**Chapter 142: Lins’ Visit**

Morgan waved to the butler not to open the gate just yet. The butler looked up at him from under the veranda, confused about what was going on. Charles, upright and serious in his wheelchair, appeared determined, but with all the unfolding events, he felt insecure and fearful for Hanna.

Two groups of five men had formed into immaculate lines in front of the mansion's gate. Between the lines, an elderly man leaned on a cane, his eyes fixed on Charles.

Oliver and Gabriel accompanied Charles downstairs. Gabriel was pale as paper, his stomach churning with nausea. The presence of old Lins, the man he had to consider a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, made him dizzy and disoriented.

"Do you think it’s safe to open the gate?" Oliver asked for the first time, his voice hesitant.

"Hanna is no longer here," Charles responded indifferently, trying to mask his own apprehension. "These men can’t do anything."
