Evelyn’s POV

I watched as the man who was supposed to be my mate walked away from me like I was a fly that would perch on him if he accidentally stayed. Unwilling to let myself think more about everything that was going on with me and Alpha Gaius, I turned my back to the wall and forced myself to get back to sleep.

By the time I would open my eyes again, the sun was already seeping through the window. I sighed and got out of the bed even though I had no idea what I was going to do with my day. At first, I thought about making myself breakfast, but I kicked against it.

I was in a strange house and place. Rushing to the kitchen on my first day at the place might be frowned upon.

I thought about staying indoors all day next, but again I kicked against that, knowing that was not the way to appreciate the people who had done nothing but made me feel welcome when they didn’t know me from anywhere.

Determined to make the most of the day, I cleaned up and made my way to the living room of

Evelyn’s POVNo. Not that I almost dropped the phone. It actually slipped from my hand. “Evelyn!” The voice yelled at me from the other end. Unable to control myself, I quickly grabbed the phone and placed it back to my ear. Not in a million days had I expected to hear that voice so soon again. It made me dumb enough that I didn’t even know what exactly it was that I was supposed to do. “He-hello?” I managed to stammer out again. I wanted to be sure it was truly who I thought it was and not just that I was hallucinating. “Yes. How are you?” The voice asked me. The tone was not one that suggested that the person in the other end truly wanted to know how I was doing. Cyrus! Why the hell was he calling me now?“I’m not even going to wonder why you are not talking.” He said, laughing hysterically in the background. It was an evil laughter - one that suggested that he was deliberately taunting me. I wanted to retaliate. I wanted to curse him. I wanted to yell at him and ask him to

Gaius’s POVOnce again, the meeting had ended abruptly, with the women out of the pictures again, leaving just Adam and I in the meeting room. One of the women had asked for permission to think about whether she wanted to be mated to me or not. The other one had stumped her foot off in anger over why the first one had to think about something that would help all of us.I sighed deeply, not knowing what to think again. As much as I wanted to be considerate and think of Evelyn and how she was feeling with everything in her life happening at once, I couldn’t help but feel bad that she had even thought that she needed time to decide if we should announce our mating bond or not. Was I that bad to be with it?Could it be that she was irrevocably in love with that monster called Cyrus and she was not willing to let go of that love for him. Or could it be that she was ashamed of me and didn’t want to be associated with me?My mind went back to when I had introduced her to a couple of peop

Evelyn. My jaw dropped and my mouth was wide open as I stared at the man who had not just walked away from me after it seemed like we were getting close to each other, but the fact that he had actually transformed into his wolf form and dashed away from me like I was some sort of plague he should not be associated with. My heart shattered into what could only be described as a million little pieces from the heart break. What the heck was the man’s problem? Why was he always drawing close to me and then pushing me off whenever I lost my guide and wanted to be closer to him as well? Was all of this a joke to him and he just wanted to flirt with me? Or was he trying to see if I was a cheap catch?*His fur is amazing!* My wolf screeched into my thoughts. My annoyance doubled at her words. *How about having some care that the man is always rude to us?* I hissed at her. Even though I knew that she might have been right about his fur being amazingly cute, I didn’t want to dwell on that

Evelyn. Raven. The name felt very bitter in my mouth even as I spat it out. What the hell was she doing at this place? “I am very sure it is not nice to meet me, right?” She said in a cool, collected voice that made me raise a brow in suspicion. Why was she this collected? Especially when we were alone in the woods where no one would know anything if she attempted to get revenge on me. “What do you want?” I hissed at her. She shrugged like she didn’t hear what I was saying. I watched as she began to look at me from my hair to my toes. Subconsciously, I looked at myself again. My mind relaxed a bit when I realized that I was still dressing in a neat way, courtesy of Alpha Gaius and the outing we went to. “Why are you here, Raven?!” I asked her, this time, more forcefully than before. If she was the one Alpha Cyrus had thought to send after me, then I was going to make sure I didn’t go down without a fight. “I came to see how you are enjoying your new life at Hartwood Pack.” Sh

Gaius. The moment I took off in a race in my wolf form, I found myself panting at my brother’s grave. I hadn’t brought myself there consciously, but I didn’t find it strange, given the fact that my mind had been on him from the moment I walked away from Evelyn. I turned back into my human form and sat by the side of the grave. I sighed as I noticed the small bush that was growing on the graveyard. It had been a while since I had visited. Given that I had to step into the role of an Alpha and chase after Cyrus for revenge, I had gotten so busy that I couldn’t make out enough time to visit and clean the grave as frequently as needed. I stretched my hand and plucked the first weed I could grab. “You know, I feel so guilty that I am now leading the pack that was supposed to be yours by right,” I said as I plucked out the second one. A sigh left my lips before I could stop it. “And now, the moon goddess mated me to your mate,” I informed him. Again, I pulled out another blade of gra

