Chapter 64: Feet Under My Bed

Her friend’s lack of enthusiasm surprised Hanna. Since she was so attached to Morgan, it didn’t seem like they didn’t get along. On the contrary, Hanna could say they were getting along as well as Morgan and Danica.

“You don’t seem happy…” Hanna mumbled, moving towards the bed and picking up her phone.

“You know… he’s handsome, kind, and from a great family, but I wouldn’t want to marry him.”

“You… don’t like him?” Hanna asked while checking her phone and seeing a message from Lory:

“Come back home, Morgan is sending men to find you. If he doesn’t find you, he will call the state police to locate you!”

Hanna turned pale when she read it.

“Misa… we’ll talk later, okay? I have a problem, I need to get this stuff off my face and get ready!” Hanna said anxiously, starting to pace back and forth. This wasn’t her room.

Quickly, she went to the closet, grabbed her clothes, and returned to change. Questions still swirled in her head: she wanted to find out who ha

Chapter 65: You Frustrate Me.Hanna struggled to free her foot from Morgan's grasp, half of her body under the bed and the other half out. She straightened her dress and emerged, not knowing what to say, still clutching the box in her hands."Danica?" he asked, surprised when he saw her face flushed with embarrassment. She then stood up, making a brief bow and swallowing hard."Sorry, I didn't mean to..." she tried to speak, but suddenly one of his hands was holding her jawline, and the other was around her waist, pulling her against his body. Her breath hitched, her eyes widening as she stared at his face, not understanding what was happening. His touch was firm, almost possessive, but not cruel. In fact, there was something in his intensity that revealed how anxious he was to have her in his hands. It took her completely by surprise. What was he doing? Had he gone mad?"What are you doing?" Hanna shouted, pushing him away forcefully. "How dare you kiss me with that mouth after spend

"What can a man with multiple suitors and who is married offer me?" she questioned, waiting for his response.Morgan hesitated, thoughtful. What he wanted most was right in front of him, at least that's what his heart said, even though his head was about to explode."Things shouldn't be this way," Morgan confessed. "If I had met you before, I wouldn't have thought of fulfilling this agreement in place of my son.""Even if you lost everything?" she asked ironically."I don't care if I have to lose for you," he said with conviction. "Even if it sounds cliché and not my type to say these kinds of things, I can't deny what I feel for you."Hanna was speechless."You're married, but you're proposing that I be with you?" she asked, uninterested."I can't consider this a marriage if it was purely for business," Morgan explained."But you've never been interested in getting close to your w

Chapter 67: Family PhotosOliver pondered for a few moments. "Well..." he sighed, showing discomfort in his voice. "It seems that Hanna's medical condition is recent. The illness might have manifested when her mother died, due to stress. But I'm not a doctor, that's just what they say... People who studied with Hanna said she was one of the prettiest girls on campus, with a good appearance and profile. I heard that some boys from important families were even interested in her, which intrigued me. If she really had the profile of a gold digger, she would have easily married one of those men." "Is one of them Murilo Mota, the ambassador Mota's son?" Morgan asked with disgust. "That’s right. It's purely coincidental. They worked at the same logistics company as the Farrugias and studied on the same campus. I investigated this and thought that the younger Mota had tricked you and tried to get into the company to spy on you. But he was just after your wife. I believe, for him, it's not

But Hanna's determined look, as she firmly grabbed Liara's wrist, made him admire her. Since when did she defend herself with such firmness?"I will not allow you to dare to touch me again, nor let your daughter incriminate me with things I didn't do! Don't think I'm that nice, Mrs. Liara!" Hanna asserted, then aggressively released Liara's hand."Your days in this mansion are numbered!" Liara shouted, this time lunging to grab Hanna's hair. Hanna pushed her, but not hard enough for Liara to fall. Even so, the woman threw herself dramatically on the floor, and Hanna laughed at how similar she was to Maya. Suddenly, Liara began to fake crying and screaming for help.Soon, Maya and Morgan's mother were there in the hallway. Liara was reenacting the same scene that had happened with Maya, and Hanna could hardly contain

After a few seconds of contemplation, he surrendered and took it with him.Cautiously, Hanna walked down the hallway of rooms until she reached her own. Upon entering, she found Misaluna already holding a bag.“Did you buy it?” Hanna asked anxiously.“Actually, my security guards took care of it. It would have been too much effort for me, and I must confess I haven't been feeling well these days,” Misaluna explained, showing the red circles under her eyes and the exhaustion on her face.“Thank you, Misa. I know how complicated this is for you. But soon we will have positive results with your treatment,” Hanna reassured her.“Hanna… you’re an angel,” Misaluna said, her voice choked with emotion. "I need to talk to the lady in charge of the research," he announced. As far as I know, you are not part of this lab," Morgan retorted, with a severe tone.Hanna lifted her face, looking Murilo in the eyes, and smiled. However, there was still one place she dreaded visiting—the hospital room where her father lay. Despite her reluctance, Hanna knew she had to see him, understand his condition, and decide what to do. "Do you really want to see him?" Gabriel asked hesitantly as they stopped in front of the door to the room. Hanna remained silent, her head bowed, displaying apprehension and sorrow. Her emotions were conflicted: she didn’t want her father to die, yet she harbored deep resentment for his actions. "I just don’t want him to die," she admitted, her voice thick with emotion. "It wouldn’t be fair to strip so many people of their freedom for years and then just die like that." "He’s an old man now," Gabriel offered, trying to console her. "Still filled with malice..." Hanna smiled, but it was a disconcerted and melancholic smile. "Can you imagine he wante

She has a cut on her leg that needs attention because it’s deep enough to get infected, but that’s not even the most critical thing. She’s pregnant.” When the doctor revealed this, Lins raised his eyebrows. “Yes…” he sighed, restless. “I heard she’s married to an important man.” “What do you want me to do regarding the child?” the doctor asked calmly. “Nothing. What do you think should be done?” Lins asked, indifferent. “I thought you might want to terminate the pregnancy,” the doctor commented. “I’m not considering that,” Lins replied firmly. “Let her have the baby.
