Gaius.

For what felt like forever, I managed to merge myself into the crowd again. I ignored the stares of people at how tattered I was looking.

I had managed to escape from the cell I was trapped in and rushed into the forest. After running and running for hours in fear of having guards being set after me, I found myself in the city of the moon goddess knows where. I tried to find my way out of the place, but nearly everyone I stopped ran away from me like I was some sort of plague. It was either because they knew I was someone who tried to escape from someone or something and they didn’t want to involve themselves in my matter or because they thought I would harm them. Whichever one it was, it wasn’t helping my situation.

Now, all I could do was get to busy areas and merge myself with the people there so that it wouldn’t be so easy to notice me among them.

“Did any of you see a man who looks tattered and probably has a chain on him?” I heard someone yell from a distance.

Once I was done serving her, I expected her to walk away like the rest of the others did but she didn’t. “You are such a good Alpha.” She said to me with a grateful smile. She ate a spoonful of the food I served her and smacked her lips. “Thank you for feeding us.”“You are welcome,” I said with a smile. She walked away after that and another person took her place, this time with their own empty plate. I repeated the action I did for the woman. After everything in my plan had gone haywire, and almost everyone was pointing an accusing finger at me and claiming that I was a wicked Alpha, I

However, it still didn't excuse the fact that the building was going to take a while. How long that would be was something I didn't know yet, which was why I intended to find out from these people.“At least three weeks, Luna.” One of them replied. “And at that, we need every hand on deck as much as it is possi

  • My ex-Luna came back for revenge   The news.

Evelyn. The news I was waiting for finally came. However, it wasn’t the one I expected to hear. As days went by and I didn’t hear any response from my mate, I kept my hope alive, telling myself that the mission was just taking him a while to accomplish and maybe he was just in a real tight situation where he couldn’t pick his calls or turn on his phone to check on me. But then, I got slapped in the face by this kind of news?Or did I hear him wrongly?“De-dead?” I stammered out, my hands held against the basket I had forgotten I was holding. Finally, the basket slipped from my hand and my eyes began to turn me. “Yes, Luna. I am so so–“ the soldier said. His eyes held the sadness that was laced in his voice. I didn’t bother to hear the rest of the words. I couldn’t even listen if I planned to. The ground under my feet gave way and I found myself plummeting to the floor, my eyes closed and my senses lost. The last thing I noticed before I finally fainted was that one of the men sur

Evelyn. Boom! The loud bang of something exploding made me jump to my feet from where I was trying to rest in the mansion. I rushed over the stairs, straight downstairs and straight to where the tents were erected. I knew without being told that we were about to face another random attack if we were not already facing it. “What’s going on?!” I yelled the moment I got to the tents. I saw people panicking but still managing to act composed. Each tents had two people standing close, ready to close the tent’s zipper if they needed to stay hidden from the destruction. “Another random attack!” Grace answered, standing beside me. She cracked her neck ahead, trying to see if she would see the incoming war. “Get in the tent!” I yelled at her. She didn’t however moved. I ignored her and also strained my neck to see if I could notice the war. “Luna, are you okay?” I looked to my side and saw the Beta standing there, looking at me and the tents to be sure everyone was okay. “Why are the at

Evelyn. “Thought I would never see you again,” I said without beating around the bush with her. “But I see that you are still trying your very best to act like my replacement by forcing yourself around here.” I looked at her from head to toes in a disdaining way. If she wasn’t aware that I was not in my sweetest mood to listen to her nonsense, then she thought wrong. If she had any brain left in her head, she would have realized that I was back in the moon goddess forsaken pack, not out of joy, but because I needed to settle a grievance. But since she was too dumb to realize that, I wouldn’t mind showing it to her. Her countenance changed the moment she heard me utter those words to her. I hissed back at her, daring her to try anything funny around me. She eyed me from head to toes as well, probably trying to think of an adequate comeback for my words on her. “What are you doing here?” She hissed out in anger, obviously not being able to find something workable to say back regardi