Gaius. I felt like hitting something. Hard. How had that man gone as far as being close to signing a merger with a pack and we were only just finding out?“What do we do?” I asked Lisa and Evelyn. I didn’t even know what to think and how to stop the merger from happening. I just knew that it had to stop. “Adam is in the meeting room, waiting for us. So I suggest that we go there and we can all deliberate on the next step to take,” Lisa answered. “You know we can't fully trust anyone.” She added in a whisper, indicating toward the door to show that anyone might be eavesdropping on our conversation. At that, we agreed to continue the meeting at the usual place. Lisa left first to wait for us. About ten minutes after she was gone, I held Evelyn’s hand and helped her out of the mansion. To anyone else, it would look like we were on a date, just strolling under the half moonlight, but we were on our way to the meeting room. “Welcome, Alpha Gaius. Lady Evelyn, how do you feel now?” Ada

Cyrus. I glanced up from the files I was going through. It was the files containing the details of the merger that was supposed to happen between me and the next door Alpha, Alpha Trey. It had taken a while for me to go through the terms and conditions of the merger, but I was finally done with it and I was pleased with the outcome. I picked up my phone and placed a call through to the man. Before the second ring could sound, the man had already picked up. “Hello, Alpha Trey,” I said into the phone the moment I heard his voice from the other end. “How is it going from your end?” I asked. There was a moment's pause from my end as the man continued to narrate how he went through everything and he was just about to call me to let me know that he was content with the agreement we were supposed to sign. “Have you gone through the terms and conditions?” I asked him. Once he replied in the affirmative and didn’t say anything further, I smiled to myself. Such was the authority I had on

Evelyn. “Gai-“ I tried to call Alpha Gaius, but I couldn’t even finish as he already turned around the corner and walked away. I didn’t know if it was my eyes that were deceiving me or if I was just imagining it or if I had truly seen it, but I felt the man had hurried his footstep when he heard me try to call his name. I didn’t want to think the worst of the man but he left me with little to no choice. After that outing that we had, it appeared that he was trying his possible best to avoid me. No matter how early I woke up to look for him, he was never there in the mansion. Each time I managed to come across him, his Beta or Gamma were there to take him away. Or he would have walked away from me before I would be able to call his name to get his attention. After about two days attempt that proved to be futile, I knew that I had to get myself busy before I would start imagining the million and one things that I shouldn’t. And that was why I decided to start helping the pack’s doc

  • My ex-Luna came back for revenge   Is that what you want?

EvelynThe pack house was filled with tension, each step echoing with an unspoken fear that had settled over the pack. Rumors spread in hushed conversations, whispers that carried the weight of panic. I could feel it everywhere—the unease, the doubt, the fear of what might come next.Gaius stood in the council room, his broad shoulders squared as he faced the pack elders and advisers. The light from the high windows cast long rays on his face, but his expression was unreadable, a mask of control.“Alpha,” one of the elders began, his voice thin and brittle with age. “We understand your position, but Cyrus’s forces grow stronger every day. Packs far more powerful than ours have already fallen under his control. We must… reconsider our options.”The room fell silent, everyone waiting for Gaius’s response. His green eyes burned with quiet fury as he turned to face the elder.“You mean surrender,” he said flatly, his tone leaving no room for misunderstanding. The elder shifted uncomfortab

Evelyn“Stay with me, Dad,” I cried low, my voice trembling as I leaned closer to him. My hands pressed a damp cloth against the wound in his chest, and the coppery scent of blood was thick in the air, mingling with the faint sting of antiseptic. His breathing was shallow, each rise and fall of his chest a battle. I couldn’t look away, couldn’t let go. My father was too strong, too stubborn to let a silver bullet take him down, but the fear that filled my chest told me otherwise.“Evelyn,” Gaius said softly, his voice cutting through the panic spiraling in my head. He placed a firm hand on my shoulder, grounding me. “Step back. Let Adam handle it.”“I can’t,” I rasped, my hands refusing to move. “He needs me. I need to—”“Evelyn,” Gaius interrupted, his tone steady but commanding. “Trust Adam.”I hesitated, my fingers clinging to the cloth as if letting go would mean losing my father. Finally, I nodded, my movements stiff as I stepped aside, my knees threatening to give out beneath me

CyrusI adjusted my tie, ensuring it lay straight, before stepping up to the podium. The cameras rolled, their lenses focusing on me, capturing every calculated detail of my expression.“Good evening, my brothers and sisters of the packs,” I began, my voice smooth and commanding, filling the room and, undoubtedly, countless homes across the territories. “Today marks the beginning of a new era—one of strength, order, and true leadership.”I allowed the silence to stretch, feeding off the weight of my words. The carefully orchestrated scene behind me—the subdued Council of Elders bound and gagged—spoke volumes without me needing to say more.“For too long,” I continued, pacing slowly, “the Council of Elders has failed us. They’ve pretended to stand for justice and unity, while secretly indulging in corruption and cowardice. They’ve betrayed the very packs they swore to protect.”I turned toward the camera, letting my gaze pierce through the screen. “But no more.”The feed switched to a

