Freddy had called me a weak omega bitch! Had he always thought that way about me? Why did he have to say those words?

I shook my head and continued on aimlessly, not knowing how long I had been running, until a strange pain came over my body. I didn't know what was happening, but I began to sweat as the sun beat down hard on my head.

Fuck, a couple of loud noises sounded behind me and I quickly turned around.

/Our alpha has arrived! Clear the way/ I heard a voice shouting in the distance.

However, I was so deep in thought that I didn't even pay attention to the words the man shouted. I just continued walking while my sight was completely blurred.

With my body staggering I heard a loud horn honking again and again behind me. But when I turned around I was stunned. There were several black luxury cars behind me.

I arched an eyebrow and saw one of the cars stop and open its door. Suddenly a tall, black-suited man stepped out of the passenger side of the car. The man walked towards me and stopped. His huge figure blocked the sun that covered my head.

I shook my head and tried to clear my gaze, but when his face cleared, my eyes widened in surprise.

This was no mere man, this was Freddy's older brother, alpha Bennet. It was the third time I had seen Bennet in my life, after all, he was either busy or travelling with his fiancée, the future luna Monique.

Out of my thoughts I watched how Bennet wrinkled his nose and stared into my eyes. He didn't even have to say a word, for me to know what he was thinking.

/I... I just.../ I tried to say.

I actually wanted to tell him everything that had happened with Freddy, his brother, but my words stopped and before I could think, my head started spinning.

A darkness came over me from head to toe and my body went completely limp. I closed my eyes and let myself fall, yet I felt two muscular arms hold me up in the air.

Maybe I was dreaming, but the sensation of their touch caused a strange tingling inside my body. It was something I had never felt before, I didn't know how to explain it.

My body ached, I didn't know what had happened, but when I woke up the only thing I could remember was that unhappy scene between Freddy and Delilah. They both remained in my mind as if I was recording a horrible sex film.

At those thoughts I felt my heart beating fast, I didn't even realise I was lying on my own bed.

Groaning in pain I sat up in bed and felt everything spinning around, however, just then I remembered the last thing that had happened.

Oh my goddess, I had fainted in the arms of my alpha!

I didn't even have time to think, as I quickly jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen. /Mother!/ I cried out.

/Oh, Hester, you woke up!/ She said hugging me /Honey, I was so worried about you, are you feeling better?/

/I'm fine mother, but how did I get home? What happened?/ I asked confused.

/Lucas brought you home, he said he was with alpha when you showed up in the middle of the street. Alpha Bennet came out to make sure you were okay, but Lucas ran when he recognised you and brought you home/

/Fuck, this is so embarrassing/ I said covering my mouth.

My mother let out a small smile and shook her head /It wasn't/ She said trying to comfort me.

With her words I felt that things had been much worse. I had witnessed my boyfriend's betrayal, my best friend and him having an affair, then I embarrassed my brother, maybe it wasn't my day.

Thinking about it the hours passed and midnight finally came. I was in my room lying on my back rambling in my thoughts, until my bedroom door opened with a loud bang.

/It's time to congratulate the birthday girl.../ shouted Lucas and my mother all of a sudden.

Fuck, I was so immersed in my grief that I hadn't even realised that today was my 19th birthday. I quickly dried my tears and sat down to look at them.

/Were you crying?/ Lucas asked, sitting down next to me.

/No, don't worry/ I said faking a smile.

He looked at me with intrigue and placed the birthday cake on the bedside table. /If it's because of what happened today, don't worry, it's nothing to be sad about/ He said stroking my hair.

/Come on daughter, cheer up, you're turning 19, you should be happy/ Said my mother giving me a big hug.

In fact, she was right, even if that bastard Freddy had cheated on me, it was time to get on with my life... Thinking about it I forced a smile and sighed.

After eating a piece of cake, my mother and Lucas handed me two little boxes with an envelope. However, I didn't feel like looking at them, so I just put them away and went back to bed while they went to their rooms.
