Taylor rushed to meet Laura and Grace. He walked round them. He seemed very happy.
"Can you spot any differences. No. No" she stood between them putting each of his hands on their shoulders.
"This is perfect" he moved out to face them. He clapped obviously for himself. He looked back and must have wanted to say something to the Devil but he stopped and moved aside.
The Devil was surely angry at what he had been doing. He had moved aside when he saw the look on the Devil's face.
"Why did you grace us with your presence, city huntress?" he said with a friendly welcoming tone.
"I am here to talk about your offer" she replied with a strict tone. A tone of business between two strangers. It wasn't sure she came here to accept the Devil's offer.
"And your fake city huntress. The killer" she moved forward closer to the Devil.
"Congratulations. Laura. You have made it to the end of your impersonation of her status" the Devil turned slightly t
"He wanted you" Grace broke the news to Raymond."For what?" it sounded funny to Raymond. He was not a fighter and the last time he had a conversation with one of them, Mr. Dallas. He was mocking him for his poor fighting skills."I can't fight" he laughed."He didn't even know who you are. But he was sure I know you or I can find you" Grace obviously didn't know what he needed him for."Mayor Mount did a good job in that" he remembered how Mayor Mount had ensured that he was untraceable after the incident at the elite school, and when he discovered that that the vaccine he invented turned Grace into the zombie fighter."What I learnt is that he is trying to poison the minds of all the inhabitants of this city. He said they would have no choice, the same way the men working for him have no choice" Grace must have tried to piece that together because there was no way he would have told her that."Dr. Jake was right. He said those who took it
Raymond and Grace were brought before the Devil. They were made to sit and were tied to a chair each."That task force is a joke and I was depending on them to force you to me" the Devil walked slowly round both if them."We are never going to work for you" Raymond yelled at him. "You should better kill us now, because there is nothing you can use as leverage on us" he whimpered."I don't need a leverage to make you do my wish" the Devil paused and rubbed his cheek, smiling like he was enjoying it."Had I known you are the man I have been looking for. This would have been months faster" he bent down in front of Raymond looking into his eyes."You want to see my soul, a devil can't see it" Raymond flashed his eyebrows."I don't need to see your soul,I don't need it. All I need is your brain and your body. All the other parts, I don't care" he rose up and walked over to Grace.Grace was just starting at him."It will be better for
"What are they doing now?" the Devil asked Raymond as the mosquitoes that had just taken the tonic were acting strangely."They are not doing anything,I think they are dying. And they....you see" Raymond pointed to them as they all stopped and dying off."I've been preparing this for a long time, are you telling me this is not going to work?" he said furiously to Raymond like he was the cause of the failure."This solution is too strong for their weak body. This is not in any way like my vaccine. I'm sorry, it's not going to work" Raymond replied slowly. He couldn't look in his eyes due to the fear of how he might react at the unfortunate event."Okay" the Devil said after breathing deeply. "I want you to find a way how I can put this in a lot of people at the same time" he walked outward. "And you have only two hours to do that" he completed as he walked away."I think I already found a way" he called back his attention. "There is a way to do that
"There is a lot I have to say, there are a lot of questions surrounding how I ended up here. The city hunter which I publicly declare to be an enemy of the city. Everyone believed she put me here. But I am going to be reversing my words right now. The city hunter is our savior in this city. She has prevented a lot of chaos before they could be established. She is our Guardian Angel. A friend of the masses" Mayor Mount spoke in front of the crowd emotionally.Silence had prevailed in extreme as his speech seemed to be one of the most sought news right now."The city hunter is not a killer but a savior " he said conclusively. He raised up his hand as a salute to them and stopped talking. The reporters clamored for his attention after the pause. There were indinstinct noise once again. One of the reporters was allowed to move close to Mayor Mount's position. The lady smiled back at the security details that had allowed her passage."Mayor Mount, how ar
Some days earlier.Raymond opened the hatch on the ground to let Dr. Jake in to their base.Dr. Jake hesitated, he stared back at him breathing deeply. He obviously didn't want to go in. He seemed afraid of what he would meet down there."You don't trust me?" Raymond asked. He was getting impatient."I trust you but going underground in the middle of nowhere that took me almost an hour from the city" he shook his head."That has more weight than the trust I have in you. I'm sorry" Dr. Jake took few steps back."You told me how that chemical could be on its victims, worse than turning them into slaves. Some people are going to unleash it to everyone in this city. And this is where we are working to prevent that but we need you" Raymond was saying the best thing he thought he could use to convince him."You have two choices, go down there and help us or go back now and all the people of this city become something worse than slave to the De
A day later.Raymond saw Dr. Jake standing on the hatch outside with a bag, on the screen.Raymond felt happy to see him. He must have come with a solution to their previous discussion."Grace, come out here baby!" he shouted excitedly as he popped the hatch open for Dr. Jake.Grace rushed out and Dr. Jake walked in at the same time."I thought you just lifted that damn thing up the last time we came together. It was like it was glued to the ground. I couldn't pull it at all" Dr. Jake said angrily."You are not in the system" Raymond replied him curtly. He was more interested in what he had brought for them."Have you come up with something already?" Raymond moved close to him, aiming at the bag with him."Stop!" Dr. Jake jumped back. It seemed he didn't want him to touch it."Okay" Raymond moved back with few steps."I thought you brought that for us" Grace said calmly pointing at the bag."Yes,I brought it
Grace stood behind the curtains. She was preparing to walk on to the stage when she would be called. She was extremely nervous, had never felt like this in a long time. She tried controlling her nervousness with breathing therapy. Deep breaths. She wanted to breathe in deep then out for long.It seemed that would only work when someone's anxiety was in a minimal state not on an aggravated level that she was in, right now. She could not even take the breaths. She didn't know when she inhaled or exhaled. All she knew right now was she was breathing restlessly. The crowd were clapping intensely. She could feel their joy, eagerness and awe to meet her now. The City Hunter. She listened attentively to her calling to the stage that was obviously imminent. That was going to be a little hard in here. She could hardly hear anything. She felt something warm on her cheeks."What the...." she quickly wiped the tears that had trickled down her chi
Laura was the only one sweating in the courtroom as she stood in the dock. She was facing the judge to pass her sentence today.Raymond held Grace's hand more tightly. It was obvious that her case deserved a death sentence. She had killed more than one occasion. The only thing that could save her was the exceptional quality of her attorney. That was not so sure.Raymond looked at her again. She was afraid, young, helpless and ashamed. He felt pity for her. The only reason he was not regretting her over right now was because that cleared Grace's name. If not, he would be fighting with himself.Laura was looking round the courtroom. She was definitely searching for a comforting face but she wouldn't find that here.To everyone here, she was an enemy, a killer, someone that couldn't be mingled with. She continued looking around until she got to Raymond.Raymond quickly avoid her eyes. She would see his pity for her right on his face and that wo
