her eyes. “No, it is quite embarr

[Conan POV] It has been about two months since I talked to Taryn, and it has been torture, like I think I should try the whole dating thing. She comes once in a while to the house to take care of Zoey, but I have been too busy helping Kaleah and Cyan set up their art store. “What are you doing here?” “Well, I am helping your wife…...” “Stop lying Conan.” I sigh, caught in a lie with Clayton Beckett, and possibly the reader, fine I wasn’t busy when she came, I just wasn’t in the house ‘accidentally’. “Just talk to her and stop running away, ugh…. Being in a relationship is not that bad you know.” Clayton the love fool says making me roll my eyes. “I am leaving, you are no help.” I stand up to leave. "Just talk to her already, you are being insufferable," he yells and I cover my ears walking out. I know this is not the best decision, being in a dry spell and all because I can’t admit my feelings, but it is working for me. I decided to go out with my friends tonight, we had ch

[Clayton POV] Waking up early has been my least favorite thing in the world, how dare that paper work take me away from the warmth of my gorgeous wife? “Stop groaning you are the one who set up your schedule,” Kaleah scolds me. “I just wanted to get it over with so I can come home to my family,” I grumble getting out of bed. Kaleah goes back to sleep as I get ready for work. I had taken a shower and changed before going downstairs to make Zoey’s milk, something I was proud of as a father. I had moved to give both my beautiful wife and daughter a kiss on the forehead, a ritual I have done in all the two months of our marriage. I am always the first in the office, usually Cain comes half an hour late but he seems to be earlier than me. “You are here early,” I teased him. “Oh… Mr. Spencer called me early this morning to change a few things in the project,” Cain says, making me angry, it seems Mr. Spencer had forgotten who the parent company was here. “So, he interrupts my honeym

[Clayton POV] We called the police as soon as we arrived home and they went and examined the car, and I called Conan who returned later with Taryn. “So, what is the plan?” Conan asks. “I don’t know, the police will look for the CCTV footage of the parking lot tomorrow morning and we will take it from there,” I say sounding deflated. “Do you have a clue who could it be?” Who would want to hurt my wife, her father, her ex, maybe Hailee. “I have a few, but I doubt they would do that after the punishment I gave them,” I say. Maybe one of my enemies, but my enemies are only business men, could they have kidnapped my wife. “You can never know, we should never leave any stones unturned Clayton,” Conan says, “come on let us visit everyone one by one to see if they really did take her." We first visited her father, who based on his pitiful situation didn’t seem to know. “You ruined my life what makes you think I would kidnap your wife?” he shouts, “I don’t know where she is okay.” “Y

He hated it, he hated how Kaleah went on to be a great person, he wanted her to crawl back to him. See for all the women Ellen went out with Kaleah was the most exceptional of all, and he coveted her to be his. “Can you not break things you brat, ugh… why did my son had to die to leave me with you,” his mother scolds after hearing the breakin
