Lexi’s pov

The strange alpha had taken back roads, and mountain passes searching for a group of rogue wolves that had some infant named Rain.

Bound yet again I could only use my legs against the floorboards to situate myself.

Scooting up in the backseat I glanced out of the window to see where we were.

Ryken was driving down the highway toward a cluster of gas stations and a dreary hotel for humans that were illuminating the night.

“I need you to get us a room for the night,” The Alpha grunted to his brother.

“Why are we staying in the area? Those two brothers will find her, “ Stanley asserted.

Ryken scowled and stated, “I'm not leaving here until I find my little girl!”

Looking between them from the back seat I felt bad for him because in all likelihood his pup was already gone.

“After you get the room, carry her into it and stay the night. I have to go to a few more places to check if my pup is there. I will return in the morning,” Ryken muttered and handed Stanley a payment card.