EvelynTwo days after the picnic, the pack house felt quieter than usual. Gaius was at his desk, engrossed in a stack of papers, while I sat by the window, sipping tea and letting the morning light ease my thoughts. For the first time in weeks, it felt like we were starting to rebuild the fragile threads of a normal life. That peace was shattered by a panicked knock at the front door.“Alpha! Luna!” The voice was urgent, high-pitched, and unmistakable—it was Adam.Gaius was already on his feet before I could react, his chair scraping loudly against the hardwood floor. I followed him into the hallway, my heart pounding. When Gaius opened the door, Adam and Lisa burst in, both pale and visibly shaken.“Adam? Lisa?” Gaius’s tone was sharp, his Alpha presence commanding. “What’s going on?”Lisa clutched Adam’s arm, her eyes wide with terror. “You… you need to see this,” she said, her voice trembling.Adam didn’t waste a second. EvelynThe warmth of the water washed over my skin, steam curling in the air like a beautiful cloud. Gaius stood behind me, his strong arms wrapped around my waist, his hands tight over my abdomen as though he were afraid to let go. His touch was gentle.“I missed you,” he murmured, his lips brushing the curve of my shoulder.I placed my head back against his chest, closing my eyes and letting the warmth sink into my tired muscles. “You’re here now,” I whispered, my voice soft but steady. “That’s all that matters.”The shower wasn’t just about washing away the dirt and exhaustion of the past few days—it was about cleansing the weight of everything that had tried to break us. After a while, Gaius reached for the towel, wrapping it around me with care before taking one for himself. I caught his gaze in the mirror as we dried off, his eyes softer than I’d seen them in weeks.“You’re staring,” I teased, the corners of my lips twitching into a faint smile.“Can you blame me?” he replied,

  • My ex-Luna came back for revenge   Battle is over!

GauisThe cold mountain wind hit my face as I stood with my warriors, the night covering us in shadows. Below, the faint glimmer of lights from Cyrus’s hidden fortress flickered like the embers of a dying fire. But this wasn’t a fire meant to be snuffed out—it was a storm waiting to ignite.“Alpha Gaius,” Adam said, his voice low as he crouched beside me. “The scouts confirm the defenses are active. Tripwires, motion sensors, and patrols at every entrance.”I nodded, my jaw tightening. “Exactly what we expected. They’ll be waiting for a full-scale assault.”“And we’ll give it to them,” Adam said, a grim smile tugging at his lips.I turned, my eyes scanning the group of Alphas who had come to stand with me. Their faces were stern, their resolve palpable. They’d brought warriors, supplies, and most importantly, the strength of their alliances. This wasn’t just my fight—it was ours.“Listen up,” I said, my voice cutting through the tense air. “Cyrus thinks his walls will protect him, b

I stood on the balcony overlooking the coalition meeting grounds, every muscle in my body taut as I scanned the dark forest beyond. The knowledge of Cyrus’s planned attack weighed heavily on me, each passing moment feeding the tension simmering in my chest. The rogues were coming—I was sure of it.Adam, approached swiftly, his steps purposeful. “The scouts have reported activity on the eastern ridge,” he said, his voice low. “Movement consistent with rogue patterns. They’ll be here soon.”I nodded, my gaze still fixed on the tree line. “Good. Let them come.”Adam hesitated for a moment before speaking again. “Do you think Clara was telling the truth? EvelynThe tension in the air was heavy as Clara was dragged into the packhouse, her wrists bound and her head held high despite the murmurs of the guards surrounding her. My wolf stirred uneasily as I watched her approach, her face pale but determined, her lips pressed into a firm line."Put her there," Gaius ordered, his voice a low growl. He pointed to the chair in the center of the room, his eyes blazing with fury. The guards shoved Clara down, and she didn’t resist, though her sharp gaze immediately sought me out."Evelyn," she said, her voice trembling but defiant. "I didn’t kill your child. You have to believe me."My chest tightened at her words, and for a moment, the memory of the pain—the devastating loss—threatened to overwhelm me. I clenched my fists, willing myself to stay calm. “Why would I believe anything you say?” I replied, my tone colder than I felt.“I didn’t do it,” Clara repeated, her voice rising slightly as if the constant insistence could make it true.“Liar,”

The sharp crack echoed through the dimly lit chamber, and every man in the room went tensed as though they feared the next blow would land on them.Kellan, the wiry scout who had earned a reputation for always knowing too much and saying too little, cleared his throat nervously. "Alpha Cyrus, the CCTV footage confirms it. Gaius infiltrated the facility."I turned my gaze to the screen on the wall, where the grainy footage played in a maddening loop. There he was—Gaius, his movements swift and confident, the ledger clutched in his hand as he slipped into the shadows like a damn thief.“Gaius,” I muttered, my wolf snarling beneath my skin. “Of course, it’s Gaius.”The men around the table exchanged uneasy glances, their silence only erupting the fire in my chest. My wolf paced restlessly, urging me to act, to strike back before Gaius could use what he had stolen.Tobias, my second-in-command, finally fou