Evelyn. “Why would you even think that I would merge my pack with yours in the first place? After I know who you are and how evil you are?” I hissed at him. The man must have lost his mind. At least, now it was clear that the hunch the Beta and I had was not just an hunch anymore. It was the truth. He was the one who was truly responsible for all the attacks against the pack. There was no reason to doubt anymore. “You just said it now. It is your pack.” He answered. He looked at me like I was a fool for not even getting the point of his words and knowing about what he was saying.“Point of correction, Cyrus. It is my mate and I’s pack. And that is why I get to refer to it as mine because whatever belongs to my mate belongs to me. Not everyone will be like you where you are not proud of the woman you made your Luna," I scoffed at him. If he thought that everyone was like him, then he thought wrong. There were men out there who valued their mates enough to have them know that everyt

Gaius. “No!” I screamed, flaring my hands in the air. My eyes flung open as pain hit me from the action I tried to perform. My hands hurt and my throat burned. I sighed as I swallowed my own saliva hard to keep the patch in my throat away. I grunted as I tried to raise my right hand again but had to quickly drop it down because of how hurt it felt to do even such a simple thing. As I closed my eyes again to get myself back from the haze that filled me, the memory of the car crash came fully. *I was driving, trying to escape from the men that were set behind me to kill me. While I was speeding away, I heard the loud honk of a car behind me. I turned at that moment, trying to see if it was the same people I was running from that managed to gain up to me. Evelyn. Something was eating me up. Something I tried my best to stop. Something I tried my best to ignore. Heck, I had done everything possible to keep it out of my mind, to the point where I worked myself to the point where I didn’t have any seconds to spare to think about it. But even at that, I just couldn’t. No matter how busy I was, no matter how hard I tried not to think about it, my mind would not stop going back to it even in the midst of the chaos. It was desperation. And it chased at me as if it was the very essence of my being. Like I couldn’t survive another second without it. And I was not being desperate just for myself or the situation at the pack. I was not even desperate for the threat that the goddamn person of Alpha Cyrus had made. I was desperate because I needed to know what exactly was going on. I needed to know what happened to my mate. Growing restless after leaving Alpha Cyrus’s pack and having no other news apart from the one the soldier came back with a

GaiusEvery step Raven and I took was deliberate. We moved in silence as we approached the secluded location of the Shadow’s grand gathering. The intel we got was just enough to confirm Cyrus’s presence and the purpose of the meeting. The rogues were gathering to swear loyalty to their new “Supreme Alpha” and witness the unveiling of his latest weapon.Raven walked ahead of me, her features covered by the hood of her cloak. “This isn’t just a meeting,” Raven whispered as we neared the clearing. “It’s a show of power. Cyrus wants to remind them why they follow him.”I nodded, adjusting the mask covering my face. “Then we’ll make sure we see everything,” I said, my voice low.The clearing came into view suddenly. The rogues had gathered in a makeshift amphitheater carved into the earth, a steep circle of jagged rocks surrounding a central stage. We slipped into the crowd unnoticed, our disguises blending with the rogues around us. The sounds of murmured conversations and the occ

EvelynThe house was quiet. It was the kind of calm that should have been soothing but instead made me uneasy.I sat at the dining table, stirring my tea until the liquid had cooled to the point I felt it was undrinkable no more.My mind churned with the thoughts of Gaius’s mission preparations, Raven’s lead, and the decisions we had to make. Just knowing that Cyrus was still out there, regrouping, left a constant ache in my chest. My wolf stirred uneasily.A knock came at the front door, the sound startled me enough as the spoon from my hand jolted. Grace appeared moments later, holding a pale envelope. She had an unreadable expression written on her face.“This just arrived for you, My Lady,” she said, handing it to me.I frowned, taking the envelope cautiously. There was no name or address on it, just the words Luna Evelyn written in elegant, handwriting. The paper felt rough beneath my fingers. It smelt like herbs.“Who delivered this?” I asked.Grace shook her head. “A cou

GaiusI sat in my office, staring at the map laid out before me, my thoughts a storm of frustration and helplessness. The fractured bond between Evelyn and me lingered in my chest like a physical ache, but there was no time to dwell on it. Not when Cyrus remained a threat, regrouping in the shadows like the viper he was.A soft knock on the door broke my reverie.“Come in,” I called, my voice heavier than I intended. The door opened to reveal Raven, her expression unreadable as she stepped inside. She no longer carried the air of detached confidence that once defined her. Living among the pack, isolated and distrusted, had stripped away some of her bravado.“What is it?” I asked, my tone guarded.“I have a lead,” she said, her voice steady despite the tension in the room.I raised an eyebrow, leaning back in my chair. “A lead on Cyrus?”She nodded. “He’s moving to regroup with the Shadow’s leadership. There’s an old abandoned stronghold in the eastern mountains. It’s isolated, for

  • My ex-Luna came back for revenge   The cave.

GaiusThe cave swallowed us in darkness as we moved deeper into its belly. The narrow, jagged walls were damp and oppressive. The only sounds were the crunch of gravel underfoot and the steady drip of water somewhere in the distance. Every step heightened the tension, and made my wolf restless under my skin. The scent of damp earth mingled with a faint metallic tang that I couldn’t place—an unnatural smell that made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.Raven moved ahead of us, her steps silent, her hand resting on the hilt of her blade. Evelyn trailed behind her, her form tense. I followed closely, my hand hovering near my weapon. The air was thick with unease, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were being watched.“We’re close,” Raven said, pausing to examine the faint glow of light spilling through a jagged crevice in the rock ahead. “That’s the entrance to the facility.”Evelyn stepped forward, her eyes narrowing. “It’s small,” she said softly.“It’s supposed t

EvelynThe moon hung low in the sky, casting a cold silver glow over the gathered group as Gaius finalized the details of the mission. His voice, steady and commanding, carried through the clearing as he spoke to the soldiers and strategists around him. I stood slightly apart, my arms crossed, a stubborn determination settling over me.“We’ll move at dawn,” Gaius announced, his piercing green eyes scanning the crowd. “This won’t be an easy mission. The facility is heavily fortified, and the terrain will work against us. But if we strike swiftly, we can destroy it before Cyrus realizes we’re there.”As the crowd murmured their assent, Gaius turned to me, his jaw tightening. “Evelyn, I need you to stay behind.”“No,” I said immediately, my voice firm.“Evelyn,” he began, his tone edged with frustration, “this isn’t—”“This isn’t your decision to make,” I interrupted, stepping closer to him. “You keep saying we’re in this together. That we’re equals. But every time something like this c

GaiusThe sun was low on the horizon, painting the pack lands in hues of gold and orange, but I barely noticed the beauty of the evening. My focus was locked on my phone, on the brief, urgent message from Raven:We need to meet. I have intel on Cyrus’s next move.I let out a breath. Dealing with Raven was always a gamble—a fine line between necessary collaboration and inviting chaos into our lives. But this time, I couldn’t dismiss her. If Cyrus had set up a hidden production facility for the serum, as she claimed, we couldn’t afford to ignore it.But Evelyn...I turned and headed toward the training grounds, where I knew I’d find her. The sound of her fists pounding against the punching bag echoed long before I saw her, each strike fueled by the storm of emotions that had been swirling between us.“Evelyn,” I called as I stepped into the clearing. She didn’t stop. Her punches were sharp, relentless, as though trying to silence whatever demons haunted her.“Evelyn,” I repeated, my ton

EvelynThe training grounds were unforgiving, the midday sun shining down with relentless heat. My fists slammed into the punching bag with a rhythm that matched the storm in my mind. Each strike sent a sharp jolt through my arms, but I welcomed the pain. It dulled the ache in my chest, the one that had taken root ever since my encounter with Roman.“Harder,” Matthias barked, pacing behind me. His voice was sharp, cutting through the haze of my focus.I growled low in my throat, channeling the frustration into my next punch. The bag shuddered violently on impact, swaying on its chain.“Better,” Matthias muttered, though his tone carried the unmistakable edge of disapproval. “But your form is slipping.”I ignored him, my fists flying faster, the strikes becoming more erratic. Sweat dripped from my brow, stinging my eyes, but I didn’t care. All I cared about was the sound of my knuckles connecting with leather, the satisfying thud that drowned out the chaotic mess of my thoughts.“Stop
